It's not that it isn't getting smaller. It's that it's harder for our eyes to tell the difference when thatamy things are going on nowadays. It's like going from a 1000 polygon character to a 100,000 polygon character seemed like a massive jump back in the day because we can better gauge that with our eyes. Now we go from 1 million polygons to 100 billion and it doesn't seem like nothing changed when a lot did, we just can't perceive it all.(Those numbers are skewed, but you get the jist)

Outside of Nintendo, true. But I'd say modern gaming as a whole and across the board has reached all time lows. Concord has now replaced ET on Atari 2600 as the biggest failure in gaming history. $200 million dollar loss, $0 profits as everyone was refunded for it, Servers that costed money were also pulled. That's where we are now. Ubisoft's "You will not own your bought games and you will like it" alongside "Welcome to AAAA Gaming" has gone aswell as expected.
