Your English is very impressive! And they're very good tips. I'm amazed at the number of people learning languages who don't write down the new words/expressions they learn - it really is one of the best ways to expand your vocabulary in my opinion. Making an effort to then use those new words is also key.

I absolutely love you. Im a mum of 2 under 3, Currently living in Australia. And i have struggled with English enormously to the point that i thought that there was something wrong with me but here im again back to my English notes and KZbin channels. Gracias

wow, I am so impressed with your English and Accent, I've been in the UK for almost 10 years, after few years of learning to speak, listen and write I feel like I am stuck now in the same level for a while and haven't been able to improve or expand in the past 3-4 years. I am starting University this October and I need to improve otherwise is going to be very challenging for me. I will watch some more of your videos and get some tips from you. Keep posting.

Set up a reminder to review your words once a week. Study for 5 days, review for 1 day and take a day off on the 7th day. This approach worked for me and for thousands of my students.

All tips were spot-on, congrats! English teacher here, for almost 20 years, couldn't have said it better myself to all my students asking me how to increase their vocab. That's exactly what I do in order to increase my vocab. There's no end to it really, we should all come to terms with it and enjoy the journey! That said, there's a lot of work put into reaching your absolutely impressive command of English, so thanks very much for making it understood that hard work pays off in the end. I had to laugh with Chanticleer (funnily enough I, too, was under the mistaken impression that it was pronounced "sh-auntie-clear") because it reminded me of my university days studying Chaucer and the "Nun's Priest's Tale" where the animal is mentioned. Once again congrats on everything, family, English, vlog/blogging... Your videos are a breath of fresh air. Kudos form Athens, Greece.

Ysis, I've been following your videos on motherhood and English tips & tricks for quite a ehile now and I must say that you are getting better and better at this. This last video was very helpful and right on point. I would love to see more videos like this one here. How about making one - or a series of them- to cover pronunciation in general and also focosing the sounds of vowels -short and long ones- pointing out the differences in sound, mouth and tongue position as you say them, specially for confusing pair words which vowel sounds do not occur in other languages such as : wander x wonder; warm x worm x feel x fill x man x men, pool x pull, just to name a few... I personally reckon you would make a brilliant English teacher as a second language..you've got all it takes to achieve that: fluency, clarity of speech, patience, kindness and so on.. I trully appreciate your initiative in encouraging others to learn and master their English. Thanks a lot! xx

Hi, Lorenna, Thank you for providing such tips I also learning vocabulary but applying something like you and many other mine, English contain millions of word it is impossible to learn all. However one of the best method to learn a news paper or magazine by topic and/or listen different channel by this way your vocab, topic and comprehension improve as well. By applying this method you can get real pattern of language and do less mistake. Just like you get the fluency in English. I already use thesaurus.com which is very helpful for improving synonyms. I recently follow Hadar channel she choose American English and you select British English. Though there is quite distinct between American and British but its not matter whatever you opt to the vital is you learn excellently. I love your fluency you spent 7 years of your life in England that is great for your English and your career.

One of the many ways to commit new vocabulary to memory is to visualise it. In other words, use your imagination and turn the word into a picture or a scene in your head that illustrates the meaning of the word or expression you're studying. I used this technique in one of my video lessons ("How to Say You're Busy") in order to provide the potential students with an example. I hope this helps!

I believe 7 years is enough time to learn a language, if you put that as a priority you'll definitely do it. I did the same. I have been living in USA for 6 years now and I already got a good job and I am able to speak without hesitation. There is always room to improve of course like pronunciation, grammar structure etc. I would say..... is not that she is excessive smart is just that she is dedicated and all human beings can do it is just about dedicate time and effort. For sure it would be easier for those like her and me whose main language is from a latin roots.

There are hundreds of ways to be as good as we dream off, however, the most hardest thing that I ever failed to do is the commitment/sustainability of keep working on that dream... For instance, yesterday, I vowed to myself that I need to at least found one new vocabulary per day.. But, today, I felt like, hmmm, 'can I just do that tomorrow?' So means that, for tomorrow, there are two new vocabulary that I should jot down in my diary... Make it worse, the next day also the same, got nothing.. It's so hard to give a commitment.. I'm doomed.. What to do!
