To be honest, with tier D there is a huge problem. Which is the fact that you very likely not calculated that some sporsorships can be very restrictive in how much you can deviate from the script you get from them if you can at all. So not everything is "lazily done sponsorship".

I 100% agree. As if having a million ads intruding every video I watch wasn't frustrating enough, nearly every single KZbinr I enjoy is shoving sponsorship commercials in your face. This website becomes more intolerable with each passing year, and if this get worse and worse, then I'll probably just quit KZbin watching altogether. Ads are what keeps KZbin free to use, but the quantity and anti-consumer experience is getting so bad, that in a few years some people will say " ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!" And quit.

One of the worst cases I’ve seen recently is Supermariologan. If it isn’t a full video dedicated only to a sponsor, he now has a random character interrupt important scenes right in the middle of the video to do 2-3 MINUTE long ads for terrible games like dragon city. There’s so much wrong with it, the most obvious one being that it’s a show with a story, and all the story is cut for a sponsor segment.

I'm on a 50/50 thing with KZbinr merch. Like it depends, if it's very creative or has good art and stuff. I just don't buy it if it costs too much for me or it's not something I would use/wear all the time. I also don't like it when it's limited time only or something. There are KZbinrs who make merch that isn't straight up based on them, like Slime Story by Slimecicle, that I think are pretty neat. Honestly, I think KZbinr merch are just an extreme case of 'your mileage may vary'. You may like it, you may not, just don't let your kid wear it to school unless you know they aren't gonna get bullied for it.

You know what I hate about them? As someone who's had to edit sponsorship ads for youtubers, the sponsors almost NEVER give all the materials from the beginning. Honestly, I commend Channel Awesome's method of sponsors and ads. They typically don't put ads as something is going on, instead they do a full TV-ad break type thing where the show fades out at a point which is smooth and doesn't just feel like it cuts suddenly away, drawing the first half of the video to a smooth conclusion before playing a shorter version of the intro. In this section, a KZbin ad plays, and then so does the Sponsorship and some other things they are doing. You expect it all so it isn't jarring, it uses a format everyone is familiar with, and it gets everything out there at once so the rest of the video 9 times out of 10 is smooth sailing without any sudden cuts to ads. Honestly they're probably the only sponsored segments I don't skip because it just flows normally. Max G. is an honourable mention, sometimes doing his own spin on things and also, for his show, making a canonical reason as to why sponsors are present, also not to mention how he does some shorts sometimes for his ads and his latest video basically mocking the whole thing. Guru Larry also deserves a mention, who sometimes links a timestamp for when the Sponsorship starts and ends so people can easily skip it.

Caddicarus sponsorships would be somewhere in between b and a because, despite obviously being somewhat separate from the rest of the video he still feels the segments up with lots of jokes like he does with the rest of the video which well yes you can tell it’s a sponsored segment still doesn’t feel too different from the rest of the video And then Mnjtv personally, I consider this to be the worst ways to ever handle are KZbin sponsorship some still try to make the transition between not sponsored sponsored segments smoth instead they have the same character randomly appear say something Mikey replies somehow the topic of the sponsor was brought up in the entirety of the sponsor thing is mentioned then it just immediately just goes back to talking about to the subject of the video and recently this has happened in every single video they have ever done this since around 2018

I can't get mad at most people for taking sponsorships, we all have to eat at the end of the day. But there are many sponsors that have proven themselves to be scams or low quality products and its hard not to side eye creators when theyre still making ads for them. Ill always skip them, no matter the product being sold. If i need it, ill seek it out on my own and search for a promo code

I think dead meat is the perfect example of good sponsorships. They are always in the beginning He clearly uses them He writes genuinely hilarious skits correlating to the movie he’s covering He has a patreon but doesn’t plug it at all. All he does is do patreon shoutouts at the end as an insensitive He has merch but never plugs it, only wears it in a video if there’s no shirts for the movie he’s covering

In opinion I don’t really care if they do sponsor’s they get money I get more videos from them and I can just skip them but the only time I got annoyed was back when everyone i on the same day was talking about established titles and saying it was the perfect gift for the holidays even tho it was just a piece of paper like who the fuck wants that while it turns out it was a scam so yeah
