Great edit Steve. I am impressed with the quality of the DJI Action 4 especially how it picked up the fly line movement which can be difficult to catch. Let’s do it again sometime soon with a combination of Sony FX’s and DJI.

Great video guys. You always highlight the changeability of trout fishing. Handy little net, can I ask what brand and if you like it? Thanks for sharing.
@PeachyFlyFishing
@PeachyFlyFishing 4 ай бұрын
Ah thanks mate! Yeah the little net is a Mclean folding weigh net. I do like it for specific situations, it's great for bush bashing and small overgrown streams, as a full sized landing net can be a pain to drag through the bush. Only downside with it is it's quite small, wouldn't be great for landing a really large trout. It can be a bit fiddly to refold and pack away but I've sort of got the hang of it now. Overall yeah, it's a good net! :)

i would recomend a 4wd to get to a lot of good trout fishing places as it being inaccessible by anything else means that a lot less people can get there, the places that I have seen and caught trout are places you can only get to by 4wd

@@petermauder2191 if you have a famaily, get a older cruiser (80 series, 100 series 105 series) and get a desiel, when you push them offroad or towing the fuel economy will be affected less like 10l/100 less on a desiel when pushed hard, got a 105 with a 1hz and towing our 2t camper trailer offroad (2mks in an hour) we where getting 25l/100 and towing on the highway we get about 20l/100 and just dirveing without the van its about 14l/100 and our cruiser is heavily modified. hope this helps, and good luck

Yeah its a double edged sword really like it's nice to be able to mindlessly watch KZbin but it fucks a lot of spots up so basically one person can have a bit of self gratification
@PeachyFlyFishing
@PeachyFlyFishing 4 ай бұрын
@oliewray8357 yeah it can be a double edged sword. I generally try not to identify spots, especially if they're small and sensitive water. Unfortunately this one is pretty recognisable, but I guess the only people who would recognise it are the ones who've been there already. But yeah, for sure too much attention can impact the fishing in a spot, I try to be mindful of that, not saying I always get it right though. I'd also say that at least for my part, my reasons for making videos are not just about self gratification. For me it's more about wanting to share a sport that I love so much, wanting to help other people to see how fun and rewarding it is, and hopefully have some success themselves. I hope that comes through in the videos. Thanks for watching mate. :)

For me, humbly without offending, in that situation of still waters and small spaces it is better to apply a different strategy that puts the fish less on alert. The line coming and going puts them on alert. Or I would use a very long leader, 5 to 6 meters, or a nylon line, which are transparent and do not alter that type of water. Very small tipet nymphs, very fine, but the most important thing is that they would not go over the line. I think that with that in a place so loaded with fish, more catches would be obtained. Sincerely. Comentarios
@PeachyFlyFishing
@PeachyFlyFishing 8 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes I agree, your strategy is spot on. From memory I was using a very long leader (around 5.5m) and very fine tippet (7x), it was still very hard to catch the fish except up in the moving water. There were quite a lot of people who had been walking along the river, a few fishing, the fish were already very alert, but in the end I just needed to fish better to catch them! Thanks for watching. :)

@andrewtarlinton2440
@andrewtarlinton2440 11 ай бұрын
they can fine you for being in a national park when it is closed@@grahamnield7716Unfortunately the wild brumby situation has gotten out of control and the destruction of the natural environment can be seen everywhere. The temporary closure is to try to cull, which will be a good thing for the eco system and rivers. It is especially an issue up near long plain, close to where this video is shot (I believe)
