Hi Tyler,I also found my father through a DNA test,wasn't really looking for him,I was brought up in an orphanage in england, my dad turned put to be american from new mexico.unfortunately he had passed away but I'm in contact with a brother and sister who have been fantastic, god bless america.I'm thrilled to finally know who I am , I will be visiting my brother this Thanksgiving, I've never been out of england so its a big adventure. I logged into my ancestry DNA account after receiving the email my results were in . The first person on my DNA list said this is your Father. Funny thing is about 10 years I ran into to a young man at a restaurant in downtown Austin,Tx. That said I looked exactly like his Father and I kinda laughed and said well maybe we are brothers. I have never met my Father or My Mother for that matter. I know who she is but that's about it. Turned out his was my Brother and I have 2 more. From my Father's side. Unfortunately so attempts to communicate with any of them has been met with silence. UPDATE: my biological mother passed away in 1995 about a year and a half after I found her. I spoke with her several times but was unable to meet her she turned really mean just before she died and told me I wasn't her son. I finally got in touch with my Father. And he said he would like to meet.

I found my biological parents thru AncestryDNA as well, six months ago. For anyone reading this who wants to know more about their biological origins, please don't give up hope. I'm 48 years old now and thought my past would remain a mystery forever. BUT, one day, I received a message from my Bio Dad almost two years after submitting my test and after he received the result of his test. I pray for all of you still searching and encourage you to keep digging. There are no bad answers.

Sadly im not of age to get one yet but my grandma met an American soldier in vietnam during the war and out came my dad. My dad acts like he doesn’t care but i know that he is just afraid of not being accepted. It’s kind of sad but my grandma had my uncle after my dad but we don’t know if they have the same fathers. It’s kind of difficult to deal with an identity crisis. My uncle just bought a kit. Best wishes to those who are looking for their family.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat. I had heard my dad and his siblings were adopted when I was younger. I asked him about it and he got really mad and told me that yes he was adopted, but he didn't care to find his biological family and not to ask about it again. Well time passed and I just put that knowledge on a shelf. I ended up getting an ancestry DNA test for Christmas and now I have DNA matches to people I know aren't in my tree. Good matches too, 1st/2nd cousins, but since my Dad wants nothing to do with it, he said so years ago, I have to figure this out without him. Best of luck to you in the future.

@@dizzybee4176 Remember, the worst thing that ever happened to family secrets in the whole wide world is DNA testing. Like a diabetic. You can lie to yourself, you can lie to your doctor, but you can't lie to your blood glucose meter. The same with DNA testing. You can lie or believe anything you want. But you can't lie to a DNA test. Regardless as to what someone or a relative says. I adopted my oldest daughter before she was a year old. She was my wife's child. That was over 55 years ago. One day, it was mentioned that she wanted to find her Bio Father for Health Reasons. I found him on the Internet in 10 minutes. She did a AncestryDNA test. It came back that "RB" is your biological father. His family lost their shit. Subsequent DNA tests show that she is related to his entire family. But they don't want to deal with it. Seems a 55+ year old secret is too much to deal with. I also have a 1/2 sister that we found each other in 1997. All the family evidence showed that her father and my father were the same. Even family lore said so. Including her late mother had told her it was so, But AncestryDNA said someone else was the father. Its really hard to fool DNA. Don't worry about it. Do it for yourself. My 1/2 sister and I are best friends. It really doesn't matter that she doesn't look like me. But we like the same things. My wife of 56 years is my best friend. My half sister is probably my second best friend. Some of my four children fit in there somewhere too.

Congratulations!!! Our daughter in law was also adopted and we paid for her DNA tests so we could help her get her lines. Her birth mother passed but we have her line built and found she is related to my husband and myself as distant cousins on her maternal lines. Her paternal line was harder to do because the Hispanic lines aren't as deep with information so we had to wait for DNA cousins to show up. It took a few years until her first Cousin, same name as my daughter in law, showed up. The cousin remembered our daughter in law who was named after said Cousin! They are in contact and the birth father is still alive.

