Yesssss! My natural hair is BEAUTIFUL to me! My dad is probably my worst critic to the point I rarely go around him I had my high puff looking good and moisturized and he yells “D*** your hair is BAD its NAPPY!” but if I do a slicked bun, flat iron, or wear a wig he is like that’s better we thought you were going through something. This is how my hair is in its most happiest natural state & to get ridiculed for that is disgusting especially when it’s your own ppl 😡 sorry rant over 🤣

I been growing my hair out for about 5 years. I had this Hispanic man approach me and ask me Is that all you? I am like what? He wanted to touch it. He was telling me it was beautiful. Sometimes having your natural hair is not all negative. They just be curious because I been wearing weave forever and now I am natural so yeah heads will turn. They got questions. Yes your right they need to mind their own business!

When you mentioned you couldn’t keep pleasing others by wearing your hair how others want to see, that realllyyyyy hit home for me. In my case, I realized that it doesn’t matter how mainstream I try to make myself appear w my straight hair, I won’t be “accepted.” My mother has always straightened me & my sisters hair growing up, and when I started transitioning she wasn’t the biggest fan lol. But when I told my family that I feel more like myself, I rendered them speechless & I’m also grown AF so get over it 🤣

🤣🤣🤣 I was just telling my mom I'm grown Af do I still need to ask her permission for stuff... She said don't make me walk over to your house 🤣 but yes when it comes to self and the way you want or need to feel in order to get to the next level of self acceptance, DO YOU! people are always going to have the need to control, because they can't control anything in their lives..

I love my natural hair so much. It is a divine extension of my self. Fluffy like beautiful galaxy clouds, like a nebula that holds a million stars. I remember first going natural, and people asking me when I was going to get my hair relaxed again. It's crazy how certain standards imposed by Society have brainwashed people into thinking that their hair is not good enough. All hair is good hair, ALL HAIR TEXTURES!!! ❤ I had faith that I could grow my hair out healthy and strong! And here I am, 16.5 inches in :) 3 years natural. Putting love into natural hair helps to rapidly grow healthy hair... when I fully loved every texture on my head ("Type 4s"), I saw progress.. and I learned a lot of that from you and your wisdom! ❤🙏🏼

What a thrill it is to be the first!!! Lol EDIT: This may be off topic but I still feel that it is relevant to this conversation at hand. Some time ago on instagram there was a post that asked something like? "Why when black girls are fighting, they go for the hair first?" I mentioned that, "In the black community, our hair is our pride. The longer it is, the more "worth-thy" we feel or the more "worth-thy" we are perceived. And without it we aren't treated (and may not treat ourselves) the same." American society has stereotyped the black womans hair as not having much length at all. When that mindset is challenged, we react with negativity and dont take the time to look within ourselves as to confront these beliefs. Many shove their small minded opinions because, like you said, it reflects their heart towards others. I may edit later

I love how you pointed out that the begining of healthy journey means the ending of previous mindsets. I've personnally experienced how letting go of old habits and mindsets is crucial to making progress in my healthy hair journey. Regardless of others' comments about my hair, my own mindset had to evolve: the way I feel about my hair, my own view of what's beautiful, presentable, of "what my hair can or can not do", etc.

I totally agree with what you are saying. I am an older lady and from the UK. I cannot believe that wearing your natural hair can cause such a noise in our community. My mom was so against my sister and I going natural but then she ended up asking us for haircare tips. Luckily, I live somewhere where soo many women are natural so I don’t deal ignorant comments like I used to. It’s ridiculous the way black women are nitpicked. We just have to keep embracing our natural hair unapologetically and it will become the new norm

I like the long videos, it shows who you are and i like you're staying true to that. The first time i wore a braid out i went to work a white member of staff laughed and made jokes, i just ignored his ignorance but what actually bothered me was my black manager laughing! I went back to wearing wigs for a while then one day i just found my strength and wore a twist out. This time i put them in their place which shocked them and ever since then they know don't make no negative comments about my hair. Like you say it is a personal journey and no one can tell you when the right time is but we need to embrace what God has blessed us with. Xx When will you be posting your hair butter video?

