Great video. You illustrate your points really well. The footage of the car slowing down to show your actions step by step is impressive and helpful! I wonder though. Your theories about tyres seem sound for a real-life rally, but are details like "cutting through the softer top layer" simulated in the game? For example, would a very degraded, shaved-off snow tyre eventually develop better grip on tarmac because it now has a lot of contact area? Or is the game simply applying a certain grip coefficient based on tyre and surface type and then lowers grip as the tyre degrades?
@SimsRacingDesign3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment, mate. Always try to deliver quality. I do think the tyre degredation in the game is more of a coefficient that simulates it but it simulates it quite well, in my opinion. It does need some work between soft, medium and hard compound tyres because you never really need anything but softs in championships.

Sure, I can help you out with that. Just send a message to SRD on Facebook. It's easier to communicate and send images. You can find the link to my page at the bottom of the video's description.

What about tyre temperature and pressure in DR2? I sometimes hear a hissing noise after a jump from one of the tyres like air is escaping from a small puncture or something.
@SimsRacingDesign2 жыл бұрын
I hear the same thing from time to time but I can't tell you whether that's an actual feature or not. Nobody really touched on that before or asked the dev team. I might try to find out though as I'm very interested as well.

@@SimsRacingDesign Would be a really cool feature if you lose pressure from a hard impact but maybe it's for distraction.

This is all fine and dandy but the truth is the game artificially push your car to one side and the other like it's being attracted by a giant magnet when you touch the ice. Is not realistic at all and is just annoying. You go perfectly straight, you touch the ice and suddenly your car gets dragged by one side for no reason and you have to fight it to keep going straight. It's a terrible game mechanic. Without a good steering wheel this game it's just impossible.
