You described my exact hair problems (frizzy, itchy, dry, fluffy) and I stopped using shampoo only a week ago and i'm already noticing a huge difference! I was using heat to style it everyday (because it looked so frizzy) and now I literally just wash with conditioner and let it air-dry and it looks so nice!! So incredible to be able to embrace my natural wavy/curly hair

Most black people don’t wash they’re hair for months at a time just based on our hair type and certain hair styles we choose to wear so I can relate to this a lot! I haven’t washed my hair in like a month. 💕💕

@mscas04133 жыл бұрын
This will be common if you're just starting out trying to shampoo less. Basically, your hair gets used to being stripped every day (with shampoo), so it builds up a lot of oil trying to make up for the stripping. If you start to switch to every other day, and eventually once a week or longer, it can really help. Your hair may look greasy on that second day, but you can wear it in a top knot or braid it (thats my favorite) or even get a deep scrub brush and use water for like 5 minutes if you feel you really need to wet it every day. This can be rough for a few weeks, but it really does get better over time lol. I used to wash mine every day and it ruined my curls. Now I shampoo maybe once every month or longer (cowash every other day though), and my curls are way better, it's not greasy, and its WAY less tangled than it used to be (seems like dry hair tangles more??? but idk about that). Good luck :)

I don’t hate their conditioners, but there are definitely better ones out there. I’m no longer working with them and have since switched to new products. I was only using their products for the longest time so hadn’t tried any others. I’ve also mentioned before that I use their shampoo as a shaving cream and not to wash my hair.

I also notice that the photos from when you hair was frizzy it was also lighter. Lightening your hair will dry it out and take a toll on curl retention. Tbh I wouldn't go completely without shampooing because eventually all that conditioner is going to start building up on your scalp. Your bf probably doesn't use hair masks which is how he can not wash his hair for 8 years, but clogged hair follicles won't be fun and eventually your hair will probably start losing shape from the weight of conditioning only. 4c hair can probably withstand cowashing for a lot longer than more fine hair like yours. Just a recommendation before its too late lol

she might use like ACV rinses, those clean out all the build up but aren’t shampoo.

for me after about a week or 2 your scalp will stop producing as much oil that it used to. dry shampoo will be your bff for that short period of time though.

I’ve got curly thick hair and recently went back to my natural hair colour (similar to yours in this video) after bleaching my hair professionally for 5 years. I used olaplex and treatments, but the biggest difference so far was cut the bleach out. Even after using expensive hair care stuff, my hair would still feel dry and it’s because the oils don’t get to the end and are still dry because it’s naturally curly. I want to give this ago for the same reasons you spoke about! Thank you for the info, I’m going to try it! 👌🏻

your hair looks so good! I remember someone commented on your last video that sometimes when you don’t wash your hair as often it creates build up and causes hair loss. Have you had this problem?
@mscas04133 жыл бұрын
As someone with wavy/sometimes curly hair, I definitely experience product build up. I don't notice hair loss, but I don't really check either. If I notice there's a lot of build up (greasy hair, stringy hair, feeling heavy or oily), I will use a sulfate free shampoo and all seems fine after :)

But when I don't, I have some natural curls and my hair is flatter. I haven't put heat on my hair for almost a year now, so all the burnt(?) hair has grown out. However, I live in a country with very humid weather for 3/4 year, and my hair get soooooo frizzy from this - what advice/products would you recommend? love all your videos btw, looking forward to the next update!
