I have a 14 year old son who got into boxing training. These Shraims Acadamy videos have helped him exponentially. We just got a speed bag and double end bag at home. After he watched some of these videos, I'm amazed at how quickly he has improved. Thank you for sharing your expertise. It's very generous of you.

I purchased both the medium kzbin.infoUgkxfh2XUOHWYHKQYOvSq2gZ6PyCmVkTFGWz and small speed bags from Meister. I'm very glad I got both as the workout is quite different from the two. The small is fantastic for getting your speed built up once familiar with your striking. The medium bag provides a considerable amount more resistance building more strength in your punches. I highly recommend both sizes.Some people have expressed concern over the latex bladder leaking down more frequently than the traditional rubber. I have not found this to be an issue at all.

Dude, this guy is really good at teaching stuff. I've watched other people's videos about boxing and they didn't explain it as concisely as him. Goes to show you that teaching is an art in of itself. Nice work!

I have so much fun on this bag ,I don't know why the double end bag is not used more but it's really a good piece of equipment .you can work on reflexes of course ,rythm ,you can use your imagination to punch from angle whatever you feel is good it's your choice ,there is not a really one way to punch this thing ,that's why I think it's fun .I really improve my left hook thanks to it. slipping incoming bag is also fun and a great way to learn slipping.a great tool really. everyone has his preference but I let it a little loose not too tight like that it swing back at you like a counter therefore it allows you to step up your game in no time .great video thanks. Side not beware of the return your nose will break easy.👊

15 years of boxing and I've never truly learned how to work this bag. Going to work on incorporating at tomorrow. Most coaches don't emphasize it's use; most gyms don't have one; when a gym does have one, it gets detroyed pretty quickly and they don't replace it.
@AhmedShraim5 жыл бұрын
It is because most trainers don't really know how to use it. It is not an easy equipment to train with but it has plenty of great potential to increase a boxer's speed, precision, reflexes and reaction time. Glad you found it useful. update me if you don't mind at some point.
@10oner3 жыл бұрын
Ive never been in a gym without one and most coaches will say its the most important thing in the gym

This bag has been key to keeping you footwork and speed up with the current situation - no sparring, lots of closed gyms. Missing is actually the best part, as it keeps you from leaning into your punch. I don't even use the speed bag anymore'! Subbed. :-)
@LogiForce862 жыл бұрын
It's like a dribble in basketball but than a bit differently. Improving your timing and accuracy as you get more provicient and than speed comes in, and after speed you get strength control and then start to mix it up with maybe a hook and try to hit a sideways moving target and so on. At least that's how I imagine it to be as a beginner... just bought one of these instead of a heavy bag.

Actually you want one that sways more and sways faster. this way you are forced to slip and slip fast. Check out chris Algieri's video on here, it's the best set up ive seen.

What height should the bag be in relation to your body? I see one video and it was at head height, this one here is almost chest height.
@AhmedShraim4 жыл бұрын
Punching for boxing requires you to hit at eye level when you train to increase shoulder stamina. So the bag needs to be a little bit higher for my hight if possible. But since many of my boxing students are younger and shorter than me, it is set up at that hight.
@LeandrosAmarantidis4 жыл бұрын
Should i fix my bag to be at chin or shoulder level ? Like where my opponents chin would be ?
@AhmedShraim4 жыл бұрын
Actually you wanna keep it at eye level or a little bit higher to keep your hands up and develop stamina in your shoulders.

Which is the Best Quality bag? What size is it? I've seen 5" - 7" & 9" - Where do you get the Bungee cords? I agree with everything he said. Great information right here. Stay Safe.

I just started with this bag. Harder than it looks. Should I always use gloves or does it matter?

it is best that you use gloves always. It will help you on the long run.

The bag keeps swinging side to side and in circles when I hit it... what am I doing wrong? Accuracy? Not hitting it center enough?
@AhmedShraim3 жыл бұрын
Try loosening the tension on the ropes and hit a little lighter.
@Acesahn3 жыл бұрын
@@AhmedShraim Thank you for replying, but for the record: Its NOT supposed to swing in circles, forcing me to cross my punches to make it swing back the other way? lol. I just want to know if this is a technique problem or my bag has cheap bungies.
@JD-oe5uc3 жыл бұрын
@@Acesahn it is not the bag or ropes....it is you 😉 It looks easy, but it is quite hard. Try to use short and light punches (stand close to the bag). Barely touch it..just enough to move it a little bit. Once you master the rhythm you can increase distance and power in steps.
@Acesahn3 жыл бұрын
@@JD-oe5uc Ive gotten to the point where I can punch it consistently, though I still end up punching across my chest every other strike. With no formal training its the best I can do I suppose, but its at least a great workout. I do 1 minute on, 30 second off for 30 minutes.

@jameslyons66554 жыл бұрын
That bag is too tight and too low. Ideally it should be at your eye level and a good punch should have it rebound enough that you need to block or evade it.