There is a saying in my ethnic community 'gucokia rúi mùkaro' which loosely translates 'return the river back to its main stream.' I believe that's what we all must endeavour to do. We were on a path before we got waylaid with a self hate programming which has a made us to be on a self destructing path. Yet I feel a call from our ancestors to remember who we are, to go back to ourselves, to know that they are within us and are powerful more than anything that may be thrown at us, we just need to tune in a bit more and they will amplify whatever strength that we may need at whatever situation. We have that much power but only if we learn to be still and go within to draw from it. I am happy to have found your channel. Blessings and much love ❤️

This was a great video. I love my natural hair and I’ve started to feel a spiritual connection to my hair, but I’m always nervous and uncomfortable about being judged and locked out of opportunities because of my hair. So of course I try the wigs/weaves and I hate them so much it ends up being a waste of money. I have 3 wigs sitting in my room, unworn because I don’t like wigs at all. I’ve started to embrace head wraps. I need to find a place to buy some beautiful head wraps like yours. I used to put extensions, boxed braids, kinky twists, etc, but I don’t have the patience for the process anymore.

I like natural 4c, I just don’t like mine! Because I feel it hardly grows and I struggle to take care of it. Now, if my hair was like yours, I would love it!

The same energy you put out is the same energy you'll receive. They way you think about you hair is how it will respond it is attached to your head, scalp and mind after all. I felt the exact same way once but you won't see any results if you don't care for it, or show it love our hair is alive and picks up on energy. When growing a plant it don't happen over night. Tell yourself everyday even if it hurts or even if you don't see it yet that one day your hair is going to be whatever your goal is.

Very Good! We also, have to stop our own negative talk & thoughts. When you do that your confidence soars & it doesn't matter what other people think b/c you like it & at the end of the day......that is all that matters. ? = I have been wrapping my hair during this pandemic especially, do you wear anything under your wrap that helps keep the moisture in your strands? Thank you & blessings to you & yours.🙏🌷

Hi sisi, thanks for this video, I remember back in 2017 when I started my teaching job, I had a human weave installed on my head, funny thing I was not comfortable with that hair on my head, It felt like that hair was in a mission to get inside my skin, i asked myself whose hair is this on my head, is the owner still alive or dead right then I decided to take it down and never again to put someone's hair on my head.

Your crown probably has a higher porosity than the rest of your hair. However you moisturize your hair, moisturize your crown x2 or you need a heavier product to help seal in the moisture in that area. Maybe a heavier leave in conditioner and a butter to seal.

What’s you alls opinion on what your spouse may think of your natural hair choices? Do they too fall into the category of other people’s opinion does not matter? Or do they get a vote or a say so in how you choose to wear your natural hair? I would love to get your different viewpoints to help me in my current situation that I’m dealing with.

Tiffany when I went natural and did the big chop, my husband said he did not marry “that” hair and told me that it probably will not grow back.... Well almost four years later it’s thicker, healthier and longer than it ever was- I shut him up and all the other naysayers.... just keep doing you❤️🌞🌸

That's a good question. My husband actually told me to just listen to your hair. Keep it simple. He said you struggle when you do too much. That was right before my big chop years ago.

My fiancé is white and because of him I went natural!!🙏🏿❤️ He asked me years ago when I was relaxed why I would ever think "flat" hair is nicer than a big glorious afro mane? He asked why would I want to look like everybody else when black women look like Queens! He told me that he wants me on our wedding day to have my natural hair as it grows from my head! I told him the only way that could happen would be to stop relaxing my hair and big chop/transition😳 and he said DO IT!! and after some time of begging me to go natural i did it and he loves my hair sooo much I thank God for his life.🙏🏿❤️ Also, as of about 3 weeks ago I have stopped wearing wigs for the moment. I've been wearing them while growing out my hair and he said to me recently again 🤣 "why are you growing out your hair just to hide it away?!" he has helped and pushed me to embrace who I am so I accept all opinions from him. With that being said, he doesn't like it when I have my hair in space buns because he says I look too young and it makes him feel awkward 🤣 he also prefers when I do a lower bun and not a top one and I accept his comments because he is the one that looks at me everyday and I want him to always feel super attracted to me because it makes me feel sexy 😊 I also tell him that I prefer his beard and he keeps it most of the time for me as I find him more attractive with facial hair 🙈 you don't have to do what your spouse says with your hair but you should listen. (except for if they don't accept your natural hair!! That's a no no! )
