On my third attempt. 1st were short and slim, second were very very long but slim and these 3rd batch are in the middle :P Think I defo need to weigh them down, thats the only thing left to try. My mung beans also seem half the size of yours.

i feel the mung beans we get here in the west are just trash. i have tried so many things and i just get nothing but thin sprouts from them. i even bought a machine for it with no improvement.
@cragzuk2 жыл бұрын
@@pino_de_vogel yeah tried weighing them down. They are not growing thick at all lol

@@cragzuk I tried weight and temps ranging from 18 to 28c and nothing did the job i just find the stringy things unedible. I kindda gave up as if even full auto machine cant seem to do it i dont know what will.

@@pino_de_vogel I think you are 100% right. I think this was my last try. Even the tinned beansprouts in brine are better :D

@@cragzuk Try baby sliced corn or bamboo shoots as a alternative if you want something crisp in say a stir fry or sweet and saur sauce or even soup. you are going to have to take a gamble on bamboo shoot brands tho. Some are awersome and some are utterly disgusting.

Why do my mung beans come out pink to purple?! I keep them from light and still!
@happilyhealthy48232 жыл бұрын
Hm are you making sure to remove every single last mung bean shell? I found that my first few tries were purple because of that

Soaking for 2 days. Why put some plate on top? What is the purpose?
@happilyhealthy48233 жыл бұрын
The additional weight weighing down on the sprouts results in thicker sprouts instead of tall thin ones!
@beedoo623 жыл бұрын
Not adding some weight on the top will also result in letting the sprout leaves grow fast.

Do you know black garbage bags are toxic to food? That is what my boss was told by health department.
@yuchinglo51923 жыл бұрын
The garbage bag had no contact to the beans. It really doesn't matter.