Awesome story! When I took my DNA test I found out my legal father (that I look nothing like & that I was told was not my father at 7) is in fact my biological father. But that's not all! I was able to see that 1 of my grandpa's sisters had given up a child for adoption back in 1965 and was able to figure out which sister it was and reunite my second cousin with his long lost brothers. All in only a few days! He is so incredibly grateful and said his Christmas has been made!
@jeffmorse6457 жыл бұрын
I took the Ancestry DNA test last winter and was surprised to see my 1st cousin (my dad's niece) had also take the test. Then there was a complete stranger who was first cousins to both of us as well. I contacted her and long story short she turned out to be the daughter of my dad's older brother and was put up for adoption as an infant. He would have been just 18 when she was conceived and had been traveling around the SW and Rocky Mountain states at the time. Probably had no idea of her existence. Unfortunately he passed away some time ago, but she was still able to connect with two younger half sisters who are thrilled to get to know her (plus lots of first cousins - my older sister and she have become really good friends in just a few months of Facebook messaging). So yeah, its hard to believe what you can find out just by taking a DNA test to find out about your ancestry. My doing so help someone find out her paternal biological family.

Your Dad is still your dad. THAT will never change. Your father is the man who provided half your DNA...my step son, is my "son" because we both claim each other. he calls me by my 1st name, but when he refers to me to his friends, he calls me "dad" because I'm the guy who taught what he needed to know to be a good man. Your Dad is the man who is the one who provides you with your "dad" role model. It's not an easy job, and is usually quite thankless...

I knew the man that my mother said was my biological father.. I contacted him when I was 18. I cut all contact because it was way too much to handle back then and DNA testing was $1200+ . I had my doubts and I know the man she named had his. Ive been a genealogist for 24 years and I waited and waited to do the ancestry dna test because I was afraid of the mess of anything that was revealed. I anticipated that my mother had lied and I was going to be sent on a wild goose chase trying to figure out who the man was. 3 hours after the results came to my email, I had conclusive proof that the man my mother named was infact my biological father. Ive written to his brother to say, there now is no question. I also have a half sister. Both biological parents are dead but I have a sister and I never have to wonder again who made me and there is comfort in that. I had the best father in the world who adopted me and loved me the same, if not more, than his biological child. He died when I was 14. At 18 I saw looking for my biological father as a mark of disrespect. At 43 I think that every child has the right to know who made them and there is no disrespect to anyone in knowing those answers for sure. Fantastic video

I have a very similar story. My mom was having an affair with a married man and started seeing the man I call dad at about the same time. The man I called dad knew about it and said no matter what he will always be my dad and my parents kept it a secret from me until I was 17. I am 30 now and still on the fence about getting a paternity test. I was thinking about maybe getting an ancestry test first to see if it might even like up with the man I call my dad. I really don't want to hurt my dad's feelings when if I tell him I want a paternity test. Also my mom know almost no information about the other guy only his first name and that he was married with 2 or 3 kids and where they worked at the time. So if I find out that the guy I call my dad is not my dad I have no clue how I would find my dad.

So the whole thing just has my heart breaking...& i know its completely selfish for me to not care about the dna bcuz of my love & attachment to him...but im so afraid of losing this child i dk what to do...This all just came up this past weekend so i havnt been able to sleep...just been cryin my eyes out for days. I guess my question to u is , as someone who has expierienced it first hand , what would u think was the right thing to do in my situation? I wanna do whats best & im afraid theres just no easy way. Same here. I found at age 33, quite by accident, that my father wasn't my biological father . . . and the man who my mother SAYS was had been dead for some time. Around that time, I just so happened to be teaching American Literature, and a throwaway line from the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass has stuck with me: "(my origin) is but little consequence to my purpose." Hang in there.

I show second cousins but i am sure they are my mother's side because they have same last names. Can you explain to me how you figured out your mother's and side and separated it? It would be helpful. Thank you
@FatDaddyRatchetGaming6 жыл бұрын
So I found people that I knew were directly related to my mom just by their names. Ancesty also lets you compare matches to see how u are related to that person. I would message everyone that u know isnt related to your mom and just ask question. I felt crazy hitting up people i matched with but not in the end. The worst that will happen is they dont respond or they are no help. Just give them the best time frame and setting for when the magic would have happened. Your story is just like mine. I'm sure you will find him just dig hard at it and keep checking back in on ur matches. Good luck and keep me posted

I've never met my father. I have no idea if he even knows about me. The only things I have found out about him are his first and last name (which is a fairly common name) and that he was from western Iowa. (My mom was there for a conference when she got pregnant with me.) I moved to Omaha, NE a couple years ago and I can't help but wonder if my father still lives nearby. If so, he's only a 15 minute drive away. Anyway, I finally ordered an Ancestry DNA kit and I will be mailing it in the morning. I'm not sure I'll find anything out, but it would be nice if I did. Thanks for sharing your story. :) UPDATE: Got my results yesterday. My bio father actually took the test as well. I knew there was a possibility of that, but I honestly just thought I'd find some aunts/uncles/cousins and not actually him. Again, I don't know if he knows about me, so I'm not really sure how to proceed at this time. 😧

