We appreciate the many food prep videos as y'all have done over the years. This is something I still struggle with myself, and use it to justify not keeping a workout schedule, and/or eating poorly. Y'alls most recent video about eating fast food everyday for a week, and breaking down the costs as well has really kicked me in the pants. I just ordered your cookbook, and I'm probably going to make a playlist of meal prep videos. I've gotta stop being so lazy. It's too expensive, and unhealthy. Thanks Buff Fam. Stay Buff! Yeah!

My trick with meal prep is generally my breakfast is something i can quickly knock out fresh like eggs. And the meals I do a full prep with are generally very saucy or stew. Freeze well and usually anything with a sauce reheats and gets better. Chili and curry are top of my list

God bless you for getting through it! Believe in you getting back on track! I currently am dealing with 2x disc bulges and an annular fissure injury. Haven't lifted since May 2022. Wishing to get back some day too, and have this chronic constant daily pain to be gone!

@@hudsonproyou should consider having your cook book made into ready meals for people to order. You would make a killing. I use GSN meals in UK, there is always room in the market for people who struggle to find the time to make the meals and would happily buy a months supply ready made. Even start small as a family business before using a company to make them for you?

I have been doing meal prep for every single meal for 5 years now. The cravings are insane, but it has been the only way that I have been able to lose weight. You looked a lot leaner after the 30 days.

Ive been doing this for 3 years for my family of 5. We cook 50 - 60 meals every week. I Love it man, make smacro adjustments really easy. It's a lifestyle change just like anything else. But like anything else, through time and consistency it will become easier. Love you Guys!

A good addition to your regular meal prep is to prep some meals so you can quickly and easily cook them instead of pre cooking every meal. Also, it is nice to at least change up your dinner every day of the week. That can help greatly with the bordem of always having the same thing. Changing up your snacks can also be an easy way to get verity in your diet.

I prefer choosing middle ground: at the end of the week (sunday generally) I decide which recipes/food I am going to eat for each day for the next week, go to the grocery store and buy everything I need according to that plan. This way I don't have the stress to decide what to eat, but at the same time I eat warm food and different stuff everyday (aside from breakfast which is usually always the same).

You might want to precook your starches though (rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes etc). When you cook a starch then cool it in the fridge or freezer it turns the starch into resistant starch which is healthy and beneficial for your gut microbiome.

@@IGarrettI whatever you like, really, and fits your macros. Try to keep an healthy balance between your foods, and keep your diet varied. Also, it has to fit your routine as everyone has different amounts of free time available for their cooking. Someone might be able to do more complex meals, others not.

Hey long time sub here. I wanted to share a few recipes that I think are great for leftovers and help with the random food cravings. I've been making stir fry with peppers and jalapenos and since its an all in one meal and you can put whatever you want in it really and just heat it up in the microwave and it tastes like I just made it every time. I've found the secret with this meal is to wait and put most of your sauces on when you heat it up to eat vs when you cook it. For instance I like teriyaki sauce but I noticed if I cooked with it the rice would absorb most of the flavor if I ate on the meal slowly over the week but if I waited to sauce it up till when I ate it then it was like I just cooked it and really all I did was sauce it up and slap it in the mircowave bing bang boom 2 ez. Another recipe I've been eating on a lot has been Taco salad. Again its nice because you can put whatever you want in it and I noticed after I started doing this I'd get cravings for my taco salad leftovers instead of the less healthy foods. And last tip was I would say lean into your cravings a little bit. Whatever your craving try and make as a healthy meal prep for next time to keep things fresh!

9:25 yeah, that's the problem with weekly food prep... you'll be eating reheated food, it doesn't taste fresh. what i do now is daily food prep, meaning i cook once in the morning every day for the entire day. i'd prepare the ingredients the night before including if i need to steam something then i'd do so using a multipurpose rice cooker. the food is still fairly fresh tasting when you reheat it because it hasn't been in the fridge too long.

Just one question before I start... do you store everything in the fridge? Does it taste good/safe on friday? Or do you freeze the thursday and friday meals? I am particularly thinking on those overnight oats, chicken, and meats. I know rice and potatoes can handle it. 😅

Love the meal preps. Could you do one with meals that you can freeze? So you can prep for say 2/3 weeks in 1 cook. Also show how you would warm up the frozen meals.

How crucial is the macro split? I've been meal prepping for just over a month now, and I've only focused on meeting protien needs while staying under my caloric limit. Figured my fats would just be traced from protien sources and carbs would come in the form fruits and vegetables. It's been working pretty great so far. Paired with exercise I'm already seeing results. But are there gains I'm missing out on?

1:09 You know, when I started watching Buff Dudes, the lads were immense to me. Now Brandon, the larger brother, while looking big and great, doesn't look insurmountable to me. I definitely need to make more gains, especially in the upper arms, forearms, delts, and pecs (I suppose his back is super duper thick too), but I think I could achieve this at 213 lbs myself one day. Edit: However, they eat so little! I'm cutting on 2500 calories atm and I'm only a bit over 3 years into my lifting. They eat 2700-2800 and are apparently perfectly content. That's why they're so lean.

There’s pros and cons to this as I experience weekly Pro: I can make about 3-5 days of food on one single Sunday, my food is ready to go and I don’t have to worry about making it the night before Con: the food doesn’t last long in the fridge and can become hard or dried out within a few days, I have to improvise if I run out of food on day 4 and 5, food can become boring What I would say is it’s probably best to meal prep twice a week, one on Sunday and One on Wednesday or Thursday for the remainder of the week, you can make extravagant recipes on sundays since that’s when you prob have the most time, and the second meal prep can be something quick and easy since that is most likely a work night for most people, cooking up some beef and rice, with some veggies is probably the fastest option. Making a burger bowl is simple and quick, and is super convenient

What about freezing meals? I think you could make some great stuff to vacuum seal and freeze. I do relate to the boredom of the food in a meal prep though. I started doing it on Sunday night and Wednesday night.
