Try it at night with power windows and use the headrest to break the window. Very terrifying.
@timmyt12322 жыл бұрын
This demonstration seems pretty simple in the daylight driving down a ramp, but consider it being at night (in pitch darkness), driving off into a canal that is deeper than the car with electric windows. I know that the car sinks front first, but I'd like to see how it sinks with only the driver side window open. Does it sink front and favor the driver side in this case?

Even more frightening to think what would happen in an *old* electric car...

Points on getting the children out but the eldest child is now dead because you threw him out into possibly raging flood waters or ice cold winter water. Got to get everyone out at the same time, especially if the kids don't know how to swim.
@lijkn5 жыл бұрын
possible. but chance of survival is much higher outside of a car than inside. you can see the demonstrator barely made it even with dummies and it will be much harder to handle two scared children at the same time. the general rule is the oldest first; he/she may be able to leave the car with less or no help of parents and higher chance to survive in the water(outside of a car) while the parents helping younger ones. if you cannot take them out fast, they're doomed regardless of their swimming skill and you wont have a chance to worry about raging water or the temperature.

Babies are flamboyant for a short matter of time. The baby was place on its back meaning it will float on its back.

Who drives cars with wind up windows????
@billiekelly88835 жыл бұрын
I feel his is unrealistic theres no way he woulda made it if those kids were real and had weight and fear to them kids dnt listen while scared sometimes and a parent's brain can get jumbled out of fear from drowning and their kids drowning trying to unbuckle them out of their harnesses making them take longer to unbuckle them it happened to me while my daughter was choking in her car seat on her own saliva I was shaking to the point where I just got her car seat harness off to help her it's very important to stay calm the more calm you are the faster you can do it
@SqueekyClean9765 жыл бұрын
The most important part is surely that the window is openned as quickly as possible. Once that is done you have increased everyones chances of survival exponentially.

People need to look up the word "submerged". This is the second video I watched where they escaped a "submerging" vehicle...not a submerged one. What happens when you are fully under the water? Do we just give up then?
@andys28563 жыл бұрын
The chances of getting out of fully submerged are next to none. You'd need to hold your breath for several minutes while remaining completely calm.

So, I guess the child that he throws out first knows how to swim. What if no one in the car could swim? Then what?
@brettgordon783 жыл бұрын
If it was an old electric cars and you cannot get the windows down you have to wait until the cabin fills up completely with water so the pressure equalizes and you can open the door and swim up
@user-rr3yw9dn1l2 жыл бұрын
Nope dont wait until.the car fills up. have a window popping tool and get out before it sinks.

It should have been made a safety requirement to retain the mechanical wound window function. This allowed drivers - and passengers - in this situation to wind down their windows quickly. Smashing window glass under water is a nonsense. Theoretically it is possible if you have the right tool and can locate it within a few seconds under huge stress to smash the window. But this is a nonsense in a real world situation.

It seems clearly more safe to unbuckle and get everyone ready in that 10-20 seconds and THEN unroll the window. He is trying to get kids out with water rushing in...
@lijkn5 жыл бұрын
not really. always window first. most of the cars have electric windows nowadays. although electric windows work even in the water usually, but once they fail you're trapped in the car and won't be able to open the door because of the water pressure. recommend this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIrEfniNaJWVrJY

A real baby isnt going to float. They need to do this with rushing water and weighted baby dolls that dont float. This isnt realistic. That was the most gentle water influx ever not realistic. The boat ramp is keeping the car from sinking for real like in a lake or bridge and rolling over. Do better you literally have a dive team.
