Ingredients for pholourie
1 cup water.
1 & 1/2 cup oil for frying.
2 cups all purpose flour.
1 cup split pear powder.
1 tsp grind cumin powder (Jeera).
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp instant yeasts.
1 tbsp baking powder.
1 tsp salt or to taste.
1 tsp garlic powder or minced garlic.
1 dozens curry leaves optional.
How to cook pholourie
In a large bowl add flour, split peas powder, baking powder, salt, instant yeasts, turmeric powder (saffron), grind cumin powder (jeera), garlic powder or minced garlic, chopped curry leaves (optional).
Combine all ingredients together.
Add water gradually to make thick batter. You can add more water if needed according to different texture of splits powder might require more.
let it rest for one hour to raise.
Heat oil in a heavy pot at medium heat
Dip tablespoon into water, then into batter drop tablespoon full few at a time. and fry turning continuously until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
Serve with tamarind or mango chutney.
