This is because you actually didnt just become a Kanbei main, you always were, it was always inside you all along. These guidelines don't apply to the sigma Chad mindsets of Kanbei mains. You have a different DNA structure and are far superior to these tactics. The only tactic that applies to Kanbei mains needing to reach 1000, is to make sure you always have bases. As long as you have bases, you'll always win, simple tactic right? But other players dont understand the true depth of Kanbei needs bases.

Fun Fact I gave my mom my GBA with AW2 so she can have something to do since she has no internet. I came back a year later for Christmas and checked the file. From scratch she managed to S rank the entire war room. And she’s 65 now.

Another good tip, for fog play, is to review the other player's turn before making any decisions. A unit might have hid in a forest waiting to ambush you. Which also means that having good vision is important too.

I actually have some tips regarding CO Selection: Before a GL Match, I look at my opponent's profile. Check to see what is his most used CO, win ratio (GL and Casual) and maybe a recent replay to asses skill level. This is not 100% guaranteed, but if you know what CO he's likely to pick, you can counter pic.

I’m one of those 1000 rated players that got there by forcing myself to use the tactics and principles that Deejus mentions in his videos. It’s good advice, all of it, and it’ll change your game! Some of it is really hard to start making yourself do, like building recons in fog matches early, I always thought I was going to get blown out by tank starts, but a tank doesn’t just Ohko a recon, and you can hide it in a tree once it gets hit, the vision is insanely valuable! I also struggled to force myself not to slam in once I had an advantage in fights, but the truth is, you win games by funds advantages, and holding up when you’re ahead and letting the weak player push you is really effective. They’re only falling further behind with every turn they spend waiting, so they have to come to you.

I'm a newish player in AWBW but have been playing AW with friends in LAN for a long time and 1 thing I would add to these tips (although you kinda mention it) is to always produce infantry in later stages of the game. Many times my oponents will forget to build infantry and spam medium or regular tanks and I get more properties and win the battle later because he had no infantry to capture. Great vid as always man!

Regarding vehicles attacking infantry: a simple rule of thumb is that infantry smashing is an AUXILLARY role. (Except for Recons in non-fog) You only kill infantry with vehicles if you have nothing better to do and there's no risk. Note that positioning counts as both "better to do" and "risk".

depends on 2 factory maps some time it is worth it to hunt infanty as they wouldn;t have infinatry to cap even if they win the fight.

This is hard to cover in a video, but I think what keeps a lot of players below 1000 in standard is just missing tactics. Players at that level often fail to wall correctly or allow free attacks with clever unit placement. Coverage is important but you also need to notice things like "Hey my tanks are 6 spaces from each other but that becomes 8 spaces if my opponent moves his infantry just right." Another thing players at that level will do is trade army value or unit count for dubious positional gains or captures that can quickly be reversed. Learning when to retreat is often the difference between losing and baiting your opponent into overextending.

Another tip that may be important for a bit of higher level is to check both the map analysis and previous games on the map you will play on. especially if high rank players replays are available. because these would give you in most cases a good insight on how to gain advantage and what to prioritize in a matschup

I play since one month FOG only and i'm on the way to 1000 and i'm happy i'm already discovered almost all of this (except for elastic band). I would also add, that watch the replay of the last round is very important, if you play with FOG.

Came back here after hitting 1000+ in just three weeks of playing AWBW to thank Deejus again for his vids and his helpful GL replays on numerous maps that I studied furiously to develop better capture openings and builds. Beat several players better than me in a row using everything he goes over, and managed to make several come-from-behind wins from smarter, more patient play that I definitely lacked before I started paying attention to top players. STUDY HIGH MMR REPLAYS PEOPLE! They are an endless source of invaluable data, and it even helps to watch your current opponent's completed games to get a sense of their habits/build orders to get small advantages.

I'm just out of a fog league match where thanks to keeping my AA out of sight I could down 2 B-copters, on the other hand, I used my own B-copters in such way that I strike on one front to force AA on this side, then I switch it to the other side, so with a bit of luck, I now have a B-Copter where there is no AA, and the is an AA facing tanks.

Really good tips! While I've been playing competitive AWBW for only about 9 months, I've been playing the original games since 2015. At first I made a lot of mistakes, but slowly I started learning many of these tips from the AWBW Discord and got a bit better (hovering around 900 MMR right now) Though I expected to see more tips about proper builds/army composition tips (like how many tanks should you have before considering arties, when are APCs worth it, or how many B-copters are enough, etc) tbh, do you intend to include them in another video?

Here's a good tip, learn what makes a good opening. Having a better opening then your opponent can give you a big edge, from having more income, to having more units, to just having better map placement. I'm not joking when I say that a better opening can force your opponent to play 3D Chess while you get to play checkers.

Another one is using global damage COs, up until 900-1000s most players have trouble finishing a match due to overextending and losing their winning position making global damage hurt even more if the opponent has trouble ending the match.
