I think Quira went with Maul because she was afraid of what would happen if she didn’t. Maul would look for answers for why a lead underling is dead. He knows her, and if she’s with Han, that puts Han in Maul’s crosshairs

She's still probably going to the dark side. I'm absolutely certain that she's Force-sensitive. That's the only thing that can explain her quick rise in rank, and her mastery of teräs kasi. My theory is that Darth Maul makes her his apprentice, but as Sith so often do she betrays him, which leads to him being stranded on Malachor. I'm considering writing a series of fan fics that takes place after Retorn of the Jedi that uses elements from both Legends and canon where she's up to no good. The Sith name I'm thinking of giving her is Darth Sinistra.

Dryden taught her and he wasn’t. Even the fighting technique itself was developed for non force sensitives to be able to fight force sensitives. And she could just be really compitent at her job

Q'ira didn't really abandon Han--she thought that Maul would kill him if she brought him with her, since Maul thought Han was responsible for the loss Dryden Voss. She was protecting him because she knew that even if she abandoned him, he could survive on his own.

Can't agree it's good that L3 survives as part of the Millennium Falcon; she's been talking all through the movie about droid rights and then all her rights are taken away as she becomes just part of a space ship, then she doesn't even get to stay with Lando because he loses her to Han in a game of cards. It's very sad that Lando has this little respect for what is left of her, but that's what comes from inventing a new character and then retrofitting them into the story prequel.

I'm really glad you liked it! Your sense of it being Tarantino-esque isn't far off the mark. It's supposed to be a madcap hustle through the galaxy's seedier side. Originally, it was meant to be a trilogy but it suffered a negative backlash just from being released shortly after The Last Jedi's controversy. I do hope they pick it up because it gets really interesting there at the end and I felt the cast had great chemistry! Solo's positive attributes include: -- a busload of talent including Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover and Paul Bettany -- a brash, swaggering turn by Alden Ehrenreich that captures Harrison Ford's spirit -- an excitingly vertiginous mountain railway heist -- the wildly imaginative Kessel Run sequence in which young Solo achieves his claim to fame of making it in under 12 parsecs while tangling with a space-borne leviathan -- a glimpse into the early Empire's pacification of resistant worlds -- the re-integration of Darth Maul into live-action after his incredible return in the animated Clone Wars; Ray Park even reprises the role! Your shock at Han firing first at Becket was to rectify the digital alteration of having Greedo fire first upon Han in the cantina in Episode IV. That change made by Lucas to the Special Editions of the Classic trilogy still angers fans! Lol. Han is supposed to live a rough, dangerous existence and gallantly waiting to be fired upon first not only dilutes his character but is insanely reckless! If your next stop is the Sequel trilogy, remember those golden dice. If your next stop is The Mandalorian, get ready for another Clone Wars tie-in! At some point, you may want to explore animated Star Wars by seeing Clone Wars and Rebels. Maul in Solo, Saw Gerrera in Rogue One and The Mandalorian reveal all stem from Clone Wars and the future of live-action Star Wars will be spinning out of both series!

16:03 ok, so if you saw clone wars (and rebels), you would now that: A) Maul survived, out of sheer anger to get revenge on obi wan B) his brother Savage rescued him and got him two robot legs C) he and Savage started making a crime syndicate D) they both took over Mandalore (and Savage died) E) After he lost control of Mandalore he climbed up Crymson Dawn F) After all of this, he got abandoned in a Sith World (Malachor), presumably after the whole Solo thing (hopefully we see it all in the Lando Series) G) After battling the Inquisitors and Blinding Kanan Jarus he dropped the title of Darth H) He died while fighting old Obi-Wan in Tatooine, at the verge of revenge.

fun fact: It isn't in the reaction but when Qi'ra beats the dudes ass on Kessel and says it's Teras Kasi is the first time it's mentioned in the films. Teras Kasi is a martial art designed specifically to fight Jedi. This is why she's so badass to me. She learned a martial art designed to fight beings that can peek into the future through the force.

Apparently Maul survived after Obi cut him in half. If you look carefully at the hologram, you will see mechanical legs. Also The Emperor didn't take him back after the loss to Obi. Maul was pissed and went underground to start his own thing.

Darth Maul came back in the clone wars tv show, and he has a sindicate outside of the empire. He is very powerful and dryden vos was a part of his group. Therefore, qi’ra had to side with darth maul or solo would never have been safe. She made sure solo was safe by sacrificing herself. She was not selfish.

after the clone wars maul got inprisoned by Darth Sidious and death watch broke him out and he was running from Darth Sidious and he hid on Dathomir Darth Sidious couldnt find him and before maul died in Rebels maul said this after obi wan cut him in 2 parts again "Is he the chosen one?" Obi-wan "yes" Maul "He will avenge us (saying weakly)" and if you want more answers watch Rebels and Clone wars.

Sucks that not everyone like this film. But it's good to know that this film takes place 10 years before Han Luke and Leia meet. Ron Howard Directed this film after Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired from the project after 6 months of shooting, and Kathleen Kennedy said the film was "more of a buddy comedy film than a serious action adventure film."

Maul is still around at this point but no longer uses the title of Darth as he is no longer a Sith apprentice. His whole back story of how he survived episode I is shown in the animated Clone Wars series currently on Disney+ (recommended viewing as it explains a whole lots more of what happened during the clone wars than was depicted in episodes II and III and also introduces you to a whole of great characters). At this point Maul is head of the crime syndicate Crimson Dawn who Q'ira works for.

They didn't want to use the CGI they used for Leia on a lead character who would have so much screen time. Because it's difficult to show a full range of motion and have it look organic

My understanding is that most people can at least understand Galactic Basic and some species speak in languages that are physiologically difficult or impossible for other species to replicate and vice versa. So it makes sense for Han to be speaking Basic to the Wookiees, cuz its just less harsh on his voice than their language, even though he can speak it.

That's good in my opinion, it makes Star Wars a cut above the rest, including the Marvel movies that, up until the Disney+ shows I imagine, don't intermingle the movies with any other medium outside it and treat it as part of a legit canon. Star Wars does, movies, tv shows, novels, comics, games, and even manga are all intertwined into one grand story. A galaxy far, far, away where there's not one MAIN character, but several.
