This is exactly kzbin.infoUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS what I needed to get some exercise while I'm stuck at my desk all day. It's just the right size. Only downsides are that the right oeddale unscrews itself while I use it and increasing the tension causes it to squeak while in use. Both are minor issues that aren't that important to me. So I give it 5 stars.

Hacksquat-variation and legpress are currently my 2 mains. Dropset of death on legpress is always fun, dropping one plate all the way down to 1 plate. Makes you appreciate air and be able to breath normal. Another ”fun” quadkiller is picking a song, around 4min long, and then doing 1 set of leg extensions until the song ends. 1 minute is easy, the last 3 are pure pain.
@AidanArentz4 жыл бұрын
It's great to mix it up with regular barbell squats and other assisted squats, like the hack squat machine. One issue I've had personally, is using machines too much, then ending up with a strength imbalance between by legs and core/back. I got to a point where my back and core would tire much faster than my legs, which began to mess up my barbell squat technique. By the 3rd set I would start to slouch, but my legs would still be O.K.

Thank you for this Eugene ❤ I'm 6'2 and 323 pounds (was 330 2 months ago so I must be doing something right lol). I just started the gym and I was trying the barbell squat, I got 3 sets of 5 for 50 kg and could really feel the burn however, it's just so awkward positioning myself under the bar, my legs are quite long compared to my torso so I found myself tilting. I was walking around the gym and saw the hacksqaut machine and thought to give it a go, and although it was very new to me, it felt so much safer. I'll keep using it as my main quad developer from now on, along with the leg press and the splits. Hope you're keeping well brother, and thank you again.

All of these are good. The one exercise I had to quit after I hit 60, was the leg press machine. Reason being is that excessive weight led to excessive groin/pelvic strain and dislocated bone. It is alot safer to do regular hack squat machines or squats. The natural movement prevents injury as long as you don't over strain your back.

Love your description about task failure vs muscular failure. I noticed every time I have failed on a back squat is due to ankle mobility or back fatigue. I started trying to do landmine goblet squats and that's when I truly felt my quads fatiguing me.

Hey Eugene, thank you for the awesome content as usual. Your channel is pretty much the only place I turn to these days when I'm actually trying to learn something new on the topic - and I did - regarding the aspect of the difference in hip flexion on the rear leg when doing split squats. You brought up an awesome point there. I totally agree with you on your preference for the hack squat. However, I am also a big fan of elevated heel squats; since with the right amount of elevation, you can get that super effective straight torso setup even with a barbell. I implement all three.

And now that I’ve had my spinal fusion and recovering I’m looking forward to engaging my legs in some training again. Question, is that your personal training facility seen the videos? Take a look at some of my videos maybe there’s something we can collaborate on sometime and you can help get my legs caught up to my upper body ;) Adam

Yeh I had that problem too. I found time under tension training helped a great deal. Concentrating on glutes helped, dead lifts, hip thrusts. But I still love those BSSquats. The limiting factor for me turned out to be ankle mobility. Being aware of how it was throwing my form off and stretching to get every bit of flexibility out of them I could combined get with TUTT for better control I got a good degree of improvement.
