I love”real life is not edited” -showing us struggles with tangled yarn is more accurate of what we face in a crochet session on our own. So validating for new crocheters! I’ve watched “perfect tutorial vids” where they fly through their double crochets perfectly and it’s difficult to even see which way the yarn over goes-yours are wonderfully real and easy to follow along. Great tutorial! Thank you for making this. I hope you’ll continue to make more tutorials. Finally someone I can follow along with that shows us the reality and the struggles too! Thank you! 😊

I love how your squares lay flat with your turning technique. ❤ TFS!

Thank You! I’ve watched over 100 tutorials on granny squares… you are definitely easier to follow. I’ve been very frustrated starting squares and ripping them out again multiple times. You use simplified stitches and joining. You say why you are doing something different from “everyone else” and it makes sense. I love the way the half double crochet looks at the join but I couldn’t find where you say why you do it. I crochet extremely tightly. I hate big holes. The HDC fills the hole that bothers me the most. Thank you! ❤

Love this tutorial, thank you ❤ I don't mind turning as it seems to keep a better shaped square, and I love how the starting ch 2 seems to disappear. Much prefer joining to a dc instead of starting chains, you don't get that gap happening. Thanks so much for sharing 👏

Thank you SO much for this! Because of you, I finally understood the granny square math and method. I like turning because I am used to it with other projects and keeps the center from swirling

I was wondering if I could make solid granny squares and standard granny squares to use in the same blanket? I’m only using two colors so I thought maybe sporadic solid squares would add texture or different look. I hope that makes sense. I plan to make each square just one color. Thanks for your help.

I'm crocheting along with with (newbie) and after my first round of DC, I pulled my tail tight & I didn't end up with a square and I also have a slightly larger hole in the center, any idea what I may have done wrong/differently?

In my grade 11 which was called higher Secondary, my Child Development examiner asked me what marks I expected, I said 90+% as I was confident I had done very well. He gave me 117 out of 150.
