@@amineboussettine3774 What defines intermediate athlete? Because most people that train calisthenics doesn't see 7 pullups as intermediate and if you compare in to intermediate weightlifting or running etc isn't 7 pullups even close the same difficult level. Most people can do 7 pullups after a few month of training. And an intermediate level is something you are getting closer at 2+ years of training.

@@juanluis3220 your body doesnt gain muscle when youre exercising but when ur resting after a workout. Without rest or breaks your muscle will just constantly break while not keeping up with growth, rest days can happen 1-2x a week if you train constantly but it just depends on ur body. Its a necessary process in hypertrophy that many overlook because they think going 7x a week all out can give them more gains.

Warning: If you're in your late 30's, and you're getting back into the gym after you've taken a LONG BREAK from working-out, please, heed my advice: 1.) Don't over train. Yes, it's addicting at first, seeing the results come-on so fast, but, you're not 25 anymore. Take Sunday off. And, don't do any high intensity / high impact exercises more than 3 times a week. 2.) Listen to your body when you at the gym. If something feels funny, or weird, or amiss, in ANYWAY, avoid that exercise for the day. 3.) Be very very careful if you start moving-up the amount of weight you're lifting. Sure, your MUSCLES might be aching to grow, and you want to attack that gigantic dumbbell until it feels like it's 20LB's, but, you'll find your JOINTS/TENDONS might not be so enthusiastic. This injury/pain can be devastating, and it'll cause a lot of future problems. It did for me. 4.) If you aren't going to warm-up with stretching and walking. Warm-up with light resistance. Don't walk-in cold and try to do something you can only do 6-8 times. If I would have followed all these rules 15 months ago, my life during this period would have been much less painful. Nothing like a torn ligament/tendon to keep you awake every night, until you finally become SO EXHAUSTED that you fall asleep, then, 30 minutes later, the aforementioned pain wakes you up again. It sucks, so please be careful.

Unfortunately channels like this put videos out that are completely misleading and uninformative. 3 THINGS! 1. You should never workout every single day ESPECIALLY the same muscles because they need time to recover. If he had rested for a day or two, he would have felt better and would have progressed much faster. 2. If you are trying to cause ANY PHYSICAL CHANGES to your body then you need to be eating the right amount of protein so that your muscles can repair and hypertrophy. Men trying to build muscle should aim for a gram of protein per pound of body weight. 3. He claims that he cut out lots of carbohydrates! This is horrible for active individuals who are trying to improve strength and size. Carbs are your bodies main energy source so you should never cut down carbs too much because they are essential for progress and health. Don’t always listen to these videos, do research yourself and teach yourself. Good luck to everyone you are stronger than you think so keep pushing!

@CloroxBleach-xj4le
@CloroxBleach-xj4le 5 жыл бұрын
BingBong This is where it gets a little bit different. For overweight individuals you don’t need to consume a gram of protein per pound of body weight because a lot of that weight is fat mass. The idea behind a gram per pound of body weight is so that your total LEAN mass AKA muscle, will have enough protein to recover properly. Technically you only need to eat a gram of protein per pound of LEAN mass (muscle) that you have but by recommending a gram per pound of body weight, it ensures that individuals are getting enough protein for growth. In short try to eat the recommended one gram per pound of body weight but if you are overweight or obese then just try to get around 150g of protein. This is more than enough for most people.
@stevefrench2875
@stevefrench2875 5 жыл бұрын
@@CloroxBleach-xj4le The focus shouldn't be on eating enough protein it should be on eating enough clean calories because as long as your calorie intakes is greater than the demand and the food you are eating is not junk food you will have enough protein. I only point this out because I adopted this notion of 1 gram protein per pound body weight and it did not work for me as I was getting concentrated protein from supplements and protein bars etc.. when I switched to just eating clean but increasing my calorie intake I was able to make better gains and I was actually eating less than 1 gram per pound body weight, about half to three quarters of a gram per pound

As much as I usually dislike Buzzfeed, I stay subscribed for these kinds of videos. The realistic, motivational messages about challenging yourself and breaking yourself out of a rut can help so many people. Like he said, at one point he couldn't even do a single pull up, but it all starts with one, or half, or a quarter, or just grabbing the bars and pulling as hard as you can, even if you don't move. YOU, you lucky comment viewer, CAN do better, if you put in the work, celebrate the wins, and appreciate and learn from the losses.

There’s no other body weight exercise that can make you feel confident and godly than pull-ups. After training and at least getting into double digit pull-ups, it says a lot, because by that point you’ve either a) gotten a lot stronger, b) lost a lot of weight, or both. Most I ever got to was 17 strict-form pull-ups and it was the best I ever felt in my life fitness and confidence-wise. I’m back down to single digits but considering I started at zero, I’m still up. Starting a new pull-up regimen this week. I love seeing first person experience like this man! Good vid, and it motivated me to start again

@omia.

Hazey but the pull-up focuses more on the brachioradialis, which is a weaker muscle than the bicep, and the chin-up focuses more on the bicep which is why for many people it is easier to do chin-ups than pull-ups.

It wouldnt be the same because when you do a lot of reps in a short time period your muscles are significantly more tired, giving one pull up the effect of like 3 or 4. (At least by like #17 or 18 in a row) when doing 5×20 your muscles get more time to rest therefore working them less.

Elly Glad you reminded me. I've actually got a little tennis elbow in my left arm. I might try the challenge, but start off with like 50 every few days instead of every day.

eon001 idk if you should. Tennis elbow is caused by overuse of the elbow, so it might not be a good idea. You could make it worse.

@Draggy654 That would depend on the variations of pushups used. Throw in some pseudo pushups, handstand pushups, pike pushups, dips, explosive pushups and you can make a solid chest and tricep workout.

1:34 what is actually way more impressive than your 30d challenge is that you managed to do 16 pulls ups in a row right from the start while 2 years ago you couldnt even do 1. with this amount of base strenght it is just a matter of discipline to achieve this 30d challenge goal.
