On June 20, 2021, police officers were dispatched to Apodaca Park in Las Cruces, New Mexico, after multiple 911 callers reported a body lying in Madrid Avenue. The body belonged to then-51-year-old James Garcia. His head... was thirty feet away. Joel Arciniega-Saenz was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder. Arciniega-Saenz has since been formally charged with one count of first-degree murder. Arciniega-Saenz alleged that Garcia had raped his wife four years prior. Arciniega-Saenz separately told police that he, his wife and Garcia had been hanging out together, and that when he and his wife fell asleep, Garcia stole their belongings. According to Arciniega-Saenz, when he confronted Garcia about the alleged theft, he grabbed a switchblade from Garcia, stabbed him several times and cut off his head, after which he dragged Garcia’s body into the street and “played soccer with his head,” kicking it at cars that were passing by. Arciniega-Saenz refused to identify his wife to law enforcement; it is unclear whether she exists. In 2017, Arciniega-Saenz was charged with first-degree murder in relation to the April 22, 2017, shooting of Benjamin Isaac Montoya, 21, at the Town House Motel in Las Cruces. Arciniega-Saenz told detectives in that case that he had been outside smoking when the fatal shot was fired, however the girlfriend of the deceased, Dakota Ocampo, stated that Arciniega-Saenz may have been the shooter. Authorities charged Arciniega-Saenz based on witness statements as well as blood that had allegedly been found on his clothing, however it was later discovered that Ocampo, who had been arrested in a separate incident, had a .38-caliber pistol, which matched the caliber of the weapon that had been used to kill Montoya. Prosecutors dropped the murder charge against Arciniega-Saenz in April 2018. Arciniega-Saenz’s trial in relation to the murder of James Garcia is ongoing. It appears there are potential competency issues. Patreon ➞ rwp.yt/join Join the subreddit ➞ rwp.yt/r Follow us on Twitter ➞ rwp.yt/t Check out the other channel ➞ rwp.yt/wyhs ✌

The guy was already out on a $2,000 unsecured bond (means he didn't have to pay anything) when he did this. His defense attorney is arguing that he should be released again, and "at the lowest level of supervision." I know defense attorneys are important and all, but really... some of them are just terrible people. It's not like he's going to get paid a bonus for getting the guy out.

My dad was a Sacramento Fire Fighter then he became a police officer. He would come home with some horrifying stories that he'd mention when my brother and sister and I were older. Even the people who lived in the house behind us were doing some creepy things. I won't say them here, but growing up with these stories in the back of my head has kept me cautious of everyone that I didn't already know well. Crazy people out there. Kudos to these young officers who have to take this stuff home with them as well. God Bless them.

I completely understand the way the police are talking. To do that job requires the ability to process absolutely horrifying things, things that I would never want to see or hear, still do their job and then turn up again the next day and do it all again. You have to be able to find a way to process the inhuman to remain human. If they couldn’t talk like this, if they couldn’t use dark humor to reassure themselves and each other, then more first responders would be taking their own lives.
@rizzorizzo2311
@rizzorizzo2311 Жыл бұрын
That’s one reason the military, particularly line units, have such gallows humor. If you can make light of a situation you can better process it in the meantime. It doesn’t mean it won’t fuck you up later but it helps at first. I know our medic my first Iraq tour would go up to very obviously dead people and check their pulse and say something silly just to be a jackass. We would have to put them in body bags and then drive them to the local hospital to hand them off to the locals and I remember offering dead dudes cigarettes, war is hell.

That officer saw something he never in his life expected to and was trying to understand it. At first I was taken aback, thought about it, and agree. He wasn't making statements to the public, or family members. He might have sounded a little childish, but when you see this in person, things change. It's one thing to watch a video, another to live it.

It’s absolutely fascinating and frustrating at the same time to watch people that do these terrible things attempt to look crazy or incompetent. When someone is not truly “crazy” it’s so easy to spot because they just make themselves look extremely stupid. Even a clinically insane person would not just sit their and stupidly nod their head in silence. I’m not sure if all these murderers are reading “how to be insane for dummies” or not but it sure seems like it….

Some comments say that the cops who found a *headless body scene in a park reacted “immaturely & disrespectfully”…. Humans have natural coping responses to be able to face shock and horror like this. Personally, I believe my response would be to run away, screaming, crying, throwing up & mentally scarred for life. Because those cops in the park couldn’t react the way I would (most of us would), their human response was to comfort each other with humor. People are quick to pass judgement without empathy.
@Holocaustica

You’re goddamned right it was immature and unprofessional. That type of shit is for the squadbay or off watch. Now, potentially, a jury (not to mention the victim’s family) has to listen to the asinine rhetoric of people behaving like Bieber fans. When you’re on watch you’re expected to LOCK that shit down. There ARE ways to cope with such shock that don’t appear to devalue the safety of the community they’re tasked to protect.

@@malloybeats lol it’s literally not. Crime rates have been steadily dropping for the last 4 decades. Crimes just get more media attention now because the internet age gives more access and reach. Every time something happens there are 20 freelance journalists trolling police scanners so they can report a story that they can sell to the major outlets. This particular crime pales in comparison to the type of shit Ed Kemper and Jeff Dahmer did. Serial killers rarely get away from the cops long enough to rack up a big body count because our ability to investigate crimes has improved dramatically.
