Hey Max as a follower for 4 plus years, like most of your followers we love you and care about what happens. If you don’t mind, please put some of us at ease and explain the legal framework for folks living on your property. I’ve owned 5 homes in 20 years, and sadly had a massive horror story completely unpredictable. You cannot, ever, predict people’s actions and in fact what happened to me was due to someone’s actions with mental health issues, who was a close family member. Despite caring about them, still, I now have learned to protect myself no matter what.

In both cases they were able to catch the snake for the clinic so they could identify and determine the correct anti-venom to use. Take care of yourselves and the pups!!

I just want to. say, we had a 13yr old Golden who was really starting to fail, not wanting to go on her walks anymore, not wanting to come inside the house and play with the cats (her usual favorite sport), and she didn't seem to be as jazzed about her food (if you know Goldens, that's a serious indicator of sickness or SOMETHING IS WRONG). We took her to the vet several times, she said she was just getting old, starting some congestive heart issues and she did have a tumor on one of her legs that they wanted to "keep an eye on". We talked about getting another dog because when we lost our last dog we literally morned for 4yrs before we were able to get another dog. As we were talking one of our neighbors bought a dog that was supposed to be a pure bred dog, and it turned out that it wasn't so they got their money back and were going to just take their puppy (barely 8wks old!!) to the humane society and drop it off...ON A WEEKEND!! We decided t take it and "foster" it for awhile, worried how our old lady would do with having a puppy around. It was like a miracle!! She perked right up, started teaching the puppy manners and commands, we didn't even have to "work" on house training, it's like Lola just told Chloe (puppy) "Girl!! You don't poop in your own den!! You go outside when you're on your walk. Don't worry about it, mom and dad pick it up and deal with it, you just need to "hold it". Getting this little puppy (first small dog I'd ever had in my life) gave Lola a reason to live, and she lived to be almost 16yrs old, and she helped Chloe to know how to be a wonderful dog and pet. For us, it was good getting another dog.

Good luck with the communal goals. Any info on legalities? Any biz partnership always starts out like a honeymoon and without agreements in place, can turn into a nightmare like a bad divorce. For those of us thinking about sharing large land with others, would be nice to hear how you are structuring this endeavor. Having their friends visit, for example. What if a rowdy situation happens or people come onto your property that don’t fit with your vibe, yet your “tenants” feel they have certain rights that don’t gel with you. My mental health requires boundaries. Love my neighbors but love my serenity.

Good for you! You are going to grow and learn so much. I have lived in a few communal situations. Only advice I would give is make sure you have a clear understanding of what the "rules" of the community will be from the beginning AND make sure everyone knows what they are. Of course, making the rules and consequences should be constructed in a communal manner. So much grief will be avoided if you do this early on. Communes that last the test of time, do this.
@lililinda6947Ай бұрын
Just to understand if he is the owner, he bought the property and stands to lose, shouldn’t he define the rules? I hope they do have to pay for their spot I am not sure how that works as a land and homeowner sounds frightening
@gblakevАй бұрын
@@lililinda6947 If Max defines the rules then it is no longer a community. There are very few "rules" that will affect the property. Extremely wise advice Max. At 70 and 75 yrs of age, 30yrs divorced and after living in a 2storey separate home for 15yrs, owned by our only daughter and s-i-law things went horribly wrong when I sent a txt msg to them objecting to them kicking us out without warning bcos they wanted to sell the property. Who would have dreamt the drama thats been created by them. They've disowned me and isolated me from my 3 gr kids also. Their inability to address a situation with kindness and respect has broken our family apart. We only live up the road in Qld, a 3hr drive from your area. We are living proof that even in a family there can be huge damage caused that one side refuses to address and amend. I for one have written an apology for all unintended hurt but that's not acceptable, apparently. Please be very wise and put written legal documents in to your framework for even the nearest & dearest of family & friends to be living on your property. PS. We were living under separate rent agreements but with an unwritten expectation we were there for our natural lives. We both have major health issues also, that makes their choices even more egregious.

My boss has a saying, “The trend is your friend.” and the statement couldn’t be more true! You reviewing and analyzing the data, with graphs, make this process fun and give some good/well deserved self-inflicted encouragement as well! I found you through Eamon & Bec’s channel (oh, who’s lying to who? It’s the Frankie & Oso’s channel! 😂 It’s been so enjoyable watching you and your property grow … and now to the community of your dreams! ❤ However you grow the community, for either buy-ins or rentals … to CYA, I do hope you have some type of an agreement drawn up, to just keep things copacetic. Looking forward to watching your dreams come true and grow even further!

So great for you to have friends living on your property 😊

I don’t think I would let people move onto my property, unless they were family. It sounds good in the short term, but if you can see far enough down the road as people grow and change, everyone needs their own space to be themselves, and that might not always align with your thing, Nothing wrong with it, but that’s just human nature. Just have something in writing so it doesn’t ever get ugly and you maintain control should thing go sideways. Good luck!

Family is not always a good choice. They, more than anyone, can do the dirty on you.
@RockinDemJeanzАй бұрын
Family, strangers, friends, acquaintances, “others”. The title of the relationship doesn’t matter so much, as the need to protect yourself (and your interests). You’re right, get it in writing/ a contract. It only takes 1 time for your trust to be burned, broken or abused. Future you, will be so grateful for your diligence. And if you never have to use the contract or be put in a vulnerable position? Great, you were right & nothing changes.

@@sunflower45665exactly! I have “family” I don’t even want to think about, much less have in sight. People who say you can’t choose your family should take one look at my will - because you damn sure can choose your family!

When I was a little girl I visited and stayed for some weeks at a commune called Bundagen somewhere up in the northern parts of NSW, and it remains some of the happiest memories of my lifetime. The lifestyle those people live is spectacular and is to be envied. What you and your friends are about to do is wonderful and should be encouraged! Humans function better in small groups. Small villages of like-minded folks. Bravo Max and mates! Bravo! ❤

The Bundaben community is still working today, near Coffs Harbour

Love the vanity set up and I like the half door on the toilet, but straight away I thought that it should be hung to open the other way. Walking in and out flows better, and makes it easier to run away fast if you spot a snake in there as you open the door.
@denniseaglesАй бұрын
came here to say this 👏 the stepping stones coming in from that side, the vanity close once you exit, all suggest to me it should open the other way. But in any case, its one beautiful door !!

It is good you have others living with you, it is alot to look after by yourself, even with help occassionally, the land needs a number of people attending to it. Occy also looks relaxed and well. Looks like Occy will have some friends to.

Put out an “occupied” flag for the outhouse. Some type of sign that stands out and is noticed. It’s very cool tho!!

Everything is coming togather beautifully. One thing I wld change is switch the door on the outhouse so it opens on the side of vanity so when u come out u don't have to walk around it to get to the vanity. Can't wait to see whats next♡
