Hi Archer i'm a student currently in the holidays between year 10 and year 11 and I was wondering is now a good time to start studying for the UCAT or should I put more emphasis on my main subjects, although if it is how much studying should I do for it.
@ArcherNewton
@ArcherNewton 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Erick, I’ve got lots of other videos on the UCAT that you should probably check out since they address your questions in more detail. Now is the best time to start because it’s very hard to fit it in during the busyness of year 12.

hey archer, what if you don't have a sport your committed to, i would really like to start up a sport but i feel balancing out starting a new sport and year 12 may be a bit hard.
@ArcherNewton
@ArcherNewton 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Karen, if you have the right study techniques and systems in place you should easily have time to start a new sport! I was able to do a lot of things in year 12 including running online businesses and maintain relationships. Hopefully the advice on my channel helps you to make time for your sport :)
@gungeternal4119

Think of it this way. Outside of School hours, you have around 6-9 hours before bedtime (ideally). There seems to be a negative stigma which reinforces that students need to be using every ALL of that time in order to be successful. However, this is obviously not the case because a healthy life consists of balance, and in order to be able to concentrate and learn at your prime, YOU NEED that balance. For some people it's in the form of volunteering, work or playing a sport. All of these are valid options but sport is kind of the best IMO.
@gungeternal4119
@gungeternal4119 2 жыл бұрын
To summarise all that, Balance is essential and the idea that you need to spend every waking hour is untrue, in fact it is a recipe for disaster. As archer says, developing good practices now will give you more time to spend on the people and things that matter most. Good luck and I highly recommend archer!!!

You underestimate the power of doing sports. In the video he calls it a „reset“. In reality its far more. Sports produce happy Hormons in your body, so your quality of work increases and your stress level decreases. You will be more focused when you study. Also it’s scientifically proven then sports is good for your brain, so it „developing“ your brain too (iam not native, hopefully it was clear)

@ArcherNewton
@ArcherNewton 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Abdullah, I'm glad that they've been useful! You'll have to check with each university about their entry requirements. Some have no subject prerequisites but with others you may need methods, biology, chemistry or english. It really depends on the uni, so make sure you check them all out individually :)

Yo I am just entering year 12 in NSW and I am very nervous. I also looked at your HOW I GOT A 99.95 ATAR video which was very helpful. With that video I found a very key aspect that I lack in. This was point one. The scaling of subjects. I like all my subjects but 3 subjects dont particularly scale well. I know this may seem too late but I just wanted to say that when I figured about scaling it was too late to switch subjects and that teacher was very strict so I was scared to ask. I also couldn't get some subjects because I stuffed my year 10 yearly exam which cost me ext. 1 maths. My current subjects are Advanced maths, advanced english, physics, engineering, multimedia and DNT (design and technology). Do you have any pointers on succeeding and getting a 90+ atar because I feel like the scaling of subjects might hold me back.
@ArcherNewton
@ArcherNewton 3 жыл бұрын
Hey there, you can't control scaling so try not to worry about it and anyway, if you like the subjects you've chosen you're more likely to achieve higher results in those because you're interested in the content. And for tips, I'd just recommend implementing study techniques that I talk about on this channel because they will help you have a better understanding of concepts in a shorter amount of time. Hope that helps! :)
