I grew up next door to Michael for much of our lives. I never once heard him complain...as a kid I didn't even realise he was sick. All I saw was a kind young boy who was happy to play with me and our neighbours. A young man who, when I was suicidal and depressed, in the midst of severe family violence, found me walking alone on our country road and gave me a lift home. It was only as an adult (when I interviewed Michael for a book I was writing) that I truly realised just how much Michael had been through and what a miracle it was that he survived. One of the most positive and kindest humans you'll ever meet.

I'm grateful for the life I have had & still have! I've been through all the ups & downs (inc seizures, heart problems & major problems functioning e.g. mobility). I currently have an infection that I'm struggling to fight off (been 5 months now). I have a blood disorder. But that doesn't define me. This man is a walking, breathing miracle from God!! His life represents the glory and power of God but the impossible things done through him!! God bless he and his family, and be with them. Seeing him speak reminds me of this passage from the Word, particularly verse 3: John 9 King James Version (KJV) 9 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

Used to pray to god to take me and take me every night tears tears I didn’t care anymore, yes my life was not bad when I was a kid I played sports like football was really good at it? Every time I prayed to god to die god flipped it upside down, and I always woke up and I would be so grumpy that I was not dead. Finally a day came where I was with it the pain in my body aches it was horrible my dad would say keep on going with your football career and don’t give up but guess what .. the time I popped those pills I finally saw live life to the potential I was scared every second of my life I finally felt that burning in my head like my brain was getting lava poured on me it hurt so damn bad I finally knew that I’m about to go. When that was happening I was 11 years old my dad came home from work early and I told him what I did “DAD I JUST POPPED ALOT OF PILLS AND ITS HURTING SO BAD DAD IM SO SORRY” that’s when he rushed me to the hospital he fed me with water while driving to the hospital I went in and I finally noticed. God did not give up if my dad did not come from work early I would not be here I finally figured out that how much tough times you go through you can’t give up my dad was in tears the doctor said “sir you are a very lucky father your son could have died in a matter of 30 minutes” I stayed in that hospital for 3 days I finally went back home. The doctor said I was not able to play football anymore.. I was so upset, but after that life lesson it did not stop me I kept practicing I always told me dad I can’t give up I would go outside playing around with my ball finally I hit middle school and I went out for the football team. I tried my best for a spot and guess what I got a spot as a running back. That year was the best year I’ve had. After that life lesson it told me to get back up and guess where I am now. I am in high school getting scouted as a D1 runningback getting offers left and right one from LSU, Ohio state just remember to never give up and you will get to where you want to be

Everything is possible with God, He let this man live when those other 24 people died. He clearly has a plan for your life; to inspire many people

I'm 17 years old and listen to this made me cry and this about my life and my future I know sometimes I can be very selfish to everyone around me and especially my mom who put in her all into me and my siblings and I now realize that I need to thankful for the gift I have been given Now I know I need to change
