Also a lot of american football players do ballet. It makes them better at the sport and faster. Not to mention ballet is a tough, physically demanding passion. Good for the uncle being a good man. By the way being a male dancer doesn't make you gay. Fred Astaire was a dancer and known womanizer. Story 2: In Op's defense, this incident happened while they weren't home, it's likely son has only been doing it when his parents weren't home since the initial scolding and Op only knows about this one cause you can't exactly hide a broken 75" TV, so the ESH votes don't make sense to me. Son and his friends are 17 or around that age, they're perfectly old enough to know better, they're not toddlers, host rules be damned, friend broke it, friend pays for it, and Son can help since his friends are his responsibility when they're at the house

“I got an epiphany. I have to be involved in my child’s life and be a better father!” “Oh oops, turns out I’m a piece of shit in other areas too.” Some people are just too far gone for redemption. OP may have gone for the kill, but he needed to put his foot down that this is _not okay._ Yelling in front of the son might not have been so good, but I understand this is something that should not be sugar-coated. If OP is concerned about the son hearing stuff like this though, then future confrontations can be handled by being firm and stalwart. Having a confident and authoritarian voice can be a good substitute for a yelling and abrasive one (and can make you look badass).

@greyscalesx3 жыл бұрын
@@mothertrucker936 yes idk why everyone is talking about cross dressing. It has got nothing to do with it. She said they bonded because they shared traumatic experiences. And if he was a cross dresser even though he shared the most intimate things with her, he didn't tell her that. So that means he would be hiding clothings in his room, buy his own, even have a lock. Do everything he can not to get caught, since he wouldn't want her to know. Cross dressers are just into the disguise, most of them aren't trans and some are straight. It isn't about identity, it's about the fun, the rush, reinventing yourself, never about being a boundary less snooping pervert. It doesn't make sense for him the steal stuff even knowing that there was a fricking camera right there. He would do everything not to get caught instead he did everything to get at her things knowing he might be caught. It was pointing at her door so after realising this he probably thought they wouldn't what he did exactly in the room and thought of excuse he would use when they asked him about it and went back in the room. They shared intimate things and have a close relationship, he is probably in love or obsessed with her. This is what some people with obsessive behaviours do. They want to be as close as possible to the person, so they'll steak their stuff and wear their clothes. To be as close as possible to what said person is physical contact with, they feel as is the person is touching them too. That lock isn't gonna change anything about that. He needs therapy and she needs him to leave.

I'd not even ask the friend and just tell my son he needs to pay it back (though a used TV would be fine). If I was the friends parent I would still offer to pay.

Story 1 - Ballet is a super-athletic pursuit, and if someone were to take it as a career, this kid is at a good point to start it. From what I have seen about major ballet companies and high-level pro ballet dancers, they have to start early to be able to get places. Honestly I would support OP blocking the bio-father's idiocy, before he can try to destroy a potential career.

not many "manly" men can deadlift a whole other person in one hand and make it EASY. yet male ballet dancers do that as a matter of course.

Yup, they might not look like body builders but I can guarantee they are a LOT more fit than any of them. Body builders are big and bulky but ever see one try to run or do anything that requires endurance like ballet? Hell in the south in the 90's when my family moved there I remember the look on people's faces when my mother inquired about male gymnastics.. They had never heard of boys being in it before.

I had something similar happen to story 4, my flatmates and I had a little dress up night during lokdown where we dressed in drag. One of the male flatmates and I swapped clothes, I let him borrow a dress and a bra to make fake boobs. I left my room while he changed and in the next day I saw some of my underwear were gone, some of my cute/sexy ones at that. I saw them in my flatmate's laundry basket. I took them back and never mentioned it, glad I'm moving out in a month cus I've always felt uncomfy by the fact that he stole my sexy underwear and probably did something with them since he had to wash them. If I could I would have kicked him out right then.

Story 2: all kids should pay equally but that would be impossible to enact I think as at least some of the other parents would refuse. I also don't understand why OP never messaged and then expected a message?

