This is where video evidence, witness statements and the how it was fixed by an outside source will be really telling about just how unprofessional the DJ was. I'd be taking that to court with everything that shows just how careless this so called professional was. The pictures would be shared to places like google as well as any site like angie's list and yelp stating why no one should hire this DJ for his crummy attitude and lack of care for customer satifsaction. On the bright side he can get a job elsewhere. Also I hope the groom cuts OP out of their life for this. No one needs this level of toxic in their lives.

Adultery is literally illegal in the military. That one commenter explained it well. So op could have charged them with that and the spouse would know anyways.
@BruinPhD2009
@BruinPhD2009 2 жыл бұрын
Indeed. And the the definition of adultery under UCMJ is actually very narrow, as in, you have to prove actual penetration, otherwise the charge is sexual misconduct. So, the fact they got caught in the act left OP with no choice BUT to charge them accordingly. The punishment is very much in line with other cases with which I dealt as a company commander. You might argue that making them tell their spouses what happened is a bit much, but trust me, the spouses would have found out the minute the pay didn't look right.

@@djbabyowl7926 I was going to say the same thing. I didn't realize I had wavy/curly hair until a year ago. (Most people won't understand that, but there are a lot of us who just thought we had frizzy straight hair that wouldn't behave, so I'm in good company.) I stopped using a regular towel to sop up the excess water in my hair. I now use a soft, bamboo pillowcase to micro-plop and a bamboo beanie to finish plopping for about half an hour before air drying. It makes a *huge* difference. I get my hair bleached out so I can have fun colors. Bleach is really rough on wavy/curly hair, so it's incredibly important that I use the correct tools to take care of it. The correct drying method is a huge part of keeping my hair happy and seeming to be relatively low-maintenance for someone who isn't paying close attention. 💙

There was no official update but Op made a long comment that’s kinda like an update: “Hi everyone first of all I would like to say thank you for all the condolences. I really appreciate it. ❤️ I’m already near the character limit on my post so I’m just going to add a quick edit here. To address some things my dad wouldn’t be homeless if I kicked him out he still has a well paying job and the old house we used to live in before the accident which is under his name. Also the house he currently lives in is under my name I bought the house for him as a surprise, as way to show that I appreciate him and hoping that it might help repair our relationship. He didn’t really care to go through changing the names on the house because he believed I owed it to him since he raised me and I just went with it to make him happy. He never really thought I’d try to argue against this and tbh I feel pretty low doing this, but I have been footing the bill for the house and most of his lifestyle and am tired of them showing zero appreciation. I guess the names were just the straw that broke the camel’s back. A lot of people also mentioned how naming the twins after my siblings isn’t necessarily a bad thing and I agree if they were doing it with an honest intent to respect them or using middle names. But I can tell my father’s doing this because he is still grieving which is why I was upset with him during the party I’m not the best at expressing myself so some of my anger might have been misplaced but I was more frustrated with the fact that he’s trying to cope with their loss by trying to replace them and in a way replace me. Also I am kicking them out legally (I’ve given him and his wife a 30 day notice) and have a lawyer. I know some of you have suggested to go NC with him I might after this but I want to give him the ultimatum of therapy even if that doesn’t repair our relationship I’m hoping it will at least help him grieve in an appropriate way. I’ve tried to go through all of your comments and reply to your dm’s but I just wanted to say I really appreciate everyone’s judgement and the advice given. My dad and I have agreed to talk to this weekend without his wife present and I will update if anything changes. If it doesn’t then I’ll just update at the end of the month when they leave.”

See, the 'notify the spouse' bit is the only part I'm stuck on that pulls me in the YTA direction. Not military and British, so absolutely no idea what the rules are, but it might be the posters wording that's throwing me off. If he made the people call up their spouses and say they were having an affair then that part, and that part alone, is in the YTA camp for me. It's a private matter between spouses and goes well beyond the remit of any employer.Again, not military so don't know what the contract says and can only use employee/employer as a reference. If it was 'they had to notify dependents of a loss in rank, which caused questions and lead to divorce' then defiantly NTA - that's just a natural consequence. Also, NTA for the rest of the stuff.