I have been searching for my birth father for over 50 years. Last Tuesday, my search came to an end. I found my father. He passed in 1996, but I have two half siblings. I contacted them. Even with a 28% DNA match, with 1984 cM match, I'm still being ignored. I'm 77 years old, and I don't have much longer on this earth. What more must I do? How long must I wait?
@FatDaddyRatchetGaming Жыл бұрын
How are you trying to contact them? Messaging through ancestry can be tricky. Some people are just different and may not be willing to accept the change. You got your answers and at least you know now. I don't have a relationship with the father I found but at least I've been able to lay eyes on him and thats all I ever really wanted, just the answer. Hang in there and know it has nothing to do with you and your doing nothing wrong by trying to connect with them, people are just different.

I doubt that there will be any Amish on that site but one of my ancestors might have been Amish. He was from Germany and traveled to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1740. Even one of the family trees from a person I never met that is related to him and possibly related to me because of my ancestor said that he might be Pennsylvania Dutch and they call the Amish that. At least the Amish that live in Pennsylvania and they are not really Dutch but German and Swiss like I have been told that I am. Going to Pennsylvania in August to talk to the Amish and see where my ancestor landed and where he lived.

Yuo should buy a DNA test from ancestry (they have the largest database so best chance of finding anyone) and you can then download your DNA and upload it for free to family finder, my heritage, gedmatch and my living DNA. If you don't find any results from there then order the 23 and me DNA test.

I'm going to make a video.. I'm 41 and my daughter 24 is 86% deaf and wanted to see if it ran in the family so if she has children she is prepared. So she text me and says mom" did you take an ancestry test 8 yrs ago when you tested with that guy who you thought was your dad? No " me= I used a private lab. And it came back no. I didn't believe it and I asked his daughter to take a siblings test with me. The guy said he had to keep it on the low because his wife was taking a board state test and he didn't want to disturb her. So test came back with 5 girls.. 3 his and 2 are not.. I was tripping because me and another girl looked like twins😯 so I asked her to please put my mind to rest and let's try again at another lab. Came back 0 percent match😭 I was 33.. so here we are, my daughter is getting relatives from her dad side and mine.. she says mom there is a match of a 1 cousin and he lives 3 miles from me. I connect and he was a minor but with a mom that observed his account and answered me. The mom took the test and it came back it was my daughters half aunt.. she is 5 yrs younger then me.. WITH THE SAME BIRTHDAY 🧐 4 CHILDREN LIKE ME.. AND LIVES IN THE SAME TOWN AS ME.. AND GREW UP ON THE SAME ST AS ME😯😭 So my daughter hires a genealogist. A women who is lisa shows up as a person of interest. She dug further and found a boy named Ryan connected to lisa. Its Lisa's nephew. They were trying to find through Lisa's line who matched the age of my mom . They said potential mates are usually 1-5 yrs apart. Ryan's birthday is August 10 1984 .. 10 days apart from the girl ricki who matched my daughter as half aunt.. we all live close🙃 so Ryan is contacted about the finding of his dad and uncle who are my moms age. Ryan ask his dad and he said he dated a girl named toni.. which is my moms name, but it was along time ago and everyone was Into love fest and drugs. So it could be true he said. I asked rickie and Ryan if i could pay for a high dollar test to get a accurate answer. They said yes. Last week it came back 99.992 we are all 3 half siblings that share the same father. I'm like no way.. my sister ricki 2 days later gets a test back from 23andme that she did a mth prior that said. Ryan matches as your 1 cousin and a kid named William matches as your half brother. " hold up.. my sister is freaked.. we just met the day before balloons, flowers.. tears.. it was shocking. . So she said tell Ryan to ask his dad to test. We did, he said ya.. but i have to be careful of not telling my wife yet, her mom just died and she is emotionally destrote.. ok folks I'm like here we go again, this dude is gona chicken out and swab the cats mouth. So Ryan comes and gets the test kit from me, goes back to his dads house.. gets the sample. . Takes it back to me, i send it through FedEx and now we wait. "" wait there is one more thing that happened last week after the test came back from 23andme and Ryan mentioned it to his dad. The kid William matched lisa. Lisa sent him to Ryan to talk.. Ryan pointed him to Ryan's uncle rick and said that's your dad a yr ago. So when ricki got her test back.. Ryan started spinning.. how can this be and told his dad randy his confusion. Randy says son.. I had some doubts earlier on in your younger yrs that your mom cheated with you, but I still stayed and raised you.. Ryan is like what.. so now the only other situation this could be is ... we are now taking a paternity test 3 siblings against 1 potential dad. Lord have mercy, if anyone sees and reads this.. this is not a game, this has so much hurt behind this. Growing up I was MOLESTED by my adoptive dad. I longed for my real parents to save me, at 11 met my real mom who would then drug me with meth and I would get MOLESTED. I led a very WICKED life and sex trafficking by my adoptive parents at 12 for yrs. I always wondered if I slept with my dad. It is sick it is so awful. But guess what.. I met JESUS CHRIST at 25 and he has healed me and set me FREEEEEEEE. Please REPENT and consider your soul. You dont have to be trafficking and drugged for 16 yrs like me to be just as traumatized by life and sinners. 1 sin is death. But JESUS CHRIST paid it all to buy you back and adopt you as his own. Say yes to JESUS CHRIST. I found my real father 16 yrs ago in my living room as I repented and cried out and said God I'm wrong your right. Please have mercy on me and teach me your ways😍💯🎯 I wrote this for you. . You know god is talking to you. He wants you to forgive others and YOURSELF. . And be about his business. Now I rescue girls and children from the life I used to live. Glory to the living CHRIST!

