As an owner of a 98 Mustang GT, I appreciate your videos of the Drift 'Stang. Although mine is a daily driver, you have given awesome details on things I needed to do to her. With your help, I have replaced control arm bushings, ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, anti-sway bar bushings and end links, front wheel bearings, upgraded brakes all around, wheel spacers and you even helped me diagnose a fuel delivery problem. The fuel issue turned out to be worn wires at the rear wiring harness that was rubbing the insulation off of the wires where it over hung the lip of the fuel tank. One problem that has taken about 9 months to figure out was a clunking noise whenever the front suspension loads and unloads. After many online Mustang forum searches, it turned out to be loose bolts at the k-member stabilizer bar at the rear of the k-member. It runs under the oil pan. I didn't even know it existed! Thank you for all you do!

You should look into a PI head and intake manifold swap. It's the heads and manifold from the 99-04 mustang GT's and is a good bump in power (about 20-30hp). It's a popular mod for your year of stang!
@joshn9386 жыл бұрын
The PI heads, plus a CAI , throttle plenum, off road x or H pipe, and catback exhaust will yield a good 40-50 ponies over stock and about the same increase in torque, for around 1500 bucks. Some 3.73 gears will help with getting off the line too! A lot of people hate the SN95 because they are slugs from the factory, but even the automatic cars have a lot of potential and the fact that nobody wants them makes them cheap and ideal project cars!

NİKOLA TESLA : I miss my Rwd volvos... They had an incredible (to me) turning radius for such an average car, it always foot comments from passengers. Pretty sure if I did this to my fwd car the axle would fall apart, haha. Or I'd have to be careful to never load it up while turning hard.
@DracoRemixer6 жыл бұрын
volvo09 My V50 also has a really tight turning radius, it's awesome! I just found some website to compare turning the radius, and actually my FWD has 0,2 meters tighter of a radius than a 850. Interesting to know! :) A relative to mine owned a Renault Kangoo, and wow the turning radius sucked on that little car compared to what I am used to!

Ruthlessnoodle - it could be argued that doing almost anything to a car is a total waste of money... Modifications (not repairs) rarely increase value. Based on that you modify a car to suit your own taste and needs, not someone else's.
@Candisa6 жыл бұрын
DracoRemixer An 850 is also FWD, longer and actually steers like a van, so turning 0.2m shorter isn't really impressive. Compare it to a 740 or 940, even longer but RWD. I've owned a Renault Clio, that thing was ridiculous, such a tiny car and I did 5-point turns where my Volvo 940 could almost make it around in one go.

I have seen this video about 3 times now, and I am legally changing your name to(drum roll please) Crisdrift!! You were really ripping that car in the video I think your channel is great for people who are afraid to try fix their own car , and once they get over it you show how to do modify the car. All in all great stuff keep it up! P.s. my neighbor has a mustang like yours for sale, but I am not a Ford guy! See you soon.

One thing I always learn from you is I need a torque wrench
@Kingus_Dingus5 жыл бұрын
Thomas Anderson and a breaker bar and the all important thread-locker...blue removable type lol
@fr33ourminds5 жыл бұрын
@@Kingus_Dingus Its so true though. I already used a breaker bar and thread glue but I never used a torque wrench. I got a hold of the service manual that mechanics use for my truck and all over it tells you what torque should be applied. I went to harbor freight and got a cheap but accurate torque wrench and if nothing else, it gives me peace of mind.
@Kingus_Dingus5 жыл бұрын
Thomas Anderson right though. You know how much a quality torque wrench cost? Like jeez lol but harbor freight you say?
@fr33ourminds5 жыл бұрын
@@Kingus_Dingus Yeah I know what you mean. Harbor Freight sells garbage a lot of the time but I seen 2 reviews on KZbin comparing the Harbor Freight torque wrenches to Snap On torque wrenches and the Harbor Freight proved to be the better tool in terms of accuracy and it has a lifetime warranty. Obviously the Snap On tool has excessive markup. Price doesnt always mean quality, sometimes its taking advantage of peoples gullibility.

Ive always gone with ye olden tighten until it pops the back it off a smidge so seeing him use a torque wrench all the time is odd

I wouldn't say it's bad engineering. Cars are designed to be assembled quickly, efficiently and cheap. They probably don't care about disassembly as much as assembly. But that still makes me go WTF??? I had no idea you were making a drift car. Looks sweet!
@MrXxjdm6 жыл бұрын
have you missed all the other mustang vids on this channel? he says it multiple times. and even when he was buying the stang he asked for our opinion on what to buy as a drift car, and the stang won.
@chrisfix6 жыл бұрын
It was obviously the cheapest way to do it and that is their goal so. But from the consumer diy point of view, definitely a bad design.
@jblob57646 жыл бұрын
Well when they installed it the subframe was out of the car it's all installed as a unit. If you dropped the whole subframe out it'd be cake