STORY 1: *YTA* So they need a simple request for what their entrance and first dance songs were going to be and they didn’t get what they want because your cousin brought the wrong playlist? Weddings are extremely stressful, especially for the bride that wants everything to go according to plan. The Cousin is a DJ and his job is to provide the music. for the DJ to say “Oh get over it stuff like this happens all the time you don’t need to kick up a big fuss about it“… That is extremely unprofessional…For an extremely stressed out bride that’s a big deal. Honestly we’re close to situation I feel like bridezilla is overused in the wrong context. This is a prime example. If “stuff like this happens all the time“ the cousin is a pretty shitty DJ especially since he refused to apologize. If word gets out and people learn how unreliable he is at providing the music he was requested to provide, I’d be surprised if he ever got another job DJing for someone’s event. STORY 2: *NTA* Honestly there is no excuse for cheating. If you love and respected your spouse you wouldn’t be so quick into giving in. “Oh but they’re only human“ ……yeah and humans suffer the consequences for the shitty actions. Military spouses are putting so much trust, love, and respect on their loved one when they get deployed for work. Spouses deserve to know that they were being cheated on. What if that woman got pregnant while she was away from home? Not only will she be returning to her husband was another man’s baby, but that man’s wife is going to get the news that her husband knocked up one of his coworkers when that other woman comes to him for child support or God forbid housing if her husband kicks her out for cheating on him. STORY 3: *YTA* Why are you so embarrassed over a towel? Just because you don’t understand someone’s hair care routine does not mean you get to undermine them and discard of things you find “useless or weird”. This reminds me of the story Mark read where the boyfriend threw away his girlfriend security blanket because he thought it was childish that she was sleeping with a small blanket. It’s fucking fabric! Why are so many boyfriends so insecure over there girlfriend having a piece of fabric they enjoy? It’s just a towel, it’s just a blanket, it’s just fabric why are you so fragile you feel insecure/uncomfortable by fabric that you don’t personally use???? Damn! STORY 4: *NTA* Honestly people can name their children whatever they want to name them. (I saw a TikTok where a girl explained that her friend is named diarrhea because when her mother came to United States she first heard that word I thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. Obvious language barrier, but my doctors tried talking her out of naming her diarrhea by explaining what it is the mom didn’t listen because she thought the name was so beautiful) Although naming your unborn children the names of children you lost seems like a very unhealthy way of coping with the loss. It’s like you’re trying to replace them so you can pretend they never died in the first place. Stepmom seems like a bitchy Golddigger. dad seems spineless. I’m so sick of hearing stories where the parents, mostly the Dad, automatically chooses their new partner 100% over their child. If stepmom was going to treat OP like shit and dad was just gonna sit back and let happened….OP is not obligated to house them. Don’t set yourself on fire to keep others warm or this case don’t let people abuse you and let them live in your house.

The last story is hilarious when you read the whole context and updates. 1. The house is still in OP's name. They never changed the name because her father thought she _owed_ it to him for raising her. *WTF* 2. OP's wealth came from her maternal side and some good investments on her part. 3. She also gives monthly stipends to her father to help with his lifestyle. 4. Stepmonster thought the house is in OP's father's name, he never corrected her and OP didn't even get the chance to correct her because she didn't meet the stepmonster after the wedding. 5. OP's father still have the old house in his name so don't worry, they're not going homeless. 6. OP is serving them eviction notice. 7. OP made therapy a requirement for continuing their relation. 8. OP was hurt but she was never against her father finding someone else. She was hurt because she wasn't even invited to her own father's wedding.

I hope OP cuts them off financially. Dad wants to be with crazy B and her twins over the adult kid who's supporting him fine. Not to mention the sicko B wanting to erase OP's siblings but "replacing" them with hers. OP should just cut them off and change numbers. Only give it to people who support you. When or if dad ever comes to his senses he can contact someone from mom's family and let them decide if he's genuine enough before contacting OP.

Not really an official update but a very long comment: “Hi everyone first of all I would like to say thank you for all the condolences.

