TIP: For anyone with this kit or similar and is still having issues after wiring it like the video here is a fix. Plug the pins into the connector just as it shows in the video. When you plug the connector into the red part on the ballast just flip them around on both of them. Mine actually had a positive and a negative mark on each one to match them up. So you’ll want the positive side to go into negative slot and the negative side to go into the positive side if that makes sense. Many hours of frustration and this is what finally got mine to work correctly.

@jbmjbm3238 жыл бұрын
Good video sir. People doing installs (plug & play installs) with just the factory stock wiring may end up ruining/overheating the wires cause of what you said...the ballast uses alot of current to start up. And that is why you used relay harness because it uses the right awg. gauge wire for the ballast and it gives it the amount of power it needs to work.
@galodoidousarenato55042 жыл бұрын
Hi Sir, Can you tell me if the kit works without the relay harness? because the one I bought on Amazon doesn't have a harness
@jbmjbm3232 жыл бұрын
@@galodoidousarenato5504 it should still work. My only opinion though when you connect it direct to the headlight plug, the stock wiring for the bulb may overheat and burn out the wire if the stock fuse does not blow because HID startup uses alot of volts/amperage it says on the ballast. I use a relay for my hid lights because I can hook up a bigger gauge wire to run my hids. The headlight plug runs to a relay, then the relay would switch on and send power from the other wire I use to power my hids. You should check out videos on youtube on how automotive relays work. But without a relay, your hid kit should still work. Just read the instructions...

Yes it is a fuse. Yes one headlight connector plugs into the relay harness (normally the side closest to the battery) the other one is left unplugged, since it just sends signal from factory harness to relay so you just need to connect one side.

Hey I’m using HID lights with 55W ballast for my fog light and the fuse keeps on blowing. From my understanding is the during startup the HID draws a high current and will drop back down. So you are using only 1 OEM headlight plug to give a signal to harness relay. The other OEM plug is unused, so you should get an error on the dash that the bulb is gone (from the side the OEM plug is unused). Isn't that right? Or does it throw an error on both sides, because the relay isn't drawing enough amperes from OEM plug and ECU thinks bulbs are gone?
@dial2fast9 жыл бұрын
The trigger to the relay is coming from one headlight only. Most Japanese and US cars don't give any headlight errors. I think BMW and Mercedes will. If your car does, then you can try connecting the ballast to the headlight plug (plug and play install) without using the relay. Otherwise, check on the net to see how others are doing it.

Will instilling this fix the problem of my headlights flickering?
@dial2fast9 жыл бұрын
+Nick Klink Headlight flicker is because your amp is drawing a lot of current when you have the stereo cranked. Using a relay kit for your lights will not fix the flicker. Also you don't have to use a relay for the lights if the factory harness provide enough current.

+dial2fast thank you for your reply, I suspected I didn't need a relay harness as my friend did not need one. Thank you for your input keep making great videos good sir 👍🏼

did you have a actual OEM connector for the ballast? I had my HID kit installed years ago, and cent figure where they plugged the connector into. I been using the fog light connector since.

Throw away the old light bulbs and wiring?
@thebiggerman697523 күн бұрын
Im a little worried that if a short or ballast goes bad and the fuse blows you are left with no headlights thinking I may put a breaker in place of the fuse
@dial2fast22 күн бұрын
A ballast going bad will not blow the fuse. If the fuse pop, it's because there is a short with the wiring.
@thebiggerman697514 күн бұрын
@dial2fast well that's your opinion, when something electrical goes bad there's always a chance of a blown fuse and thus the loss of your headlights, that's why fuses are utilized if a ballast melts then that would be a short circuit , thanks for your input

Hi there. I need your help. I installed HID light on my car with relay harness and canceller but one side still keeps turning off. Please help me try figure out what is wrong? Thanks
@MrJh7707708 жыл бұрын
Hopefully you or someone reading this can help me with the issue I have right now but basically I was trying to install the hid kit with relay on my car and the passenger side of my hid bulb won't turn on and I couldn't figure out why. It was also making so buzzing noises which supposedly I heard that it wouldn't happen with a relay kit. I don't know if it was due to the fact that the plug that was plugged into the bulb was left hanging, but I only have one signal wire which is connected to the driver side.

How would we connect the HID Lows and HID Fogs both with wiring harnesses to the battery? Can we overlap them on the terminals? thank you
@dial2fast9 жыл бұрын
+Vinayak Riyat Yes, overlap the 2 ring terminals.
@vr49239 жыл бұрын
Hmm. Okay, Last time I did that, for some reason it drained my battery on my car and I had to take my car to the dealer and they said the positive terminal was loose. I am not sure if that's what caused the drainage in my battery or not, but I am a little uneasy as to hooking up my harness for both my sets of lights again, as the issue last time left me stranded on the side of the road. =/
@JuanMColacion9 жыл бұрын
If both hid light do not turn on and you switch its polarity and only one turns on then the only reason they'll have you buy a harness is to bypass their mistake. Just switch the pins in the connector that connects to the ballast. Both should work without switching polarity.

is there 1 connection on the ballast that wont need to be connected? i cant figure out where it goes, i left it alone (disconnected) and still work
@gameboy19846 жыл бұрын
Joaquin Sanchez there's nothing left unplugged the only wires on the ballast should be the wires going into it for power and the wires going out of it to the bulb

Those HID bulbs look like D2S's. Shouldn't you be using D2R's to for your application?

Not sure if you'll ever see this, im using d2s, I want to replace my harness cuz I'm having all kinds off issues, do I need to look for a specific harness?