1) NTA, he’s the poor boy’s _sire_ at best, he’s never been a father and the kiddo deserves better! 2) ESH, your son is a teenager, old enough to know better but the other one’s attitude is so bad, I’ve half a mind to tell your kid to go to his house and break their TV just to a) make things even and b) proof the boy is full of crap! 3) NTA, they’re neighbours not friends and they’re being hella rude and need to take the bloody hint! 4) NTA, this is SUPER creepy and it’s the least he deserves, he should be grateful you don’t press charges ... which you totally should btw. Thanks for the new vid WaffleBoss 💙🐱💙

Yes he should replace them. If he is a good friend have a convo and take him shopping. My only concern is if he is a predictor and not just a cross dresser.

If a 17yo kid broke my tv I’d have both pay to replace! If the friend is a puss an tries to run out tell them you’ll sue. It doesn’t matter if you’re an innocent bystander your guilty by association. In short you broke it you bought it!!
@immortalsofar53143 жыл бұрын
Not in the same ballpark but while playing with my cousin as a kid, her shoe came off and broke a mirror. I just told my Mum I did it - it seemed simpler and I was used to getting yelled at. Kid did offer to replace it with a TV the same size. These guys insisted on paying for a ridiculously overpriced model so, yeah, a 17-year-old suddenly feels hard done by. 17 is _not_ nearly adult. It was the worst year of my life until my ex cheated on me so it sucks, you still do really stupid sh*t and have all the responsibility with none of the privileges. You're going to have to meet part-way here.

Doing ballet was the most physically demanding hobby I ever did. I didn't have the talent for it though so I had to give up. I still believe it's one of the toughest things to do, if you are tough enough to be a professional dancer, no one should mock that and it has nothing to do with gender. And for gosh sake, let a kid enjoy things. Great job OP and his girlfriend

The Hockeystory: How is OP TA exactly? They told their nearly adult Son to stop doing this shit and he did anyways. Also is the ESH Commentor out if his mind!? OP even said if the Friend that destroyed the TV apologized proper and assumed responsibility, OP would have been fine with it. And it's only fair that both Boys pay up, because that's how it works in the real world. Also treating that boy like he did a bad thing only? No he didn't but the rest STAYED and apologized And not shirk responsibility through their parents.

1st: NTA, GF "turning him gay" or brother turning him to an AH like him? tough choice LOL... In every eventuality, if your SIL may pass away, make sure that AH won't become your nephew's main provider/example to follow. 2nd: NTA, son and his friend are responsible, they have to replace the tv together. however, OP is at fault for asking for a new tv set, since the tv was used, if OP wants a new one, (s)he will have to contribute to it with a third of the price too. 3rd: NAITA, with neighbors may be slightly TA. OP lacks communication skills/ is too shy/introvert? 4th: NTA, invasion of privacy and great breach of trust. he is no friend! Also, what he did amounts to theft.
@9999plato2 жыл бұрын
The son knew better than to play in the house and did it anyway. The fact that his "Friend" didn't own up or apologize should show your son that he has shitty friends and that he is always responsible for the company he keeps. Son can work and pay back for the TV for not following the house rules. He might be more careful next time. He will also choose better friends next time.

1: OP should tell his trash brother that real men take care of their children. He lost the right to have any say in the boy’s life when he ran away like a coward. 2: The son is way too old to be playing ball in the house. He would definitely be expected to pay for a new TV (which should be way less than $1700, wtf). OP can talk to the friend’s parents about it to see what they want to do about this, which might be that they insist that their son get a job and pay for half of the cost, or they tell OP tough luck. 3: The neighbours sound annoying AF, even if they’re trying to be friendly. I understand just wanting to sit somewhere and relax. 4: He can cross dress all he wants, but he needs to buy his own clothes. Stealing undies from a friend is creepy and gross. It’s weird that he saw the camera and came back again. Maybe he figured he was caught anyway so might as well continue. I would not be comfortable having this guy around.

Not good at physics but it would be a lot of wt a male ballet dancer has to lift when a 120 lb ballerina hurls herself into his arms, which he then must lift over his head. Mega muscles. Mega strength. I loved the reference to Patrick Swayze, BTW. I remember him crying during an interview (Barbara Walters, I think) when he described the pain he went through via his dad and other family members.