Story 2. Military spouse(20 years) and former USAF, here. There aren't nearly as many people busted for infidelity as there should be. A lot of people cheat and aren't held accountable, as they should be. As long as you get along with your command, higher in the chain or just above you, most turn a blind eye to it. My husband and I never let it go. I feel sorry for the people who dedicate themselves to their military spouse and end up losing everything because the military or spouse can't keep their pants up or use their own hands. We spent years apart over his 20 year career and we didn't resort to cheating. Extra info... a lot of cheaters put a broom, mop, etc on their front porch to signal that they're available. I didn't know that and had the unfortunate luck of someone stopping by to ask me if it was a good time to come in and get busy. As you so eloquently put it, "Those cheaky so and so's". I told him to get lost and never forgot my broom on the porch again. 🙄

Story 2: OP is NTA as the military MUST remain uncorrupted. The two Navy peeps who broke the rules must be punished AND their indescretion reported. The reason being that IF OP kept it a secret, the two peeps were now compromised. ANY enemy force could use their affair as a form of blackmail in order to coerce either or both into doing something that would cause a security leak/damage. This is very serious and I'm surprised they only got demoted and their affair exposed. Something like this could have had serious repercussions including courtmarshall or summary dismissal.

I've worked hard for over 6 years to get it to this state after having damaged it when I was younger, and part of that process is using specific hair towels and fabrics to keep it from being damaged when drying it. I've been looking for some documents for three months now and figured I'd find them in a drawer or buried under an avalanche of socks and rag dolls. Shrugged, straitened out the shoes underneath and thought a binder on a shelf above the shoes looked familiar. Pulled it out, and I'll be damned, it's the one that I store the documents in. So, in order not to lose it again, I put it on the cookbook shelf next to my husband's favorite one. 🤪🤪 I'm so bloody organized. NOT.

Story 1. I'm right there with ya Mark. How do you forget the playlist? Like is it just on a flash drive. Why wouldn't it be on his laptop? You could have an external hard drive with pretty much every single song that would be used on a wedding. And a playlist is just saved on the computer. Doesn't take any extra space and you can delete it later or, if ya wanna go above and beyond, burn a CD or extra flash drive with the playlist to give to the couple as a gift or additional service. Having that extra one would have also solved the problem.

Story 1: "I don't think it's possible to improvise a playlist to save the wedding" Smart phone. Venue speakers/intercom. Aux cord. KZbin/spotify/other such apps you can play music from. It may not be EXACTLY what the bride and groom wanted but at least it's closer to what they asked for. I was teetering on ESH because the bride maybe shouldn't have yelled, but changed my mind pretty fast, OP and the DJ are both TA. Story 2: I barely know anything about the military but even I don't get the YTA/ESH judgements. If they're working on a navy base or ship, I assume that they are essentially on the clock, and having sex on the clock in work facilities is inappropriate and unethical already WITHOUT including the adultery and military discipline. So adding those factors in, I think the repercussions were deserved. Ordering them to tell their spouses was the right move too; if OP had called them personally I might have felt different. NTA Story 3: Even if the towel wasn't a special material for drying hair, sometimes people just have Designated Items for a specific task. It could be an OCD thing, it could be an autism thing, or it could even just be an "I like to do it this way" thing. Whether it's that, or a special towel that does the job better, it doesn't matter. It's harmless and it's the individual's choice. The absolute worst I can imagine OP's family thinking about the girlfriend's special hair towel is that she wants to use her own linens in the shower because that's more comfortable for her. For whatever reason that may apply. It's not a big deal. YTA

BUT the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and day of the wedding I really do not think I was. Those 2 days, I just rolled with it all given the fact that at that point there was NOTHING that could have been done about any of it, I never even tried to get my money back. BUT, MY MUSIC…. My Dj was awesome and that was one thing, really only 5 (ascending, descending, father daughter dance, mother son dance and 1st dance) songs that could have made me lose it. 2) "We didn't want to get divorced" Then why did you cheat and decide you wouldn't say why without being commanded to? Edit: it's like calling a teacher and making the kid tell them what they did to get into trouble, in his position that's exactly what he did and should do. That last comment was spot on. I'm not even in the Military and I know that. Also have some respect for the uniform guys, they should've been willing to call their spouses immediately for their actions, hell they shouldn't have even done it. We'll never know what kind of marriages they had, but if you have a good one you don't just throw it away like that, if you're lonely write them (your married spouse) a love letter. If it's a bad marriage than get therapy for it with your spouse and work through your problems, if you can't then divorce was something you couldn't fight anyways.
