horizontal scrolling is also possible with G502 (scroll wheel side press) and also even if you don't have a scroll wheel's side press, you can just hold Shift and scroll up and down with scroll wheel and it will scroll horizontally
@AlexTalksTechOnYouTube3 ай бұрын
I know it’s technically possible to scroll sideways using the side press, but it’s nowhere near as fluid and easy to use. But again, I’m arguing for such minor luxury improvements. It’s not like you can’t find your way around not having a horizontal scroll wheel. But there’s just something about having it that really gets me, for some reason 🤓
@nick066hu20 күн бұрын
What about the scroll wheel ? I got used to so. It has to be heavy, ie. has enough inertia to roll to top/bottom of a page. And also needs a ratchet feature when needed
@gnash585 ай бұрын
I did the opposite of Alex. I was using a G502 hero as my main mouse and switched it out for the MX Master 3S. The Master's features just fit my workflow better and I love its ergonomics.

That’s the thing - figuring out what works for you is what it’s all about. At best, reviews and videos like these can help to inform you, but ultimately you have to know what you want and need!

On a side note, I just ordered the Keychron M6, which is supposed to be sort of like a middle ground between the MX Master 3 and the G502 Hero, so I’m excited to try that one out! ☝🏼🙏🏼

with 125 Hz polling rate? Are you serious, bro? I sold my MX Master 3S and got Keychron M6, check this mouse out.

Which one is better? Ive been using mx master2 for 4 years, quite comfortable grip but the common button issue for this version is annoying because its keep coming back, and the part inside where usually need fix is now broken cos too fragile now I lost control not of one button but 3 side buttons.
@AlexTalksTechOnYouTube5 ай бұрын
I honestly prefer the G502 Hero, but that’s mostly because of its versatility. I can’t say my MX Master 3 has had any issues with build quality. But if you want to replace your old mouse, you might want to consider either the G502 or something else entirely. I’m getting a Keychron M6 soon, and I’m hoping that’ll be like a best of both worlds type of thing.

Can you describe the difference in how the scroll wheels feel? I felt the mx in person and i like the weighty metal feeling. Is the gs more rubbery?
@sawiieАй бұрын
Yes the Gs doesn't feel as premium, but I find it to be more accurate, the MX 3 would skip inputs waaaaaay to often for my taste.
@AlexTalksTechOnYouTubeАй бұрын
I agree with @sawiie - the G502 Hero's definitely doesn't feel quite as premium (neither the scroll wheel, or just overall). A decent alternative might be the Rapoo MT760L, which I just tested out. It does a lot to retain the premium feel of the MX, while also being way more responsive, but it does lack an infinite scroll wheel, which could be a deal breaker for some.

The amount of stuff you can customize this mouse to do is really underrated, in my opinion! I haven’t even delved into half of it, but even so, it’s made a huge difference in my workflow!

I have had an MX Master for literally over a decade (I'm a software engineer). I have two right now, one for WFH and one for the office. Brilliant. My mouse for gaming is a Logitech G502X and the G is better for sure, it's also frustrating as heck. I prefer the Master handsdown (pun intended) for comfort and fit to my hand. I wish Logi made the G502X inside the Master 3S body. A sleeper build if you will. The only reason I have a gaming mouse is because the bluetooth in my rig stutters so gameplay is trash with the MX Master 3S (now. It used to work fine). Previously I'd just use the button switch between laptop and desktop.
@AlexTalksTechOnYouTube2 ай бұрын
I definitely understand that. It might be worth it for you to check out the Keychron M6, or something else in that category. I found the M6 to be a perfect blend of both worlds, where it has the speed and connectivity of the G502, and the comfort of the Master. But it does come with a few major sacrifices of its own, most of all being the lack of a premium feel. But if you’re willing to live with a mouse that’s a bit plastic-y, it’s honestly a great find. And I’m sure there are others out there in that category.

MX Master 3S does not support side to side rocking (to scroll left n right) on the main scroll wheel. And the thumb side scrolling wheel is infuriating. Especially when one uses spreadsheets all day everyday.
@AlexTalksTechOnYouTubeАй бұрын
I just did a video on the Rapoo MT760L, which has a far superior side scrolling wheel, in my opinion! It's way more accessible and easy to use! And it costs about half as much as the MX Master 3S, without any noticeable compromises in quality! You should consider checking it out!

I currently use the 502 hero for everything. It fits my hand well and the buttons are well laid out. If wireless is needed, I'd use the g305. Once you get used to the buttons and layout it's hard to give up.

TBH the 502 series of mice are one of if not the best muse if you want a mouse can do everything reasonably well for an affordable price, since the 502 lightspeed can be found for cheaper than MSRP very easily(at least where I live)

Absolutely! If you want one mouse that can do it all, and you’re able to find it for less than the MSRP, pretty much any version of the 502 would be great!

I haven’t tried it myself, but it looks like it could be a great alternative to the MX Master while also being good for gaming apparently! I’d actually really love to try it out! Maybe I’ll get one and do a video on it 🤔

When i got my MX i was so happy with it for like half an hour. Awesome build quality, amazing scroll wheel (seriously, i'm lovin it). But it was so uncomfortable. No support for 2 of 5 fingers, pain in the wrist cause its not "tall" enough. Amazing mice but not for everyone.
@AlexTalksTechOnYouTube27 күн бұрын
Have you found something that solves this issue for you? I just ordered a Logitech Lift (a vertical mouse), but that’s mostly out of curiosity. Otherwise, of the ones that I’ve tried so far, the Keychron M6 has been the tallest one yet, but it’s also a bit more narrow than the MX, and certainly doesn’t feel as nice when it comes to the build quality.
@Shykovart27 күн бұрын
@@AlexTalksTechOnKZbin I've returned MX. Still miss it, cause as i said i'm in love with that scroll wheel. For now i'm using Razer Naga Pro. Very nice in terms of comfort, not so nice when it comes to build quality, and it's 12 additional buttons absolutely useless on mac cause Razer has no software for macOS.

Oh dude I exclusively use gaming peripherals (keyboards too) for office work lol. I use a controller gaming although admittedly MMOs introduced me to these beasts of tech but now I don't play those and hate kbm gaming otherwise. The mx master3 has more buttons than i would ever need and plus the other one honestly looks like a cheap mouse. I just purchased the mx master 3 today and couldnt be happier plus i got it for $75 out the door from walmart (i had a $15 coupon) its perfect for editing on Lightroom. And plus that side scroll wheel is what made me get it.

Excluding the infinite scroll wheell, the G600 is the greatest productivity mouse of all time.
@AlexTalksTechOnYouTube3 ай бұрын
That’s certainly a hot take 😅 You’re not at all distracted by the entire full sized keyboard they strapped to the side of that thing? 😅
@sportschad3 ай бұрын
@@AlexTalksTechOnKZbin Well, the dedicated G-Shift key and the placement of it is key to its productivity power. After that I basically have at least 24 programmable functions on that "full sized keyboard" alone only using G-Shift. If I use Logitech's Lua feature that can integrate the modifiers on the keybaord, you're looking at like what...more than 96 programmable functions? Maybe more. I tried it before using a co-worker's G600, once it's set up, the productivity power of the G600 just has no equal, it's still doesn't to this day. When it comes to video editing, 3D rendering, photo editing, general office works, probably not so much with coding. You can work while you f*p, with some exceptions. Only gripe I had on making me get one for myself is that it has no infinite scroll which can annoy me sometimes when I'm coding. So I stuck with my G502, which also has G-Shift/Lua set up, so I have like 50+ available programmable functions per application.
