I thought I had made a comment on this lol. I made similar comments on another curly haired youtuber: Back to basics, going to do what has worked for me for 25 plus years: wash, condition, hair in a towel, gel, air dry, scrunch out the crunchiness, only difference is I just called it fluffing, stuff I had been doing way before I ever heard of the CGM. I have been following this CGM for several years, watching my long curls get thinner and stringy. I stopped doing all this curly girl stuff several months ago and my hair is recovering. I thought I was doing my hair good, but was harming it. And if you actually go back and read Lorraine Masseys CG handbook, she doesn't say layer 7 products in your hair. She says to wash, condition, and gel. I truly believe layering all these products on my hair was harming it. Back to basics, or old school is best. Your hair is beautiful BTW.

Your hair is so full and gorgeous!! Great tips. One modification for finer, less dense hair girls with a looser curl pattern (I vary between 2C-3B). I found the hovering in the beginning didn't work for me :( I start cupping right away to help the roots and form the curls....the hovering made my hair more flat at the roots unfortunately! It really shows how different hair has different needs eh 🙏🏾❤️
@have3kidstoo7463 жыл бұрын
That is exactly what happened to me when I used the hovering technique. As her title says, back to basics lol. Cupping my hair in the diffuser was the answer as well.

When you said in one of your videos that you had thin hair I genuinely did not believe you because of the amount of volume you had. But when your hair is wet you can tell. I have very very thin hair as well but you happen to have a lot of it and I do not. My hair is so hard to work with, and it doesn’t know what it wants. But my whole life people have been telling me to “stop putting it up all the time, and straightening it. Do curly hair since your hair is naturally curly.” I’ve been doing curly hair almost everyday for the past 2 weeks and I’m trying to figure out what works best for my hair. By the way I love your hair it is soooo pretty.

Function of Beauty killed my hair...It did the opposite of what I wanted (I said my needs were strengthening, helping split ends, and volume) and my hair thinned like crazy, is more lifeless than it’s ever been, and is ridiculously damaged despite using heat on my hair maybe twice a year. I’m very happy for those who it’s worked for, but I never saw any negative reviews so I pressed on, thinking my hair was transitioning, and now I’m in crazy recover mode. Just hope to stop someone else from using it as long as I did (about 8 months I think) if they’re not seeing good results! that being said, your hair is beautiful, thank you for the tips with a diffuser. I will be searching for a no-heat dryer, my cool setting just gave out on my current dryer so I’ve pretty much stopped using it!
