Thank God someone FINALLY pointed out that Rodtang doesn't just sit there and eat 100% of every shot. He gets hit a lot yes but the shots he doesn't take on the forehead (the denser/more durable portion of the skull) he does a really good job of rolling with as explained in this video. He may appear like a mindless brawler but he is FAR from it. He CHOOSES to fight the way he does.

If you have an iron chin like Rodtang, you can fight anyway you want. The fear of not getting KOed allows you to be more confident and really oppress your opponent. Rodtang is if course very skilled but his extreme durability is something most fighters do not have. Take into account being Thai, he's actual unofficial fight record is probably more than 100++ fights. For him to be able to take shots the way he does after so much fight mileage is really incredible.

Great to hear, thank you! Yes, I'll keep this in mind. Until then, keep your right hand up near your temple, crunch your thumb to your shoulder when the hook is incoming (like you're answering the phone), or evade the hook by dipping your head into your opponents armpit.

Rodtang is great and was honestly the super star talent that Muay Thai desperately needed to get on the mainstream level. For basketball it was MJ for golfing it was Tiger woods For martial arts in general it was Bruce Lee For BJJ it was the gracie family as a whole Every sport had that super star that helped push the sport to it's peek years, and Muay Thai in my opinion was desperately missing that until Rodtang.
