Rough Hands and Unusual Ideas You did not invent anything here. This is a well documented technique that has been printed in many glass cutting books for many years. I read how to do this when I was kid in school almost 35 years ago. Artists have been doing it for longer.

Занимательно, читал в книге Юный радиолюбитель, 1966, стр. 186, там описывалось как сделать из бутылки стакан для самодельного медно-цинкового элемента. Там автор предлагает взять шнурок смоченный в бензине или керосине, обернуть бутылку, поджечь и когда прогорит опустить в воду, бутылка расколется по шнурку, останется зашлифовать края и стакан готов.

Для тех кто пишет зачем это, вы додумайтесь это просто видео,он просто лишь показывает как бутылку по полам разрезать, вы зашли посмотреть ролик понимая что это никому не нужно,это прост видео, например я смотрел с интересом, а на счет музыки...

Ай, молодца! ) От заусениц и трещин на пальцах, используй крем Бархатные ручки, на ночь. Нанести на уязвимые места. Чем прямее проложена проволока, тем вероятнее успех )

мы так кружки пивные делали из молочных бутылок в советские времена. Горлышко отрезали, потом прищепками деревянными обклейвали и ручку приклеивали к неи. Красиво получалось.

The only thing I'm confused about is the claim of invention. I've cut bottles along their length, diagonally, scalloped and other designs using this hot wire/shock cooling technique many times in the past and more than 30 years ago. I've seen others do it too. I've also used string soaked in fuel and set alight which is another favourite technique of many creators. Sorry to burst your bubble. On a more positive note... Nice video! :)

Jcc8t7 Why would I do that? People just can't go around claiming ownership of pre-existing ideas then telling people not to copy. I'm an inventor myself and the process of establishing ownership and claiming intellectual property rights is a lengthy and expensive process. I have patented two products at great expense. It would be all too easy for people to claim rights/ownership to anything just by making bold comments in KZbin wouldn't it?

As for use it would be great to make a bottle shaped mold for anything. Chocolate. Glycerin. Jello? Lol. But that was pretty cool. I was wondering what that leather paper looking stuff was but was surprised to see it was asbestos. Couldn’t something less dangerous work? And who’s to say he wasn’t in the room when the cutting took place and it was ventilated? Not sure if that would prevent all the fibers from being inhaled but I can’t help but thinking this man knows how to protect himself. Cool video.

Не знаю чего там все всполошились? зачем да для чего? Из этого видео я допустим познал принцип как распилить сложную геометрическую, стеклянную форму. Другим способом в домашних (болгаркой, или стеклорезом...) этого тяжело (невозможно!) добиться. Я допустим этот метод использовал при резке стеклянных блоков, когда строил стену в бане...

That's what I'm wondering. Everything else looks easy to follow, but the most dangerous part about the whole thing? Lol. Just to be safe, I'm gonna use batteries hooked up in series till i get the 36 volts.

Tano Doc Asbestos is the highly carconogenic, but flame (and heat retardant) material that he uses to shield the rubber bands from the heated wire. Its made of a very fine, very tiny needle like fibre, that when breathed in is a catalyst for lung cancer. The very fact he's using it, and using it without gloves (and most likely without a face mask) is crazy. Asbestos should only be handled by those qualified, and the fact he's not using gloves suggests he's not. There's a specific method for doing so.

Hi Just a point on safety. If that is a sheet of asbestos you are cutting up you may be in trouble. Please check if it is but before you do anything else place it in a bag and seal it.

Когда-то давно я так светильники делал из бутылок. Только донышко отрезал, чтобы патрон с лампой вставить. Можно ещё ниткой обмотать, пропитать бензином и поджечь а потом остудить водой. Такой же эффект будет

Однако, на будущее, имеет смысл подписывать, что и зачем делается, тем более, подключение к клемме 36 В вы показали (имеется в ввиду - изолируем асбестом резинки, что б не расплавились, ВНИМАНИЕ! (на весь экран) охлаждать водой сняв напряжение!!! (мозгов у народа хватит, поливать воду не отключив нагрузку:0( ) и т.п.). Из мелочей - новая куртка/роба и маникюр - расширит аудиторию, привлечет больше лайков (и да, это не гейство, а суровые реалии подачи контента)

Asbestos risks are greatly overrated, but all the same, this stuff is hard to find anymore. You can substitute fiberglass mat or cloth and it will do as well. My grandfather showed me the trick of cutting bottles with a hot wire in the 1960's and he had been doing that for years, based on a Feb 1932 article in Popular Mechanic. On the other hand, cutting bottles lengthwise is original. Not sure what I would do with the two halves, but it is original.

Pierre C - not really, I have experience working with it and I know people who have COPD because of it and they are dying. The risk is real. I’m sure in a few years to come there will be an explosion of COPD from MDF and they way the industry used it for long enough.

I do agree that the risk is real. Inhaling the dust for years on end will certainly kill you. I do agree with that. What is dangerous is inhaling the dust, and for that reason I suggest to use fiberglass. I am sure the industry will find something else to kill us. Asbestos kills 12000 to 15000 people per year, guns 38000 in 2016, traffic 40,000. I am more concerned about those. Between 7,500 and 52,000 people (depending on the sources) in the United States meet early deaths because of small particles resulting from power plant emissions. The risk associated with asbestos is real, but overrated.

- Ну вдоль не понятно зачем нужно. А если *поперёк* (кружку сбацать декоративную), то ниткой (крепкой) обволакиваешь бутылку (один оборот) и два человека "пилят" (как бревно). И стакан холодной воды.
