Hi Don, all your videos are great. However, can you please make a mock interview video which looks real, where, you are the job seeker and the interviewer asks questions that cover all the topics of all your videos. That will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion, Adarsh. I will keep that in mind when planning my next videos. Have a good one! Don

You made a very good point that candidates should engage the interview with good questions. This not only shows the employer that the candidate is interested, but it also encourages the employer to sell the company. This is a great position to be in!

Thank you so much for these, I’m getting ready to bolt from a toxic work situation, your videos are great prep, especially since I’ve been employed for over 10 years at this job, like dating again...thank you, they’re very helpful reminders, especially about not having a degree, i have 3.5 years of college, really depressing to think that piece of paper holds me back, you so helped my morale...i was super low, thanks

Hi, I hope you found a pleasing job by now. Anyway: after 10 years your work experience really "outperforms" your education. I've always thought education is important for being competent, but i've witnessed young coworkers with just 2 years of university make huge progress at work, by being instructed by other people....

Don, I understand what you are saying. But in most companies the feeling really IS like it is a big test. Because that's how they handle you. Most companies are treating the candidate as "suspicious" : they double-check each answer, like you'd be lying. It feels like interrogation, rather than a communication of equals. They ask sneaky stuff, they provoke etc. That's my experience. And it's annoying because I am an honest person. I've had stupid HR personnel comment like "what do you think of starting things and never ending them?" , refering to me having two unfinished M.Sc., when in truth in a few years I've had international experience, was doing the second M.Sc. In my free time, moved to U.S. when my boss needed it on a short notice, to save all our jobs. I couldn't have done more in that time. She turned an achievement into a flaw. Another example: my friend literally had to brake off a job interview because the (limited) ceo of a private company didn't believe she had that much education and was insulting her, saying he does not believe it. How to get rid of this feeling? It's hard to stay open when you feel attacked.

very few interviewers will attack you. when they do, they are usually unaware of it.

Hi Don, I got an interview yesterday. They told me it will be technical and Hr.But actually, The whole hour was about my character.I don’t know if I did will as for an hour I answered tons of questions. The 2 tech persons didn’t talk they keep always say she answered what I need to know in between her sentences I introduced myself and when they talked to me about my experience for new tech.I replied that when I searched about their network and Got info that they moved to the cloud computing and explained by experience related to what I read The 2 tech persons was completely silent I sent the thank you mail and I will wait for 2 weeks for the result. But it is normal that they didn’t ask me any tech questions

Sir, I 100% agree with your idea, good advise I wanna follow and use the method you're talking about but it can't be useful in my country because if I follow and use your advise the same they would probably consider me as a dumb job seeker, no respect to Hr or Manager it had happened in India. And the most one thing I don't really wanna hear is 'I will let you know' when I ask them something about the company or business or about customer they always almost said I will let you know, they never tell me the time I needed to know not only that but also language Indian English is very hard to understand, when I listen their English speaking it makes me no sense wherever I went to is the same English. So here, today i m talking about my country people English speaking, Sir I want you to tell me the true is it about my lack of understanding English or people of my country English speaker? because when I compare to American English speaker there's so much differences. When I listen American English it's very easy to understand and clear voice accent but when I listen Indian English it makes me no sense and it's completely a mess. Sir, please tell me which one of my question above is correct and don't forget to ask me questions about Indian english speaker. Thank you so much.Byee see ya.

Don, this is a long shot but hoping you may see this and help. I have an interview at a local community college in a couple days. I am a member of the community and feel like I probably know most of the people on the faculty and have a decent relationship with them all. I do not believe I have the job seen up by any means.... but I do not want to go in and appear to be trying too hard to impress either. My plan is to go in, be friendly, professional, enthusiastic and hopefully.... comfortable. Does this sound right?

That all sounds good to me. Good luck

Can you do a video on certificates awards etc that would be great to take for a interview???? and do employers actually look at these and consider them when hiring you or are they just stupid awards and pieces of paper even if from grade school or college or previous employers??

How far can you be unique? Normally I would have bright pillar box red hair , that is part of my personality. I am a vocalist, an entertainer. But of course for corporate jobs they dont want coloured hair . You are never really allowed to be yourself . You have to conform.
