Thank you so much! I just wanted to express my gratitude for the video you posted on KZbin. Five years ago I found your video and it helped me fix my icemaker back then, and now that it started acting up again, I found your video once more and was able to fix it again. Your video has saved me so much money, and I can't thank you enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Same exact problem! Our ice machine has been turned off for over a year because I didn't want to put the money into calling a repairman to look at it! I purchased a couple of ice trays and was making ice that way. Pain in the rear! Your video was awesome and I had no idea where the hidden button was until I watched this video! I took the hair drying to the area you showed and after two attempts (had some spitting and sputtering of water) it's now working! Thank you!

I noticed that this happens as seasons change bc we are heating Instead of a/c and I have came back to this 1 video to make sure areas were cleared. 💪works now... thanks again!

Wow - thank you so much! We had tried everything, including the "hidden" switch, but finally spent about 5 minutes with the hair dryer to thaw the ice in the dispenser. As someone else said, your description of how the ice had built up around the seal/door was what made me realize this video was the solution. In case it matters, we had some plumbing work done and the water turned off, which introduced air in the pipes. I suspect when the water was turned back on, the water line sputtered and sprayed water inside the compartment and that froze around the seal, causing the freezing on the dispenser. Thanks again!

You are seriously a blessing! We had a power outage and I had to get the ice out of the bin, but it wasn't making anymore ice! I had no idea about that tiny little button! I was able to push it and was able to clear out the ice machine! Thank you again!!

Man, thank you for posting this. I read every troubleshooting article I could find and not a damn one said where that button is on the bottom left side of the icemaker. Several referenced a text button. None did where the hell it was. So thanks again!

Thanks so much. Pushing the test button made my tray dump the solid ice and the tray refilled correctly. I think my issue is actually with the sensors then. But your video helped me confirm it wasn't a lot of other parts!

Thanks for the video. in addition to the ice build-up, I had to clean out the tip of the water supply. The unit had to be removed from the door, but well worth it. The hard water had caused a build-up, causing a spray that missed the tray.

Thank you, watching your video helped me fix mine. My ice tray was not filling with water, I had heated it with a hair dryer but that didn't help. When you showed the button that you push to rotate the tray, that did it. Once I pushed the button to get the ice tray to rotate, and return back to normal position, it tripped some switch and the water came on and filled the tray.

That really helped,thanks! I found a line of ice above the gasket on the door. It must have been caused by water leaking and freezing again and again until it was enough of a gap for warm air to get in there and cause a problem. I should be drinking margaritas this time tomorrow!

Thank you. That's exactly my issue... Water leaking when it fills the tray and it's freezing under the ice bucket. It eventually gets into the ice dispensing hole, freezing the Cubes together and then it won't dispense. I haven't tried your fix yet, my ice tray dumps the ice, but it's leaking every time it fills up... So I'm hoping it's just the issue your describing and not a hole in the water hose. Going to try it tomorrow.
@paulchurchward61055 жыл бұрын
Did you end up finding out how to fix it with the leaking? My fridge is doing same thing. Also is the tray supposed to spin 180º and then slightly twist to then dump the ice into the bin? I tried the fix this guy did in the video, and seemed to work, but the ice tray seems to get stuck on the last rotation which made me think that's suppose to happen so it twists the tray so the cubes fall out
@M-Capone5 жыл бұрын
@@paulchurchward6105 yes, it is supposed to twist to dump the ice at the end. So mine continued to leak, until I pushed in on the plastic to the right of the tray. I pushed in and it clicked a little bit, and all of a sudden it stopped leaking. So my thinking is that the part on the right side that hides the tubes and whatnot, maybe popped out. Not a lot, but enough to make it leak. Anyway that's how I fixed mine. Don't put a ton of pressure on it, but I gave it a good push in until I heard a few clicking sounds. Since then I have not had any leaks.

My LG LXF 25778 ice maker stopped working. Pressing the test button failed to do anything. Per this video instructions... a hair dryer, 5 minutes later let it sit and warm up. Pressed the test/cycle button and the issue cleared. Water tray filled again. Test Procedures... Step 1 check the water system with both doors closed and see if the water dipenser works. If the water dispenser works the issue is likely ice blockage. Step 2 press the test / cycle button located on the left side of the ice maker. If like mine it doesn't move, try a hair dryer and heat the whole ice maker assembly concentrating on the water fill and tray. Be patient; wait 5 minutes or more. Step 3. If both doors are open, close the right door, you only need the ice maker door open, Press the door switch and the test switch at the same time and check to see if the ice tray starts to move. The Ice tray cycled and returned to its home position and the water dispenser filled the tray. My issue appears to be resolved. I sincerely hope this helps. James

That switch! I was able to get the tray to turn over finally and dump out a huge block of ice. It was like it forgot to dump a batch of cubes at some point. When the water came on for the next round, it filled the tray to capacity and then began leaking out of the dispenser. The overfilled tray had frozen up and everytime the water came on, it spilled over and went right down the chute onto the floor.

Does anyone know what makes the ice maker cycle? In other words what triggers it to cycle. Mine seems to be working fine. I push the button for 10 seconds and it recycles fine and fills up with water. It just does not cycle on its own. I have to push the button every few hours. I disconnected the power to the refrigerator for 10 minutes to reset everything and the cycled the ice maker. it still does not want to cycle on its own.

We have same Model Refrigerator Kenmore Elite 795.... Yesterday I tried to get ice for my coffee. It's not working. THE ICE MAKER NOT MAKING ICE. This never happened since we bought it 3 years ago. The problem is we only have 1 year Manufacture guarantee and I don't want to pay $200-$300 for the new ICE MAKER. Now what? This is what did. 1) Open the ice compartment (I's located inside the TOP LEFT DOOR). Just pull the grey handle. Then I can see there is no ice in the ice bucket, Of course. 2) I removed the ice bucket then reached inside the ice tray. There is full tray of ice. What happened?. It must be stuck or the sensor is not working. 3) I pressed the re-set button for 3 second (its a small button located on the bottom left of ice maker head). It rotated and dump all the ice out then automatic filled with water. You think the problem solved, right? Not so fast. After put everything back the way it were. I wait for 4-5 hours later. STILL NO ICE. Checked the ice tray, its only water. 4) Scratching my head and don't know what to do next. Then I found out that the temperature were accidentally set for too high (39 and 8 degree). The IDEAL TEMPERATURE is 37 for Refrigerator and 0 for the freezer. 5) After I lower temperature. I UNPLUG the power for 1 minute then plug it back in to re boost the system. It works. Now we have ICE.
@petercrist89126 жыл бұрын
Why would you have to "re boost"
@geordab3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for posting the ideal temps for the frig an freezer! I have had issues with this icemaker and finally found the proper temps but forgot what they were! I think sometimes my family is accidentally hitting the temp buttons and changing temps instead of hitting the ice/water button and then it stops making ice.
