Good video. Question : I have a Thule Evo clamp base roof rack on my 2020 Acura RDX Just traded RDX in for 2024 MDX . Can I use the roof rack on the MDX?

Hello. The metal door frame brackets are coated in Pebax rubber to protect the vehicle's finish, no other material is necessary. Thanks.

My problem was getting the foot pack off of the square bars. Basically the lever had become over the years very stiff. I used good old WD40 to get into the joint. What I didn't want to do was snap the plastic lever which has been on my car in all weathers for about 4 year. That's in the UK so lots of damp driving conditions.

The mixture of weather and time can be really rough on most things, let alone roof racks. My advice on how to help would depend on which generation of Thule tower you have. The UK has slightly different roof rack systems then us in North America. WD40 is great for helping break up the rust. If you have a Thule 480 Traverse tower (my assumption) The lever at the back can be flipped/pried open by gently using a long handled screw driver. If the rust/corrosion is so bad that's not working it might require a replacement tower. I've had to use an angle grinder to liberate many bars from rusty/seized towers, or grab a rubber mallet to help force the issue. Hope that helps!

How do you replace the fitting kit for another vehicle? I purchased the new kit for my truck but I can't remove the old kit. I can't find a video anywhere to replace a kit for an Evo clamp 😭

Hello. The rubber bases peal off from the plastic bases, the brackets remove by pushing upward, then inward and down. Thanks!

What size is the tool you used to remove the rack? Not everyone has the tool handy, don't assume!

The tool is included with the foot pack but if you no longer have the tool, a 5mm hex wrench will work.

Hello. To remove the door frame bracket, push the bracket upward, then inward to release from the foot. Cheers.
