How To Install An Engine Support Bar | OEMTOOLS 3 Point Support Bar

We're almost ready to remove the front suspension subframe from this 2006 Acura TL. Before doing so, we need to hold the engine and transmission in place. You could use a floor jack along with jack stands but that would severely limit the working room. Using an engine support bar is best.
The instructions included with the kit recommend using grade 5 (or above) rated bolts.

Lifting points on that engine. 1. Eyelid directly behind power steering pump. 2. Eyelid directly behind the positive batt terminal and low, slightly under the intake booth. (Mine was painted black) 3. Eyelid directly aft and left of the transmission fill port on the driver side, look down and slightly left. Looks like the one behind the Power steering. (Slight harder to see) Alternatively, the engine mount brackets are also options or supplement points I would personally use.

If you're attempting to drop your transmission(for service) his method is the most ideal. If not dealing with the transmission, yes, do use the the available brackets on the transmission itself.

Wow! I am absolutely shocked that the engine bar chain would need a minimum of two engine bolt to attach itself to. I wouldn't believe it because of all the stress that those two bolts would have to endure. Great video! Thanks for the upload.

Are you at all concerned that the front leg next to the radiator could slip? I also have a 08 TL type S and looking to invest in one of these. No concern. The no-slip legs of the tool help. However, just use a block of wood and place on top of the radiator support.
