First and foremost - you have to get angry and I mean ANGRY, like when you need to take a poop during roadtrip on the highway, you go to the crapper on the next exit (as every other option is fenced off) and discover, that it looks like the cesspool was hit by an Earthshaker. Only once you've reached this level of anger, you can start WE as GW will surely do something silly to them.

I bought the combat patrol when it finally released last year intending to play that for the Combat Patrol game mode. After winning a local CP tournament with them, they became 1 of my 2 main armies, and lately been favoring them a lot lately. The Combat Patrol is a great pickup, and if you can get an extra torso and base, you can build both the Lord on Juggernaut and Invocatus. 20 Berzerkers and 10 Jakhals are also an amazing pickup. Also, when you build angron, glue the things to the arms, and then do not glue them to the body, or do only 1 side. If you stick both wings on, you'll have less than a finger's width between them to maneuvre to paint.

I honestly don’t think WE suffer from that as much as Guard does. WE have pretty much one style, melee, so multiple detachments aren’t as necessary. As long as we get new models, specifically not just one HQ, I’m happy. But also I’d rather we get our models sooner than later. EC coming out this edition has me curious about how they’ll handle the Daemons and the respect Traitor Legions. Really hoping they just pull an AOS and make them all 4 factions, one for each god

Meant to post this comment the day this video was made but I was actually with a tournament with my World Eaters at that time. To anyone considering the faction or are newcomers, welcome. Below are my biggest pieces of advice when playing the faction which I have been since the start of 10th edition. #1. Buy the core units that YOU enjoy. There will always be competitive standouts but that changes with the meta. You don't have to run 20 Jakhals or 40 Eightbound if everyone else is doing it. #2. Once you've nailed down your paint scheme, get Angron, deciding if you like playing with or without him will be key to list building but he does provide a massive damage sponge and hitting power that most other armies can't handle with the exception of a couple. #3. Be aggressive when playing the faction, but not brainless. World Eaters are an aggressive army by nature and the play style caters to that, bring units that will survive medium arms fire, use transports, and terrain to your advantage. If you're going to be defensive make sure you have the advantage on the board first, otherwise you're hindering yourself. #4. Do not bank on Angron coming back or getting a turn 1 alpha strike on your opponent. While both can happen, it's not a guarantee and that is where being cautious comes into play. #5. Bring at least on heavy support unit to hold your deployment zone. Doing this is better than holding back a squad of Exalted Eightbound to do that for you. #6. Have fun, and collect as many skills as possible.

If you want to spice it up, the AoS Khorne spearhead box is quite nice. You can kitbash really nice berserkers with a few bolt/plasma pistols you have lying around (and if we have anything lying around it is countless pistols). It also comes with jackal proxies, but you have to rebase them. The 3 skullcrushers are a bit iffy, but they are excellent proxies for Invo or the generic HQ. And who knows when will we get mounted berserkers. Not as good as a value box, but it gives a bit of flavour.

I was going to mention this, yeah. If you can source pistols and backpacks, the AoS Blades of Khorne models make for really flavorful World Eaters. Moreover, there's actually ALSO the Start Collecting Blades of Khorne. A box that is, somehow, still being sold by GW. It's not even a bad box, from a WE perspective. Five "Berserkers", ten "Jakhals", a "Master of Executions", and even a "Khorne Daemon Prince (w/out wings)". It even comes with a "Karanak", that might be used with allied Daemons to lead Flesh Hounds.

Starting a World Eaters army couldn’t be simpler given the limited model range. It’s even easier now because the WE Combat Patrol is available and the 10e index is free, unlike when WE were introduced at the tail end of 9e. Also, Kharn and Khorne Lord of Skulls have been restocked. If I was starting a WE army in 10e, I’d buy Angron, Kharn the Betrayer, 2x WE Combat Patrols, 4 boxes of Eightbound, and possibly a Master of Executions - DONE! Khorn and a few Chaos Rhinos are optional buys. We don’t know when the 10e World Eaters codex will be released but I’m guessing it’ll be near the end of 10, so buy the current Combat Patrol BEFORE the 10e WE codex is released because if GW updates the CP box, it’ll definitely be WORSE.

Pro tip : for each box of eightbounds you grab a box of possessed marines, this will allows you to build 8 eightbounds by kitbashing the extra bits. Even more if you didn't use all the berserkers bodies from the combat patrol

I got lucky in February and found a copy of the Exalted of the Red Angel set for £130 so snapped it up. Then I added the combat patrol, a couple of characters and a hellbrute I still had from the 6th edition starter set. I think this gives me a good core for my collection.

HQ's: Lord on foot + Lord in Termie armor. Berserker Surgeon. Maaaaybe a fun 'blood priest' to lead the mortal units?! Elites: Red Butcher Termies. Some kind of bat-shit crazy 'Gladiator style' unit with all sorts of archaic Nucerian themed melee weapons. Troops: Some form of 'Traitor Guard' or a more militarized Cultist unit Fast Attack: Jugger Riders. Brass Scorpion. Blood Slaughterer. 'Other' unique daemon engine/s Heavy Support: Teeth of Khorne. Vindicators. Remove the stupid Dinobots & Defiler... the only 'codex' choices we should ideally have are the likes of the Rhino chasis vehicles, Land Raiders, Hellbrutes, etc... Make us unique and not just 5-6 units/characters + a bunch of CSM rejects!!

If we're extremely lucky, GW will remove the Daemon codex & shove all the Khornate daemons into our book, and thus basically double our unit options. Invo scout moving 20 jakhals is a surprisingly powerful screen manoeuvre. Jakhals are about as good as chaff units get; quite durable and can actually do a bit of damage if they get to hit/hit back.