Wow this comment really hit home. So my mom was dating a totally unrelated guy when I was very young, around 1. He was just a Bf. His mom would watch me while they went and did stuff. That women, my moms temporary boyfriends mom, raised me and is one of the most important people in my life. DNA is nothing. I don’t know all the layers and know I would be devistated to find out a kid wasn’t mine but you love that baby and that’s all that matters.. play your cards right, love that baby forever regardless of the DNA. Just because he may turn out to not be your grandchild doesn’t mean you don’t have to see it anymore.

@@FatDaddyRatchetGaming Thank you so much for your response. & i whole heartedly agree with you...dna means nothing to me & there is no way i can ever stop loving this child & being with him every step of the way...I just hope & pray his mom allows me to still be his Mimi after she gets exposed...cuz if she takes him from me ill be completely devastated. My only fear in all of this has been what the truth is gonna do to him...& im old enough to know that the way it effects him is based upon how everyone involved responds to the results & how they decide to explain it to him. If she maintains whats best for him, then he will be fine...but if her guilt causes her to be angry then im afraid we all we suffer. What id give to make all of this just go away...cuz it truly dont matter to me either way...i cant possibly love him any more than i do right now. Be forewarned... you might not like the results. I did it for the health predisposition results. I hadn't considered that 40 years ago I was a frequent sperm donor throughout 6 years of college, multiple banks in multiple states. I knew I didn't want to raise children but helping others to do so felt benevolent. Back then DNA testing wasn't thought of as a future consequence. I was very pleased with the health analysis but overwhelmed to discover I have over 100 biological relatives from my sperm donations, and from just the one DNA test company. I plan to test with other companies too. Then there are those people who have never had their DNA tested. I can't imagine how many biological children I must have.

Your mother is very brave and strong Beautiful lady. God knew what he was doing when he lead her too give you life. You are beautiful, and brave super intelligent woman. I understand that your mother is emotionally hurt by some strange man invading her at such a young age. And it shows how deeply it has effected you over the years. I got raped at the age of 14 also when you post this I want you to know that this story effect me as well. Darling, as both a Minister and Phycologist I want you to know that God has allowed your biological father too deal with his demons as he replay his sinful events over and over again in his self conscious mind. If both he and his sister doesn't have a soul the God we serve will Break them both continually with ill faith. There is a saying in the Latino committee that says " A man who sales his soul too the point of know return down the path too the devil's door will open his soul too hell on Earth with his victims faces in dreams always, running him down a path of darkness until he goes mad for his sins" Any family members who agrees to his sins shall share that same bad faith within their own family blood until the curse is broken. God bless you and condition too guide you and your family with the light of God in your pathway always my beautiful sister. God has blessed you so far, he has many more awesome doors to open for you. Keeping both you and your family in my postive prayers always.
