As long as you can do couple laps and quick charge & coffee and get back to track, this car is golden. Rest is secondary.

I drove a regular Ioniq 5 Lounge for ~15000km over 4 months. Genuinly the best car I've driven and under ideal circumstances I could fast charge 4 to 80% in 14 minutes. Of course, after 2 or 3 times of fast charging the battery will heat up and it will slow down a bit just like in the video.

You can disconnect one of the motors and drive either in FWD or RWD in the Ioniq 5N. The option to do that is in the N menus, so the efficiency will be much better

the torque distribution mode doesnt actually disconnect the motors like it does on normal or eco mode (when not using ipedal) at over i believe around 30 or 40mph.

The 260kW is achieved at 25°C, not because of the SOC being below 10% etc.. Which is why the pre-heating to only 21°C, the large delta, the weak battery heating and cooling are all annoyances.

Quite puzzeling, as old model 3's from 2019 always charge with 250kw when SoC is low enough. And that with a 400 volt system.

@@thomasschoovaerts8385 Yes weird, yt channel nonstop driving did a test and my car also performs better with like 22kwh consumption at 120km/h …. have never seen that high consumptions on my ioniq 5N, my longest autobahn trip was even 355km on one charge … maybe that borbet winter wheels are harming the car?! Actually Kris Rifa had the same car a few months ago on stock wheels and also consumed more like 22kwh… Which still isn’t good tbh, but 30kwh is atrocious..

In normal autumn conditions (2 - 8C temperature) with winter tires mine goes around 22 to 24kwh/100km (averaging 100kmh max 120kmh). Now if you are having some fun on the B-roads you can get close to 29kwh/100km.

It's strange to see the rapid gate because the thermal management should be big enough to take care of that. Maybe this one has a fault? Maybe you should ask Hyundai what's up with your experience? Also have a look at the power usage of the heating while doing to battery cooling. In my experience the power usage shifts and is not additional in Winter. In summer of course it's different

And is throttling the power output as well. Quite substantial. And that in a cold environment like norway. Would this even work in hot conditions? I am puzzled as Tesla's overheat on the track far faster than this 5N but at normal road tripping, this 5N has heat troubles where Telsa always performs.. how is this possible?

It doesn't matter if the charging speed is this fast when the consumption value is this ridiculously high. I mean you get less range per minute than in a Tesla for more money since you consume more kwhs... Imagine how high would the consumption go in a really cold weather, plus heater, bet you could barely drive 200 kms with a full battery on a highway. You can almost get more milage from a id.3 half the size of this battery

The Ioniq 5 requires a Battery minimum temperature of 25°C for maximum charging power. It is not determined by SoC alone.

M3 is tiny compared to Ioniq 5 size. Had chance to drive different variations with car-share app. The car is good car, but you have to fold yourself into it before you drive. One thing I miss from M3 - the turn radius. You need airplane guiding lights for the turn radius that ioniq 5 makes and I feel 5N has it worse because of the planted geometry.

Yes, the speed is very good, but how does the battery health look after 100,000 or even 200,000 km? I think manufacturers like Tesla could increase the speed as well, but they want the battery to last a long time.

@@profbtgDas ist richtig. Allerdings bin ich der Meinung, bei den niedrigen Außentemperaturen und normalen Autobahngeschwindigkeiten müsste die "normale" Kühlung ausreichend sein. Ich war bis jetzt 3x mit meinem EV6 GT in Portugal. Das sind jedesmal 10 Schnellladestopps in 22 Stunden. In Spanien und Portugal bei Außentemperaturen von über 30 Grad. Die maximale BatterieTemperatur war 2x bei 53 Grad. Alle anderen Ladestopps bei unter 50 Grad. Ohne einen speziellen Modus. Der 5N versagt mit den Standarteinstellungen bereits bei 10 Grad und dem ersten Schnellladestopp. Ich finde das als EV6 GT Fahrer ein Armutszeugnis🤷♂️

I saw overheat on typical autobahn as well some months ago, by German test channel. I think it is a software issue that should be fixed at some point since the car has pretty amazing cooling during track mode.
