Lovely vlog of my old home town. I’m originally from Northallerton and Mel from Sheffield but we retired to Tenerife 2 years ago. You captured the town perfectly, quiet and restful. Love watching the content James, whether it’s with Helen or you on your own. Always something interesting and it’s nice light relief after a 12hr shift. The dry sense of humour is perfect and as time has gone on you’ve come across as more natural and used to walking around with a camera in busy places … which must of initially been a bit nerve wracking. Looking forward to more of Spain as it’s given us lots of travel ideas.

My hometown! And I agree, that's the best wetherspoons and the food is so good there. But you're right it can be quiet and seem a little boring if you're used to big city life, which we are too! It's taken a lot to get used to small town living, especially when all the takeaways are closed before the pubs 😅 Darlington is a nice bigger town to visit

Yorkshire is my favourite county. It's just beautiful up there. It's gorgeous in the sunshine and majestic in the wet (not referring to the cheapskate wine shop! £35!!) Thanks for the look around. I can understand why you want a bigger van, it can't be great on a wet day with 2 of you in this one. But this is a beautiful little van. It's so nicely kitted out, lots of little storage spots and a loo and fridge box. I remember what it looked like before the converters got hold of it, solid chunks of wood, not enough insulation, nowhere to put anything....... I'm scared 😱 But it's going to be fun watching. Don't sell this one until you are sure. Just in case. 😂

Then the feral kids hit the streets. .. awesome place to live on this earth all the same… its Yorkshire after all… whether north, south, east or west. Biggest county best people. If there is any devolution gotta be Yorkshire 👍

Perfect middle ground mate..build the shower tray in to a seat base...kinda like a mini bath!lol Just remove the cushion, pop up a shower curtain! Once done it all stores away in the seat base. I’m not taking credit I saw it somewhere just can’t remember who. I’m sure if you google campervan shower seat base you’ll find it. I’ve almost finished building a LWB/L3 /170 Sprinter myself. Mines a 314cdi rwd..no shower though, just gyms for us but if I’d had thought of this idea or saw it in the planning stage I might have changed my mind. Guessing you’ve got the grandad license/ passed pre 1997… if so… definitely look at getting a 5 ton Sprinter mate. They’re cheaper as slightly less demand, no worries about payload/weight as you get with 3.5 ton vans. Genuinely, if I could start over. If going for a 7m van I’d do my test to drive 5 ton and forget the weight troubles… that’s honestly something to really consider 👍🏼👍🏼

Folk are often seen brushing their teeth outside vans campers or tents, but no one bothers.... This weekend we are at Bosworth reenacting Richard the lll's final battle.

Enjoyable as always James, And your story at the end about the fire alarm going off. Reminded me of a time Jayne and me was on holiday, And doing some toast in the grill, And bugger me the fire alarm went off and i couldnt reach the thing grrr ,I had to stand on a chair and still couldnt switch it off,I ended up forcing the thing open and taking the batteries out. What a palaver, Especially as the toast was barely making any smoke grrrrr.

James I would think twice about the Sprinter as your next van. They have a bad rep for rust on the underfloor and chassis the engines are ok but if you are sold on getting one get it checked out by the AA or a good mechanic before spending any cash. Great video Northallerton James I have had some great nights in the big club when travailing home from York races. I wonder if the Club is still open. Looking forward to your next adventure. Tom

Great video James , pleased to hear about a new van end of year Them sprinters are good used many for delivery vans just stay away from deep water and big puddles the air intake is low down and they suck in water very easy and hydronic the engine , so dead van and new engine. Just a bit of advice may be you can get a snorkel for them like handovers
