This game will look better graphic-wise but it won't be better than ET. I have great memories of that game but if I played it today I doubt it would live up to the memories. As a 90's kid, film enthuse I approve of this! looks epic I think they caught the essence of "Indie" and Harrison Ford here along with the characteristics or signatures of the Indiana Jones film series which is action, humor, romance, danger, travel, mystique, doom, triumph and more I think they knew exactly how to do this whilst designing the game because this looks absolutely amazing thus far! great job guys!

@@machination2166 Yes. And that arsenal included weapons captured from the enemy, a common practice in any war ever. Weapon types that were not employed by one's own army, like shotguns for the Wehrmacht, were a particularly sought-after war trophy.

@@swagromancer while that may be true, I still think it's a bit a odd for them to simply have these weapons without any explanation, like explicitly showing them picking them up from fallen allied soldiers at some point. Also, sure, the shotguns might be picked up as collectors items but to actually use them while deployed seems far fetched given that they probably didn't have consistent ammunition supplies, only whatever they might happen to pick up.

@@machination2166 They still used them when they got them. Same with the M1 Carbine, for example, another highly prized trophy weapon. Allied soldiers did the same with German weapons. When they ran out of ammo, they could always go back to standard ordnance. This is just a showcase. I think expecting a full backstory for a random soldier using a non-standard weapon is maybe a bit much?

@@BigMicahC sure but in WWII it would have been far more likely for them to have an M1 Carbine, an M1 Garand, a Thompson, the amount of M1897s would have been astronomically low, that German got so lucky with a find like that. Not to mention the other two didn’t have MP40s so the likelyhood of this happening during the 1940s when the war was going on is even more unlikely. Looked like MP18s from WW1 (Late 1930s)

While it looks strange, the Germans did in fact use captured PPSh-41s. During the German-Soviet War going on during 1941-1945, Berlin put forth a program to take captured PPSh-41s and convert them to use the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge that was standard for the Germans at the time. They also used 32-round box magazines rather than the drum magazine you're probably used to seeing with the weapon. However, unconverted captured PPSh-41s used the 7.63x25mm Mauser ammunition, and some modified versions used the magazines that were used with MP40s. Sorry for the history lesson, but I hope this helps.
