Ironically in fate/zero kiritsugu is offered a chance to bestow/force peace on the world but he sees that would kill us all, with constant peace there would never be a drive to invent, to explore, to learn etc And while we are indeed a violent species that would not hesitate to drop nukes on each other (MAD is really the only thing preventing nuclear war), there also moments in times of strife we are capable of the greatest of acts of compassion for each other.

Also lacking the religious zealotism, the extreme xenophobia, the belief that technology is devine and cannot be replicated without divine instruction(STC's-Standard Template Constructs) and the belief that AI is heretical... If you want to compare this humanity to anything from 40k, the Tau would be a much better fit, a federation that's peaceful unless provoked, for the most part a meritocracy and a decent threat despite being galactic newcomers.

@@the_victorious_1 I'm glad I'm not the only one that was a little weirded out by that. Especially trying to show how humans had basically come together as some super race with similar looking features for the most part. Having taken classes on genetics and how traits arise, even if you attempted to scramble to very diverse ethnic features together it would never become homogeneous. Someone will always have a slightly different trait, otherwise the occurrence of red hair would never be possible.

It could happen if the city was planned from the beginning to look like an amalgamation of different cultures like a cultural Disney world to impress the aliens. @@HennryHammerhead Also I'm no geneticist but what would happen to future genetic diversity? history and science has taught us that the children of genetically different parents has less chance of birth defects and other complications, and inbreeding eventually causes all kinds of horrible issues (and giant malformed chins) Although considering if all the genes on earth were mixed enough to generate a similar appearance maybe that would not be a factor?
@truekurayami
@truekurayami 3 жыл бұрын
@@zeehero7280 It would all come down to how they mixed. Example one parent could still be more "white" in their ancestry even if they are of the Singular and thus it comes down to the questions, are they Irish, Scottish, Russian, and so on for those "white" ancestors, and how that plays into the intermingling with a parent that could still be majority "white" in their ancestry, or how it intermingles with someone of a majority "black" ancestry. Where I see the biggest issue coming up is the time scale between now and the setting of the story, as the Hispanic ethnicity came about as the mixing of White(Spanish) and Native American(Central/South America) so the Singular ethnicity isn't an impossibility but highly suspect to time and people's willingness to interracial breeding.

"The Rennaissance was a period of revival after regression resulting from the fall of an Empire" *Angry Historian noises* "WW1 involved outdated tactics against new technology" *Angrier Historian Noises* Seriously though - these are both false even if those myths are distressingly pervasive. While the fall of Rome was a shock it was not a regression that lasted hundreds of years - the idea that the fall of an Empire would hold people back for longer than the Empire even existed should provoke skepticism on its face. Furthermore, to treat it as if it was a general HUMAN regression is so Eurocentric it's not even funny. But without going into the potentially racist connotations and focusing purely on European history - advancements in all sectors ranging from military to agricultural capabilities continued even after the fall of Rome. The idea that the renaissance was some great revival by brilliant minds is a myth that originates with renaissance thinkers. It's a bit like somebody saying "everybody was stupid until I showed up." You should treat it with a massive dose of doubt. As far as WW1 goes: the main issue is that the technology needed to implement better tactics did not exist. The standard procedure for a trench assault in WW1 was to use artillery to suppress enemy MG fire and have infantry charge across no man's land to reach trenches hopefully before the enemy could recover. Without field radios and tight coordination, however, it was nearly impossible to make this work in practice because if your infantry charges too soon they get annihilated by friendly fire, and if they go too late they get annihilated by enemy MGs. Furthermore, these tactics only got you to the first trench. The popular impression of WW1 as static is false however and people at all levels worked their asses off to figure out how to accomplish their goals without getting murdered (because, y'know, that's how wars work generally), it's just a pain in the ass to take a fortified defensive position especially when you have no communication between artillery and infantry, no tanks until late war, and air power couldn't deliver payloads to make a difference.

factually wrong, while the skin will darken you can already see it in modern 4th generation blacks, nearly as white as normal whites in some cases, and considering that indo-european features outpopulate any other demographic by quite a big margin in the world a flat nose is highly unlikely humans will end up with the skin color of a hispanic with asian/indo-european facial features with some africans in the mix and thats where it ends
@Logicalpoint
@Logicalpoint Жыл бұрын
@@felixmustermann790 Incorrect, you are looking only at a static result if all humanity mixed from 30 years ago (when the generic human would have looked more Chinese). Central, west, and east Africa has a 8 times higher birth rate then the rest of the world and a massive emigration rate compared to the rest of the world. Even places like Ireland and Brazil are swiftly becoming black. So a Scifi setting set hundreds of years in the future would have one unirace of mostly black features (assuming nothing massive changes in Africa to drastically effect their emigration or birth rates over the next decade or 2).
@felixmustermann790
@felixmustermann790 Жыл бұрын
@@Logicalpoint yes, the immigration rate due to overpopulating their own continent and 8times the birthrate because they are still stuck in what europe has been in 200 years ago (being a shithole)... and then theres still the fact that arabs indians and the whole of 2 other continents still outpopulate blacks by a large margin and thats not even factoring in the asians, especially when you look at the immigration going mostly towards western nations in europe and the US right now, because arabs dont like africans, asians dont like africans and the hispanics dont like blacks a whole lot aswell ;) and even then, alot of children that have different origin parents tend to end up having quite non-flat noses in general and brazil being a big % black is not a new phenomena considering 75% of all african slaves ended up in brazil...
@Logicalpoint
@Logicalpoint Жыл бұрын
@@felixmustermann790 It isn't just the extremely high birthrate of blacks but the extremely low birthrates of everyone else. Despite having a very large population most Asian countries have extremely low birth rates and these rates have continued to decline with each year even with government efforts to intervene. Simply put the immigrations most countries receive including most of Asia and even Arabs are blacks. They may not like them but they are allowing their emigrating masses to move there for work and cheap labor. An while there they have even more children either with each other or with the natives. If you visit alot of cities in China and Japan you will find a much larger black population then you would 20 years ago and 20 years from now it will be even larger as more enter the country and less Chinese have children. Yes Brazil has had a large black population for a long time now, it has just grown considerably with each year. Look at Jamaica for an example, the native of that island were completely outbreed by the freed black slaves and black immigrants in only a few generations and now there are no living Jamaican natives. Now when you think Jamaica you think black country, when you thought Brazil 20 years ago you though Hispanic/Latino country but soon you will think black country like Jamaica. The history as presented in this story, not only is grossly Eurocentric in its perspective, but also dismissive of some of greatest Greek and Celtic philosophy , art, and culture. The profound scientific and artistic contributions of the Arabic cultures are the foundation of computational mathematics. Then the contribution from the African continent, Egypt being the most famous. Oh, yeah... the Chinese, India, Tibet what about the digital revolution?

