That second story... poor OP deserves so much better. How can your partner break down in front of you and you say you don't understand and ask them to make you lunch? As I was reading it, (I don't listen, for reasons) and he has cut her off from her family, cut her off from working, cut her off from any independence, and has financial control, my thought is, that's an abuser. Whether it would get physical or not, he is controlling her completely, and when she leaves, he will be way over the top, and blame everything on her.

Also I disagree so much with the commenters approach. "Tell him you can get divorced over it, he deserves to know what's at stake". So his wife telling him she is unhappy is not enough for him, so she has to say how it will affect HIM for him to CARE?? Hell no, at that point, get the f out.

Get the hell out, for sure. He sounds abusive at worst. At best he doesn't care enough. Fair, put on your big pants and get a job. Get daycare, get transportation. Public, bike, anything. If you're going to be single parent, practice whilst you don't have a mortgage and utilities to pay. You can do all that and get your ducks in a row. Or he adjusts and you re-evaluate (not likely, but wonders exist)

Story 2: this is abuse plain and simple. He is controlling her by keeping her at home cooped up. He is restricting her finances by not allowing her to work and do her own thing. He is restricting her ability to see friends and family by never allowing her to take the car. When she breaks down and says she needs a break, his response was take skme time alone in your room and nake me a sandwhich. It is absolutely clear there is one solution here. She needs to see a laywer immediately. Even before she gets a job and starts working for her own money. He will just have pay alimoney and support her for now while she leaves.

People are way too willing to get divorced these days. I 💯 agree that things need to change and he’s being a selfish ass hole but why not put everything you have into the commitment that you made. For better or worse isn’t just a saying. I have been married over 20 years and we have definitely had some hard times but eventually worked through them. If you have honestly done all that you can then do what you need to do. It says a lot about someone that makes a commitment and vows to do something then easily gives up. Life isn’t easy and neither is marriage so don’t get married if you’re not willing to do whatever it takes. Cheating is a whole different story.

@@BlueDart1971 Your preachings about commitment are better directed towards the husband, as he is actively perpetuating an issue he created and has proven to be unwilling to fix it. I never understood viewpoints like this. She wanted to make responsible decisions and be an attentive mother, but his negligence has snowballed into a dynamic where she is nothing but and takes on all of the parental work and household chores at the expense of her mental health and to the benefit of his freedom, as he admitted so himself, and she endured this isolation (even from friends and family) for at most *F I V E* years. Within that time frame she has expressed her discontent many times, and many times he chose to ignore her because he’d rather prioritize himself. Even when she reaches her breaking point, he failed to show even a shred of empathy or guilt for being complicit in his wife’s misery. He is effectively ruining his own marriage. Her contemplating divorce, which she even said she wasn’t eager to do at first, is an expected consequence of his own behavior. So I’d genuinely like to know where this argument about a lack of commitment is coming from.

Also, 99% of the time a car is your only freedom/ connection to the outside world that will take you exactly where you need to go at literally anytime day or night. If you have a fight and want to get away, you could always get in your vehicle and just sit in the car a few blocks away or something, & you could always leave immediately because you always have that protection / freedom to do so. Where do I fit in to both relationships? When she says something online, how does it translate into her life with me? When she blasts every event in her life out to EVERYONE, what does that leave for me that's special? Am I a boyfriend or just a follower (with privileges)? She says her friends are online, but does she ever try to build friendships with real, live people instead of the mask they show to FB etc. Is her online persona who she is when the mask slips, or is it the other way around? Who actually is she? Unless the 2 personas match perfectly (which they obviously don't in this case), she's being disingenuous somewhere. What if it's OUR relationship she's being untruthful about? While you eventually agreed to do what was best for your kid while they were smaller he steamrolled that as soon as you expressed that you want to do something more. I say unless you have a implant for your birth control it needs to be under lock and key. He may end up tampering with it to trap you again. You need to talk to family, friends or anyone you can about getting yourself and the little one out. This is abuse and no one deserves to be abused. So he made it crystal clear you were here for his needs and wants and screw all to how you feel about it. Kinda knew that's where it would go with his kind. Talk to family, friends and get resources gathered OP you got work to do and it won;t be easy. Stay safe, seek therapy and get a co-parenting app ready to use. My behind would wait until the day she starts posting those pics then comment with pics of your girl and ask "What makes her look so ugly to you? Is it the fact she's missing an arm? It is scary so many people share so much about their day to day online, without a clue to how anything and everything has footprints to where they live. Like this Canadian KZbinr I followed had to move out of her dream house because when she posted some renovations she did to the house, someone found out where she is and stalked her. People can and will do these things, and you don’t even have to be famous. It literally could be anyone infatuated with you. Posts like “I ate this _insert picture of dinner_ at so and so restaurant” can be an indication of where you live. Like someone can look up where that so and so restaurants are located, and find other posts and where the content is located and piece together where you live. Even when you don’t post the city or address of where you live. If someone is obsessed with you… this is easy work. It’s like holding out your hand with many posts and be like “hey! The fact she basically said “you have to accept me at how I am on social media, but I don’t have to accept you’re not comfortable with it” Like, he did what was right for him and stopped following your social media because he lives with you ffs AND you are mad at him because he wants him to see posts like “I ate this for breakfast”, “when I got out of my house to my car to go to work, I saw a lady walking a cute dog that snorted, so funny!”, “I at this for lunch” “my coworker went to Hawaii, so jelly” or whatever… if you’re not int the present to be with your partner instead of your nose glued into a screen like some sort of hermit… you can have your social media while the guy will find someone 1,000,000,000% better

