Another good one for your subs is to do with the difference between TT and race setups. I’ve just discovered after years of playing this game that I can knock my aero down roughly two notches front and back when moving from TT to race. You carry less speed in the race, lower engine mode, extra weight in car is working as increased downforce already, so no need for the higher downforce I guess.
@WillemstadPlug5 жыл бұрын
That extra fuel doesn't work as extra downforce, at least not for me. It gives me more understeer, and puts more stress on the tyres when braking, so increased chance of front lock ups in heavy braking zones.
@barters81245 жыл бұрын
WillemstadPlug I’ll be honest I’m only guessing. This is something I’ve learned from doing the e sport events and weeklies. I ended up running aero way lower than I thought I would/had for TT and ended up with better times. For instance I’m running 2-4 at China as Albon in this weeks weekly.
@WillemstadPlug5 жыл бұрын
@@barters8124 it may also be that you (maybe unconsciously) adapt your driving style during the race, like being a bit more conservative/careful, while in TT you go all out, since you know you can always just restart the lap.

When I turned it off I started with driving slow and picking points on the track and then going faster and faster. After a while you'll notice that on certain points you can brake later or that you need to break earlier for a better exit. You can also watch a vid of limitless for example and check his points and go from there.
@Dasidnii-5 жыл бұрын
Practice practice and practice. Start with learning the circuit itself first and then move to learning braking points. Best way to learn braking points is look for a braking marker before the corner (ex: marks on the asphalt, cones, curbs, markers on the fence etc) You won’t learn it overnight, it takes hundreds of laps of practice before you start to get the gist of it. When practicing you don’t have to go balls to the wall every lap when you’re trying to learn, take it slow and build up your pace each lap until you start getting comfortable.
@GscheidaBua5 жыл бұрын
For most tracks I brake at the 100 meters board at first try, if it's too late try 150 next time, and then adjust lap by lap to find the exact point. Other drivers like it more to start by breaking way too early and then break later and later every lap until it's perfect. But as people said before, practice is key, it can take some time to match the time you can do with the racing line on (And I for myself never manage to master Baku, the ... meters boards are too small for me to see and there are no visual points for me to have as a brake marker on that track)
@gordontracey56725 жыл бұрын
Can you start the mastering series soon, because I struggle with braking points, ers management, etc
@matthewmyatt26255 жыл бұрын
Gordon Tracey if u wanna learn braking points use the metre boards and use certain points next to the track to time ur braking, for example in Bahrain T1 use the kerb on the left to judge braking instead of boards, hope this was helpful 🙂

Wouldn't the counter argument to "let your tyres do the work early and engine later" be that the more grip you have the more power you can actually apply without wheelspin? So therefore you will use the ERS more efficiently and productively while the grip is there the handle it? Whereas when your tyres are gone you will have to apply less power anyways to avoid wheelspin?
