Would be the right way to use a small high rpm engine, although top speed would be very slow! I'm currently working on an old Cox model car that uses a worm gear reduction for a high rpm glow engine that seems very simple but is robust.

Awesome execution on something I’m sure many people have wondered about. I’ve wondered if large multi cylinder RC airplane engines may work? Or possibly using a battery powered lawnmower motor/batteries to power a bike? Great video.
@zreolmeannin
@zreolmeannin 3 жыл бұрын
Those airplane engines are probably stupid expensive, he was given this one by the manufacturer, toyan and it costs about 750$ I think, and for the electric lawnmower idea I think somebody has already done that, considering it’s pretty easy and one other thing is you may end up with a bike but with worse range/power and more expensive to make than to buy

This reminds me of the movie date night I think it was where the couple claim they are the name called for a resturant table, and then the mob tries to kill them thinking they are someone else, and when they escape they get into a shack and get on a boat and it has the sound of it racing away, and then they pan to the boat with it screaming loudly and moving 2 mph. It was hillarious and unexpected. In other words, that is a huge amount of noise for going really slow!

Any bike shop should be able to put new spokes on your wheels, or find some spokes for you to put on yourself. I was in charge of my university's bike club for a few years, and did lots of bile repairs. I've even robbed spokes from old wheels that I had sitting around to fix somebody's bike that had just been locked to a bike rack. I've even taught people about how to lock up their bike properly by moving their bike to a different bike rack and waiting around for them. When you lock up a $1,000 bicycle, you should make it harder to steal than popping the quick release on the front wheel.

Just a thought: When you make your clutch pads, why not glue on one long piece then cut the excess to make the three pads? Since you have to trim the width anyway, you may as well trim the length. That way you don't have to worry about how well they fit when you are gluing them on and each one will have complete coverage.
