I have been crocheting for years and would consider my level as intermediate to advanced. My crochet projects have inspired the ladies I work with to start crocheting as well. I have shown them a few keys to getting started. But there’s not enough time during our lunch breaks to show them a lot. So I have shared this video with them. Tiffany I love your tutorials and have made many of your projects. This video covers everything they need to get started crocheting 🧶 Thanks Tiffany for making these wonderful video 😃

Great beginner tips. I will forward along to some 10 year olds wanting to learn. My grandmother taught me and I found the knife hold comfortable. My grade 5 teacher tried to teach a few students how to crochet and she was determined that the pencil hold was THE ONLY WAY. Let's just say I didn't last long with her classes.

I wish I'd tried to learn with a pale coloured aran 😄 nope, I went straight in with DK in ALL OF THE COLOURS. Yeah. I've since purchased a ball of pale coloured stuff that I use to practice new stitches!

I've been crocheting a couple of months now and I'm a fairly confident beginner, but I still need a super bright light for the darkest colours. I won't be attempting a dark coloured project anytime too soon 😄

Thank you so much for making this video :))) not a total beginner but never been officially thought, so tips are the biggest welcome Quick question for anyone; i've just realised i naturally have been yarning under for so long, does this matter? I can yarn over, but my default seems to be y/u as said, more natural for me :D so yeah basically is this something i should fix? 😅

I'm confused about yarn weight. I'm Australian and we use ply. I want to crochet baby set, pattern sais dk. So, I looked up dk and what did I find. Dk is 8 ply and 4 ply. Can you help me please
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sally! Oh gosh that can be confusing for sure. I will provide my favorite chart that helps me convert yarn weight: pin.it/s2ZGWNd. If I were you I would familiarize myself with each ply of yarn to see what an 8 ply yarn thickness looks like. What a 10 ply yarn, 4 ply yarn looks like. That way when you look at a pattern it’s easier for you to decipher what yarn they are most likely using. It’s tough but I hope this helps. 😊❤️🧶

I have a question that is a bit embarrassing for me. What do I do when my hands get sweaty and the yarn won’t glide through them? Please help anyone!?
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Carol! Haha it happens to all of us. It’s ok. When this happens I dry my hands with a towel or wash them real good to get the oils off. If this is a constant problem for you there are actually fingerless gloves that you can get from your local craft store or online. They are blue in color. I got some once because my hands dry out in the winter and will crack sometimes. But they take some getting use to. Hope this helps! 😊❤️🧶
