I'm a student in college and I have such a passion for makeup because seeing someone else get excited and happy about what makeup can do for them makes me happy. I've been trying to get into sephora/ulta/Mac and I've been a little discouraged lately but this video has built my confidence back up. Camille, this is a wonderful, down-to-earth tutorial for young women and men who want to go after their dream of becoming a MUA! I'm a 54 yr old hairstylist and recently (within the past 10 yrs) have added MAC to my extensive drugstore/department store kits. One of my best friends of many years always had to have the expensive makeup and skin care and I felt I got just as good results with my Cover Girl, Maybelline, etc makeup and soap and water cleanser.

part 2.... I always received compliments and NO ONE guessed that I didn't use the expensive stuff. I used the same brushes for years and recently 'invested' in a Sigma brush set. I, too, over the years read about makeup in books and fashion magazines, and studied the new colors for each season. We studied makeup and skin care in beauty school. Keep spreading your message, okay? You are probabaly opening doors for people who thought they were closed to them. You're a sweet and generous woman.

All I have to say is WOW! This is such an eye opener. I know for myself I am a Covergirl addict and have always felt like their stuff was just as good. Love this video. I teach classes just for basic applications for women that know nothing about makeup. One of the first things I teach them is you don't have to spend a mint to have great makeup. There are quality products (brushes included) for very reasonable prices. Wet-N-Wild is one of my fav brands for eye shadow and probably will always be :)

Now that I'm finished my MBA I've found my love for makeup again. And its not easy as you've said. It's hard and frustrating. Nowadays the department stores don't care as much if you know how to do makeup or not. They want to know that you can sell, sell, sell. All but one MAC makeup store/counter that I've been to here in S. California, most of the girls are snooty and have attitudes and will ignore you unless you come in looking like you're going to drop tons of cash. I'm glad to hear that there are some "nice" and helpful beauty advisors out there. You seem like someone who genuinely loves to help others.Good 4 you.

i love you! haha. you keeps it realz. i'm just starting my little makeup "journy" i had a freelance interview at bobbi brown last week. And tomorrow i have an interview at MAC tomorrow for freelancing. I'm at the "bring in a model" phase.

And yes i thought i need MAC makeup and all the high end stuff to start out but i dont an i now realize that. Your so sweet. This video was one of the best I've seen. I am 16 and I really want to live in la and do makeup. I want to start out at Macy's or something like that and work my way up to company's like that :) u gave me hope.

I was just going trough youtube and i saw your video" How i became a MAC makeup artist" and wow you are awsome, everything i wanted to hear from someone. you made it clear to me... i love make up and i always wanted to work in a makeup counter specially MAC, but for some reason i always get discourage because those girls they be looking very flawless and beautiful with their, and their skills are awsome.. Thanks for your points and encouragement
