Mint is a fragrant herb used world all over in drinks, mouth fresheners, salads, curries and of course mint chutney. It is a cascading perennial plant, which is very invasive. It's better to grow it in containers. It likes a lot of sun and a lot of water. It is really beneficial in digestion, especially in the hot climate.

Its nice and of course smart that you actually show what the results can and should look like by having the different levels of the project available to show. So many gardening videos show you how to do something and then they are so eager to post that they just let you dream of what the results will be... so really they aren't very convincing and leave people with potentially unrealistic results. Thanks!

Thank you for posting this wonderful video. If I can find some mint stalks in my local grocery store I will try putting them directly into potting soil -- either traditional potting soil or perhaps coir. I like doing that to see if I can bypass the "rooting in water" step. With other plants, sometimes poking a stem in soil works, other times it does not.

Hi Easy Peasy Gardening! I am currently trying to grow mint roots from cuttings. I noticed that some of the roots are turning brown, and as you mentioned they're mature ones. But if the roots are not that long (but also brown) should I plant them or will they grow longer? They're less than 1 inch. Also, I noticed that some of the leaves have some large black spots - is this because there's too much water? Any help will be appreciated :)

Thank you for that, i have mint that's growing by a window and i would like to propagate a few outside in a shady area where it only gets sunlight during dawn, it gets very hot here and I've lost a few plants due to scorching. do you think it would survive if i propagate it directly outside in a shady area?

My mint plant is in a relatively large container pot but it has gotten very leggy and lost its lush foliage and so the stems are pretty sparse. I cut it back. But it still is not looking that great and one article said it’s probably from over fertilizing because it does get full sun in my driveway. Should I cut it back some more?

Stale water develops bacteria so changing the water helps. Also new water replenishes the oxygen.

@@EasyPeasyGardening I haven't tried this yet. My mint outside in my garden is small and dying. I wanted to cut some and try this method and replant them in the same spot to help it along. So you mentioned keeping the new mint indoors a few weeks and then switching to a bigger pot. Went can I plant them outdoors in my mint garden bed? I need help bringing my mint back to life. It's a sweet mint and perfect for teas so sometimes it hard to find that type in stores.

@@SonyaBay if it is growing outside, dig it up a bit and separate out some stems with the roots and plant separately outside. When it gets cold, bring it inside.
