I got back from this Protest Yesterday and had over 1 Hour of material to edit and upload. To make sure the video was viewable in time for today and to avoid such a long video, I decided to split it into 2. Part 2 is out tomorrow (17th March 2022) at 4pm. We have plenty more conversations and I even warn the road sweeper to stop spraying us. I just cant keep quite when something isn't right. The police come straight over all guns blazing at this part. 🤣🤣 Does the drone go back up? Of course it does! See you tomorrow. DJ

A landfill is supposed to be layered with gravel and clay/soil but it all looked pretty haphazard to me. And, what is the content of those blue drums?
@TheCounterCulture20232 жыл бұрын
A little history on this quarry. For many years it was a working quarry, extracting clay for brick and tile productions. It was closed in the late 80's and was left for nature to take back for over a decade. In 1997 an application was made for it to be used as a landfill, the application was denied by the local borough council and the county council only to be given the green light by the then secretary of state John Prescott. The original permissions were for it to be used for inert waste only, although when those permissions ran out it was ok for it to be used for other none hazardous waste. In 2019 RED Industries took over the site from Lafarge. The Owner of RED is a man called Adam Share he is a former convict having been sent to prison for paying someone to tap the phone lines of the EA, local councillors and members of the public. Since 2019 the site has gone from bad to as bad as it could possibly get having recorded the highest amounts of H2S (hydrogen sulphide) ever recorded from any landfill ever. We have taken it to the High Court and we won but the EA appealed so we're now heading to the European Court of Human Rights.

Your footage also shows a new housing estate being built just around the corner from this dump. Who would buy a new house where you can’t even open your windows ?. Never fly over people who are crowded together, no matter what size of drone or model aircraft you have. The council's need better waste disposal, and as you mentioned incinerators, there is a new tech by powerhouse energy that have high heat gasification units that produce hydrogen from waste with zero emmisions. The oil companies have tried for so long to destroy that company but it is the solution to our problems.

Take the landfills to the incinerators. Lower these mountains and give people the health they deserve 🙌

@@DJAUDITS The invoice is in the post. Landfills have been popular because they are cheap. Pay more council tax now and let's end this misery for the people of Hanley!

Rock on DJ, What a site to see my friend lol. I feel for the great people who live in this place and have to put up with the noxious smells that are coming from this landfill. Thumbs up to you DJ for the awesome video and reporting on this matter. You are the best. Respect.

I'm from Stoke me'senn. And I know the bloody stink from these landfills. I lived near Weston Coyney and we got the stench from the landfill near Hulme a couple of miles away in the late 1960 and through the 70s. I used to drive through the lanes there to Werrington and some mornings I was near to puking that I'd go home the long way round via Cellarhead! Calling in at the long gone Hope & Anchor on the way for a pint of Pedi.

I remember that as well. In the 70's we used to wander around weston coyney landfill. It was removed and put through the incinerator in hanford and now a lovely place. We used to ride our horses and upset Bolton Gate saddlery off cos they held all of the licences and tried to kick us off. Memories eh?

I would love for you to do many more protests. It will be massively appreciated and you will make loads of friend and subscribers. You will definitely catch police breaking the law.

The bore holes are not for the smell. It's to stop explosions this happened in my home town where a number of houses (6) where in an explosion next to a former waste tip.

Living near, I can confirm that it does stink. As soon as you drive into Newcastle, you smell it. Nothing is being done.

Brilliant as ever DJ love todays coverage. Where I live the do recycling and it should go to mainland but it cost to much on the ferries to take it. Our main rubbish should get burned to make fuel through the gas plant but it’s not always working. Half the time it gets mixed together at landfill.

Would love to know what contents are leaching out of those containers, DJ. Some plastic and what appear to be metal containers/Barrels laying in full view, some spilling their contents into the landfill. Also. What compound are they using to backfill. 👍

I flew my drone a few weeks ago around the Leopard. Had police knocking on. Drone was taken and now I’ve got an interview at the police station and a solicitor involved. Unfortunately Drones have a bad name and Police like to flex what muscles they have 🤦🏼

great video, just loved how you told the Police Liaison Officers (PLOs) the actual laws on drones not that he would listen, police officers sent to gather intelligence and spread unhelpful messages on protests thats just laughable, just goes to show the police are for business rather than the people

It makes me really angry when you see the police ignorant of the law ... sure they are not going to know every law there is but surely they should check before interferring with a lawful activity
@neilcampbell22222 жыл бұрын
It is a criminal offence for the police to go in "benefit" from the incorrect use of a law that the public thinks they should know. S26 Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015.
