twicethespeed.... --- Instantly Jump Higher
In this video Jack Cascio shows how you can instantly jump higher using a simple 90 second full body dynamic warmup. If you are looking to dunk a basketball or just improve your over vertical leap then warming up your body correctly is a must. Jack Cascio believes that in order to jump higher you need to have everything in place and need to be training your vertical jump the right way. For more ways to instantly jump higher visit twicethespeed....

This is really going to help me out. I can already dunk, with one and two hands, but some days I'm just not feeling it. That's why there's only been 3 occasions where I could 2 hand dunk it. Definitely going to do this before the game tomorrow.

@djwessy

Your very right there. I might have to explain something else too. The warming up is really nessesary before a match. Again its something mental. The body doesn't need any warming up before a match due of the way the body uses its energy. Its all starts at ATP thats the energie that makes the muscles contract, there are more(cp, earobe & anearobe) but it allways comes back to ATP, when you do a warming up you try to get into earobe, but the fact is only ATP is used by the body,

I started out with a barbell on my back, jumped 4 inches, then increase with 10 lb. increments and 2 inches more each week. It improved my vertical from a 32 to a 39 in 2 months.

i have been following vertical jump systems for a long time and there are a lot of good systems out there including anything from Jack. I have to say though i came across a jumping program way back in 1996. This sysem was by far the best i have seen in over 20 years. The system i am talking about included work from Dr. Vurkhoshanski "the Father of Plyometrics". I thought that it would be very popular but i was wrong. Now it seems that all that knowledge is lost as it disappeared off the market.

Not sure about the jumpersknee, could be possible but its not really in my field of expertise. I see what you learned and that is what most people still know and believe. Recent researches have indicated that it allways comes back to ATP, the other energy systems arn't able to cooperate with the muscles to let them contract, they only can deliver the energy to remake the ATP and that is the source of energy that makes your muscle contract.

@VerticalJumpKing So you're a 2 footed jumper.. i'm kind of both.. i can grab the rim both ways but i can't dunk yet...that's my ultimate goal... so i've been training to run just on my toes and doing explosive standing jumps off my toes to train my quick muscles.. but when you go up for a jump do you actually jump off your toes or do you plant your whole foot on the floor and jump? even if you go for a one handed jump?

Yea, I am turning 16 this year and about 181cm so I'm about your height. I would recommend watching a variety of videos and trying out a variety of techniques. I've never tried it myself and no I can't dunk but I've seen so many of these videos I don't know which one to trust. So yea I would recommend you watch a variety of other videos. Not saying this video is wrong and discrediting the maker but you never know. No problem, From Australia!!!!

Hi, you know when you do the one footed jump, why do you kick backwards in midair? I thought for a layup take off you ram you knee up all the way through the jump?
@chesirish

mh, I've been taught about Aerobe and anaerobe work before, as well as ATP. However it looks to me as if what you were trying to write was "the warming up isn't really nescessary...", which sounds odd to me? If I try to do a big jump without warming up first, I'll not be able to jump as far, and even more important, my knees will start hurting. If I continue the pain in my knees will get worse - I believe that's how you get jumperknees if I'm not much mistaken?

So what you're saying is that the warmup is pretty much irrelevant? Is there somewhere where I would be able to read more about this, because it sounds a bit odd to me, as I've allways been told that warmup is crucial, both in terms of avoiding injury, and performance.

@TheJerkawokeez The best thing to do (at least for me), is to just keep jumping every chance you get. I jump up the stairs in my house, and in practice I try to touch the rim every chance I get. That was the difference for me barely touching the rim with the tips of my fingers in August, and 2 hand slamming it now.