"systematic genocide" No... Systematic Genocide. Huge difference Systemic is when a problem occurs in the system. Systematic is when the system is designed with that problem as the intended purpose. Two very different things. Systemic genocide would be like a tax on birthing children, on groups with wealth can afford lots of children, and one group eventually gets bred out of existence. Even if the tax wasn't intended for genocide, genocide was Systemic. Systematic Genocide, well.. A system is made to systematically, purposefully wipe out a group.

Again someone thinking the time between the Fall of Rome to the Renaissance to be a Dark Age. Almost as poor a mistake as using Esperanto. And the ... well, weird emphasis on the coloring & racial features of humans combined with the Eurocentric emphasis of history was off-putting. Further, I don't see how announcing to the galaxy, "we used to be badasses" is going to put anyone, especially pirates, in fear. Now maybe, "our technology advancements of warfare outpaced our strategies to use those advancements, we willingly gassed our own troops & charged blindingly at the enemy, killing millions of our own soldiers just to gain a few meters of ground. We imposed such a harsh peace treaty that another world war was inevitable, imposed the 2 worst totalitarian political systems ever known & there by ensuring war for generations, attempted to genocide a people that had already been persecuted for generations & other people thought it was such a good idea both for original people & numerous others they kept at it, firebombed cities to their knees & then nuked 2 cities all in the hope of achieving peace. Established a Cold War, fought through proxies that left tens of millions dead, impoverished, & oppressed, developed defenses to nukes just to have a third world war, & then, after trying for 130 years [or however many] of trying to destroy all of humanity we decided that maybe peace was the policy we should pursue. Even then we realized we could only hide our violent side for so long, just to establish a reputation in the galaxy, before we would have to show everyone who we really are. I hope we've advanced to the point where we strike only in retaliation." Or something along those lines. No 1st civilizations, no Bronze Age, no use of writing, no rise (& fall?) of religions, no rise of continent spanning & world-wide empires, no trade routes & their effect on civilization, no Grecian, Chinese, or Indian philosophies, no rise of liberal democracy & with it the rise of inherent human rights, no green revolution, no microprocessor/internet revolutions? What the administrator pointed out was important but I'm not sure it was the most important.

Wow, eurocentrism still down bad in this story... You'd think they'd mention a bit about the other continents before getting to WWI. I mean, China was a hive of war and peace and culture for centuries and the Mongol empire was a beast going toe-to-toe with the Roman Empire. And Egypt had huge influence before that. And no mention of the first cities popping up in the middle east? And nothing about the Aztecs and the Mayans in there at all? Shame. I understand that the author personally only has so much information in them to talk about, but I'd have added a "there's a lot of influence by region, we'll spin a globe and focus on that for a jumping-off point and let you connect the dots... Oh, we landed on Europe, of course we did." to make it a little more believable that it's just Europe in that little talk. Also the black death being a catalyst for a lot of things would be nice to mention.

The French revolution was the only one that didn't make sense of all the ones they said that effected the world as a whole. If you replaced it by the American Revolution which was the start of all the different ones that lead to so many empires breaking apart, it would've made more sense. But I would've atleast mentioned the fall of Rome which caused the Dark ages, which they kind've did. I don't know enough of Asian history to think of something that changed the world as a whole. That also wasn't in part of what was already said. Also to give you a heads up the Mongols never interacted with the Romans since they had already fallen when the Mongols appeared. The Romans interacted and fell in part due to the ancestors of the Mongols the Huns, which broke apart and formed several groups of people themselves.

oR maybe you are missing the point of UNITY. The singular ethnic thing is not correct. They exist but what happens is a unification i.e. a REASON to step beyond that limiting[?] position to become HUMAN ← that is the ethnic result. Otherwise what your stating is a DIVISION method, a CONTROL program i.e. "divide and conquer" concur he he he [word play there] Not to negate qualitys of "different" in fact that is why we are not hive mined but rather unity mined [ultimately] diff views perspective and backgrounds but capable of respect for these things and understanding HUMAN is what we all are amd united humans is the one thing THEY DO NOT WANT in this reality [-§-] WeSaveUs Do No Harm unless /Universal LAw ← required HUMAN UNITY w.w. ← required Semper Prorsum~Godspeed