Thank you for that first story, about oversharing. I post every day, at about midnight, at a certain blog, where I have pretty close online friends. Watching this gives me a warning about oversharing. I plan to start my own KZbin channel, soon. So, I need to use caution about how deep I get into the details of my life, at my old blog, and my new KZbin channel. Thanks again. Hugs!

Story 2 needs to leave that man yesterday. "I don't know what to tell you" means "I don't care" if it's in response to someone saying they don't like the way you are treating them. He's so cold and calculating with this I wouldn't even warn him about the divorce. I would just call mom to pick up me and the kid. Hopefully OP has someone in her life that can help her get out of this.

Story 1: "It's not a big deal that I post a lot on Social media" follow by "WHY DID YOU TAKE A DRASTIC STEP IN LEAVING SM". You can't have it be both 'not a big deal' and it be a 'super important deal', it's either important or it's meaningless, it can't be both. Whether she is putting on a mask Online or not doesn't matter, the fact she defends her behaviors that seemingly lean on the narcissistic side of things, means OP doesn't know her as well as he thought. Judgement is NTA. Story 2: Ya no, even MY dad paid for 2 cars, because if you are going to be a STHM, then you need the independence to do stuff that he needs. He is treating her as 'less than', which is not okay. NTA Story 3: I have a lot of words and none of them are SFW. So I'll just say this, NTA and cut off your sister while telling the family "I'm not sticking around when you discriminate against my Amputee daughter, goodbye.".

story 2: (specifically 9:42) um, no no. jumping on the divorce ship is exactly what OP needs to do. her husband is isolating her from everything and everyone that isn't him or their child by not allowing her access to the car and saying she can't take it to go do something on his days off because he would rather spend his days off doing something fun with his buddies (presumably) or one of his hobbies (idk why but i feel like it's golf). she's stuck in the house pretty much 24/7 because he can't be bothered to spend his days off at home taking care of his child and giving her a break. i'm pretty sure this qualifies as some kind of abuse and i really really hope she gets out of this situation, but all i can do is keep watching to see what happens.

She gets mad when I don't watch her stuff because they want more views as if they didn't physcially show me by shoving their phone in my face and replaying it all the time. I legit hate going out places with her because she can't put their phone down and is to posting about what we are doing. I never open any of the stuff she sends me because I stopped caring a long time ago, but she never used to be that bad, but that was back when we only had facebook as our main social. She have to turn eveything to about her and her social media and gets super pissed if you try and join in the convo or change it. She doesn't have very healthy relationships with people and its because she puts on a fake show for everyone and then when people get to know the real her they realize its not really her...

That's what my ex said basically. Me and my toddler was getting desolate staying inside a dark room all the time and wanted to go out. Toddler would cry and I would beg him to take us somewhere. He would never let me go anywhere but to the store. He would say he has no problems staying inside all the time so why should we? Why was I desolate, why was I unhappy? When I'd explain it was from being kept in a room like a caged prisoner he would get offended. I said "put a dog in a cage and they'll pace and whine and growl. Put a man in a cage and he'll lose his mind. Never let them out, they'll either end someone or end themselves. You are trying to remove the humanity from us. It is not natural to stay locked inside all day. I have not committed a crime, why am I being punished?" He would get so mad at both of us. I would defend how children are supposed to be outside and playing. He would threaten if toddler was crying at the window. Toddler used to stay ill all the time but now that they have access to a yard, they're never sick anymore.
