Love that you throw in jokes and don't take this all to seriously. You can really tell who is just a guy trying to sell a course and those who are trying to actually make a change by how seriously they take themselves. Too many self help people rely on emotionally charged statements and taking advantage of a fleeting sense of motivation rather than truly actionable steps.

Recently I rediscovered in my dream to be perfectly disciplined because I was inspired by a story that resonated with me more than any other story has it's a story about a hero who decides to follow her dreams with everything she has no matter how impossible her dream may be. And this story help me ReDiscover who I am. I am someone who strives for perfection pushing onward no matter how difficult or impossible it made be someone who pushes forward in spite of basically guaranteed failure to grow as high as I can possibly can even if I never truly reached my goal.

@spoonfedstudy recently what I've been doing to pursue this dream is trying to get the highest rank in fortnite's zero build ranked. I know it helps increase my discipline for several reasons. 1: I don't particularly enjoy playing fortnite. 2: I often find it discouraging to play in the ranked because I lose so often. 3: because it gives me a tangible goal that I can see how close I am to achieving. I've been chipping away at this for a little bit over a month spending hours trying to get better each day. It's not the most pleasant experience but I keep doing it because I know it's helping me be more disciplined and I plan to keep doing it until I reach that goal that seems so impossible right now and after that I'll try something even more difficult even if I don't know what that is right now.

This really came when I needed it. Just last night, due to my upcoming nightmarish physics exam I had an anxiety attack and just cried for two hours out of pure stress because I couldn't solve the questions and I felt worthless. Now I'm going to go back to studying and build my R up!!

Wow…the coincidence that this video pops up the day after I almost died after deciding to go on a solo hike in the mountains. I went with the intentions to test my limits and just to see what would happen. Taking shrooms probably wasn’t the best thing either, but I ended up hiking a good 4 miles in and stayed at a spot for a couple of hours. It started getting dark and the temperature started to drop to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. I looked over the mountain range where clouds started to come in as they started to fog up the view, and that’s when I knew I had to start heading back. I turned on the flashlight on my phone that only had 15% battery left. I almost panicked as I couldn’t find the trail as the shrooms left me disoriented and I had to scan my surroundings and form a recollection of which direction I had came from. I started to tell myself that nothing makes sense right now, but everything’s okay and it’ll all make sense later, then I started in the direction I believed was the right way. I went up for 10 minutes or so until I hit a spot that seemed to fade off and go off trail. I started to panic again as I sat down and laid on the floor. I looked off into the distance as I saw the lights from the city where I had drove from earlier. I almost thought I was going to be stuck out there and had to survive over the night and wish I was lucky enough to see the morning sun. I wanted to curl up in a ball for a split moment, but then I rationalized with myself and took some deep breaths and told myself I wasn’t going out like that. I then got up and realized that I can use my GPS to see where I was. I was able to get myself back on trail and all I had to do was keep following natures path. I kept my fingers crossed that my phone wouldn’t die because if it did, there was no light at all for me to see where the trail was. I eventually made it back to my car, and I was so relieved that I had made it back. In a sense, I had built a sense of self trust while I was out there. I have had a tendency to self doubt myself even with the most littlest things, but I am now more aware of that and will start to trust my gut feeling more. The shrooms definitely made me more aware of my overall body further increasing that awareness of the passenger within. Ned is a representation of the inner adult that I’ve been cultivating and this trip was the most prominent it has ever been for me yet. Thank god I was able to make it through 🙏

Mindfulness is truly the Swiss Army Knife to changing your life. The important thing to know though is that it is a tool, not the answer itself. Mindfulness without understanding *basic* psychology can actually be harmful. You need to be able to recognize what you're looking at, not just exposing yourself naked to the explosions going off in your pysche. Be careful out there!

Shout out to all the kids that were promised "marshmallows" multiple times, only to have them taken away. The avoidance of trying too hard, due to a pathological belief in inevitable failure, means a long road to resilience. This gives them hope. 😊
