i did not graduate. was able to get a good job, a great job actually. then eventually had my own business which went bankrupt last year. when most of my batchmates are now what society view as "made" (the houses, the cars, the trips abroad, you name it), i never felt i failed. never attended reunions for i have this feeling that there will always be judgment. where you live, what vehicle you own, what places you've visited. i may be someone who did not make it. but for me, i was always there. i enjoyed and enjoying life. for me, i had and has a life. if tomorrow i die, i will be grateful for the life lived. never look up. always look down. that is my view in life. i still feel blessed for there are more people who have less, much less in life compared to me. for me, then and now, diploma is just a piece.of paper. no, i am not advocating for students not to finish college. go for it but i did not. i just felt then that i won't need it to live a happy and contented life. and i have no regrets at all.

Grades aren't everything. They are only a piece of the whole pie. Somewhere down in the road of life no person will ask what your grades were in college. You don't have to selectively surround yourself with just smart people. You grow as a person when you share and teach others who are struggling. And when you teach, you are using knowledge to not forget what you learned. This is what awesome teachers actually do. In the workplace if you're a member of a team, you are only good as the weakest link. So come together and help lift up that one guy. It'll benefit everyone at the end because outsiders do notice the work of the weakest link. It's wise to have a mixture of friends, smarts aren't everything. You'll learn so much more in life. Saint La Salle would have done the same.
