Besides the pop-up, another way to tell the turkey is done, is to move the leg. It will move freely if the bird is cooked. This has worked for 60 years for me

@auntissie if you push on the part right after it says "1 product more" it drops down..keep scrolling in the drop down..and it says $79.99 but after that it says $55.99 and above that it gives the link and the code to get the discount...hope this helps

Cook it for 20 minutes per pound then use a regular meat thermometer if you have one in the thickest part of the breast. It needs to reach 165. I wouldn’t check it until my time per pound was up

I ALWAYS put the seasonings under all the skin as far as I can get, so it'll season every bit of the meat. Since my son is extremely lactose intolerant, I use margarine to brush all over the turkey/chicken. But your's looks good too. 😊

Hi Pam, I kind of do the same thing you do the only differences I start my roaster with chicken or turkey upside down and cook for half the time then I turn over the bird and cook on the other side so that I have a brown skin on both sides. Many years ago, I would say about 30 years ago I used to watch emeral Lagasse and he told us to do that. It used to be funny because he used to say why only brown one side why not brown both sides so that’s what I do. It’s a little harder with a big turkey but between myself and my husband we get it done. Thanks for the video. You’re always fun to watch.

I love how you explain and demonstrate all the steps so clearly, and am remembering the young lady who wrote in how much you helped her. Or maybe her mother wrote in. The point is how much your videos helped someone just starting out with cooking. Also - I love love love how you talked about food safety and your plans to clean the jars afterward. I cringe at other channels with poultry handling where many items are touched with no mention of cleaning or hand washing. Thank you.
